The War on Intelligence continues...

Trump administration fires senior Navy female officer at NATO

U.S. officials say Navy Vice Adm. Shoshana Chatfield, the only woman on NATO’s military committee, was fired over the weekend by the Trump administration

WASHINGTON -- U.S. Navy Vice Adm. Shoshana Chatfield, the only woman on NATO's military committee, was fired over the weekend by the Trump administration, U.S. officials said Monday.

Although no reason was given, officials said it was apparently tied to comments she has made that supported diversity in the force.

According to the officials, Chatfield got a call from Adm. Christopher Grady, the acting chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and was told the administration wanted to go in a different direction with the job.

The officials said they believe the decision was made last week by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, but it was unclear whether he received any direction from President Donald Trump. Three U.S. officials spoke about the firing on condition of anonymity to discuss personnel matters.

Chatfield is the third top female officer to be fired since Trump took office. (Indy: The War on Women also continues...) Hegseth announced in February that he was firing the chief of naval operations, Adm. Lisa Franchetti. And Trump fired Coast Guard Commandant Adm. Linda Fagan just a day after he was sworn in.

Trump and Hegseth have been vocal in their insistence that so-called woke policies are dead. There has been a vigorous campaign to remove leaders who promoted diversity, equity and inclusion, and to erase DEI programs and online content.

Chatfield was on a list of senior military officers targeted as “woke” by the conservative American Accountability Foundation, which sent a letter to Hegseth saying that “purging the woke from the military is imperative.” (Indy: Good lord)

The American Accountability Foundation is a far right wingnut org created by your typical wingnutty "think" tanks and billionaire idiots who should mind their own business....

AAF is a member of the advisory board of Project 2025, a collection of conservative and right-wing policy proposals from the Heritage Foundation to reshape the United States federal government and consolidate executive power should the Republican nominee win the 2024 presidential election.[8]

"Dark money" obscuring the donors has been contributed to AAF via donor-advised funds including the Goldman Sachs Charitable Fund, the Fidelity Investments Charitable Gift Fund, and the National Christian Charitable Fund.[9] Other sources of funding include private foundations such as the Dunn Foundation, the W.L. Amos Sr. Foundation, the Nord Family Foundation, and the Quinn Family Foundation.[9] The America First Legal Foundation, founded by Stephen Miller, and the 85 Fund, associated with Leonard Leo, also gave money to AAF.[10]

So - as always - we have a bunch of rich billionaires who are so ashamed of what they are doing to destroy America they can't even put their names on it.

    Lead-

I find it funny when Obombers "military coup" purges 197 officers in five years for perceived or suspected of disloyalty to or disagreement with the administration on matters of policy or force structure, leaving the compliant and fearful. obomber referenced "my military" as a point of bullying the military into submission.

Replacing "some" officers is absolutely normal for any president. Lincoln was known for firing and rehiring staff officers, mostly for stupidity on the battlefield (which was true). Turnover in all ranks of the military is normal also. Staff officers (O5+) have generally spent 15-20 years already, and some of them just move on.

Army Maj. Gen. Paul Vallely (Retired), an outspoken critic of the Obama administration, notes how the White House fails to take action or investigate its own officials but finds it easy to fire military commanders "who have given their lives for their country." Vallely thinks he knows why this purge is happening. "Obama will not purge a civilian or political appointee because they have bought into Obama's ideology," Vallely said. "The White House protects their own. That's why they stalled on the investigation into Fast and Furious, Benghazi and ObamaCare. He's intentionally weakening and gutting our military, Pentagon and reducing us as a superpower, and anyone in the ranks who disagrees or speaks out is being purged."

The "woke" system is counterproductive in the military. Period. Even 10 years ago, the military is set up to not see color, race, ethnicity, or religion of a person. Rank is gained on a blind system, and based on written tests, annual evaluations, time in service, time in grade, and awards and decorations. That's a violation of wokeness, where are not valued by their character, but their race, or any other "special" group. That is absolutely divisive and can generally get people killed. Wokeness took us back to the 1940's- 1950's, when those of color could only hold certain jobs. We just reversed it.

For those that hate the military don't have the capability to understand how far the military has come since even the 1970's. These sheep use "documentaries" like "Platoon," "Hogan's Heros," or "Stripes" to get their "knowledge" about the military. This is one reason that when trumpster was elected, military recruitment skyrocketed.

Again, it's the "Rules for thee, but not for me" that libbings like to use.

You have a remarkable talent for getting things backwards, IOD. Wokeness encourages merit based systems. You seem to be unable to grasp what woke means. The reality is that anyone who is not woke is a drag on society: someone who has no human instincts. Lacking in empathy . Self satisfied and selfish.

It does not surprise me that Trump would want to purge the military of wokeness. He must always fear that the military will decide it is necessary to save America by removing him from office.

Big difference between "disloyalty" (I doubt OD could back that up anyway), "disagreement with the administration on matters of policy or force structure" and a person's attitude towards life in general (being "woke" as the Fox clones like to say).

Wrong. If you're not willing to understand and accomplish what your commander wants, you shouldn't be in a position of authority. Especially at that level, there is an expectation that you must "support the administration on matters of policy or force structure," especially at that level. And remember, these are "appointed" positions. You serve at the pleasure of the President. Period. No questions.

You're trying to fight this, and what you're saying is one of those things you learned from "hollywood" that is a fabrication of your wildest dreams.

"disagreement with the administration on matters of policy or force structure..."
These are the basics of being a commander. That's why obomber fired 197 of his senior officers. So you're saying he couldn't do that? Because if trumpster couldn't, and you want him jailed, you'd better look at every president from the revolution forward (yes, even obomber and pedojoe). From E5 (NOT a commissioned officer) on, you're expected to support decisions to your lower-ranking troops. You can disagree with your superiors, and (usually) have a voice to do that. If it's illegal, you have an obligation to voice your descent (to your superiors). But never to your subordinates.
