From the Department of Agriculture:

"Senate Democrats have now voted 13 times to not fund the food stamp program, also known as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). Bottom line, the well has run dry. At this time, there will be no benefits issued November 01. We are approaching an inflection point for Senate Democrats. They can continue to hold out for healthcare for illegal aliens and gender mutilation procedures or reopen the government so mothers, babies, and the most vulnerable among us can receive critical nutrition assistance"

From the Forrest Service:

"The Radical Left Democrats shut down the government. This government website will be updated periodically during the funding lapse for mission critical functions. President Trump has made it clear he wants to keep the government open and support those who feed, fuel, and clothe the American people."

Other departments engaging in propaganda:

Housing and Urban Development

Department of Justice

Department of Treasury

.
.
.

(Apologies if this has already been discussed ... this is new to me)

po'd ask. What's not true? Elections have consequences. "Of the people, by the people, for the people," BABY!

  2. by Curt_Anderson on November 1, 2025 1:32 pm
It's misleading at best. Democrats didn't vote against SNAP but against the tax cuts for the uber-wealthy which was a coupled with funding for SNAP. Nor are Democrats willing to pass the CR because the Republicans "promise" to discuss funding ACA, etc.

Republicans in Congress have to realize that since they don't control 60 seats in the Senate, that they have to cooperate and compromise with the Democrats.

The Hatch Act prohibits federal departments from blaming Democrats for a shutdown because it forbids partisan political activity using official resources, such as government websites, email systems, and official platforms. This prohibition is in place to prevent the use of taxpayer-funded resources for political messaging that supports or opposes a political party, candidate, or group. Multiple complaints have been filed against federal agencies for this very reason.

    Idiot,

    Worthless post.

    Curt,

Complaints can be filed with the Office of Special Counsel ... which is closed, lol.

"Due to a lapse in appropriations, the U.S. Office of Special Counsel is closed.
Complaints may still be filed, but most will not be addressed until OSC reopens. "

    https://osc.gov/Pages/File-Complaint-Portal.aspx

  4. by meagain on November 1, 2025 2:01 pm
Actually, the Republicans could end the shutdown any time they wanted. They, IMO, think they get political benefit from it. Yhey have a Senate majority and could remove the 60-seat requirement.

  5. by Indy! on November 1, 2025 2:16 pm

"Radical Left Democrats..." 🙂 And to think OD and Brown Shorts buy this crapola.

  6. by Navy2711 on November 2, 2025 6:27 am

    Meagain,

They could, but that's taking a gamble that they'll retain the majority in the future.

  7. by HatetheSwamp on November 2, 2025 6:39 am

    Gang,

The Dems can pass the CR anytime and friggin SNAP... and everything else will be fully funded... immediately.

What's unique about this shutdown is that the legacy media which, is preaching the Dem gospel, is impotent and has far less clout than Fox, and the New Media, which is on the GOP side.

  8. by Navy2711 on November 2, 2025 9:18 am

    Idiot,

"the legacy media ... is impotent"

And yet you can't shut up about them.

  9. by HatetheSwamp on November 2, 2025 9:27 am

... because it brings him the most sublime joy... especially the CBS part, yeeeeeeeeeeeeha!

  10. by Navy2711 on November 2, 2025 11:09 am
... because you're a reeeally weird dude. Getting excited about something that is ineffectual and then repeatedly sharing that with people that don't care is the sort of compulsive behavior that makes people slooowly edge away from you while keeping their eyes on you.

And it's why the boss had to tell you to stop inviting your co-workers over to see your bug collection, even though they'd already politely refused several times.

  11. by Indy! on November 2, 2025 11:12 am

    Question...

If we're going to call the Department of Defense the Department of War (at least until 2028 when President Gavin Newsome changes it back)...

Why is Trump still calling it the Department of Agriculture? Isn't that far too woke for the rubes like Brown Shorts and OD? It should be Department of Farms or Department of Old McDonald... something the radical right might be able to understand.

  12. by HatetheSwamp on November 2, 2025 11:39 am

"...makes people slooowly edge away from you while keeping their eyes on you."

    So? I'm a curmudgeon.

And, really, it's about the complimentary truths that MAGA's the new cool and woke is the new vile, bahaha.

  13. by Navy2711 on November 2, 2025 1:48 pm

    Idiot,

    "I'm a curmudgeon"

You're a curmudgeon that's been told by a judge not to go within 1000 feet of the schoolyard.

  14. by oldedude on November 3, 2025 5:58 am
I'm shocked this actually is "worthy" of a thread.

Just like all other "news" sites, they're slanted for what the maker wants to put out. I honestly thought this was a given, and something I learned in high school. Oh. yeah...

  15. by HatetheSwamp on November 3, 2025 6:06 am

    OD,

Navy has TDS as much, or more, than the rest of the SS woke Swampcultists.

IMO, they shouldn't have lockstepped with the Dem smoke-filled room in their conspiracy to foist the Day Drinker on voters. Still, all those agencies and departments are part of the Executive Branch. What did they expect?

  16. by meagain on November 3, 2025 9:27 am
Far from being impotent, the legacy media is still the most powerful influencer and informer. Most people still watch TV and read newspapers, even if they read the paper on their phones.

  17. by HatetheSwamp on November 3, 2025 9:45 am

Right, meagain. Splain that to the Day Drinker, who depended on the legacy media to get her elected.

  18. by Indy! on November 3, 2025 9:54 am

The Democrats never had websites that took kindegarten-level potshots at Republicans...

    "The Radical Left Democrats..."

You two are suck tools for the oligarchy.

  19. by Navy2711 on November 3, 2025 4:17 pm

Incredible that OD and HtS can't tell the difference between news sites and government websites.

  20. by HatetheSwamp on November 4, 2025 3:56 am

    Navy,

    Good point. Please splain.

  21. by Ponderer on November 4, 2025 7:20 am

He's such a lost little helpless waif, ain't he, Navy? He needs everyone to do everything for him. He needs to be shown how two and two make four.

To all you woke SS sanctimones: pb's just thankful that Curt permits idjits like himself to post here among his intellectual and moral superiors.

Watch now as he zeroes in on me 🤣

  25. by oldedude on November 4, 2025 1:29 pm
Incredible that OD and HtS can't tell the difference between news sites and government websites.

I know that you cannot actually understand the reasons for citing. I cite the government source because many times that's the original source. Everything you read and cite is an illusion and a figment of the writers' imagination, and how the editors want the story to say. Regardless of where you look. Source documentation is essential to understand what bullshit you're believing.

  26. by Indy! on November 5, 2025 1:18 pm

Please cite one of these instances of mine you're referring to, Odoorous or compound your title of Official Board Liar even further (if that's even possible). As ALWAYS you are the one making shit up here that you did not cite and can not cite because it never happened.

And right now, Odie? I'm LAUGHING at the board "alpha male". 😂

  27. by Navy2711 on November 5, 2025 1:19 pm

    OD,

Yes, government websites disseminate information to the public. And yes, they often put out official press releases. If that makes them a news site, then the website of every government institution, corporate web page and celebrity Tik Tok is a news site.

  28. by oldedude on November 6, 2025 7:32 am
If you actually look at my posts, I generally use the law for example, because most people don't know WTF they're talking about. They find a "citation" from say, mother jones, rolling stone or some other rag as "fact" in a case. I choose to show what was actually said, rather than someone's "opinion" of what happened. If you want to use hearsay or fourth or fifth generation of a "story," go ahead. But not looking at the original source is to me, stupid.

  29. by Navy2711 on November 7, 2025 8:11 pm

    OD,

When we reference a government website, such as the DOJ or the USDA, or Congressional transcripts, US Code or state statutes, research papers, court filings ... etc ...

    ... that is a source.

When a journalist gathers information from sources, verifies it, contextualizes it and synthesizes it into a report ...

    ... that is news.

  30. by Indy! on November 7, 2025 8:15 pm

That's why Fox doesn't hire journalists to report - they hire actors who are willing to learn their lines, repeat them without question and collect a paycheck for doing so.
