po put a whacky, deluded, note on Facebook yesterday about the death of democracy in the US. Absolutely insane.

During the 024 campaign, the Biden, then Harris, campaigns told ridiculous lies about Trump... he's going to set aside the Constitution... he's going to turn the military on his enemies... he promised to be a dictator from Day One... he's going to pass a nationwide ban on abortion... he's going to foist Project 2025 on everyone...

Politically, ole pb was beside himself because neither Trump nor JD ever responded to the lies.

Turns out. The only people who believed that ridiculousness were the crazy, like po, Donna, isle. I'm not sure Indy or Curt did. But, we know now, that virtually every persuadable voter knew those lies were horse$#!t...

But, especially woke, deranged practitioners of TrumpHate believed. Heart. Body. And, soul.

My heart goes out to you all. Hopefully, it won't be long before you reconnect to reality... for your sake and for the sake of the nation.

Below is a post one of my Facebook friends posted on November 6. Heartbreaking.

I wish the best for every deranged TrumpHater:

I keep running to the Internet and hoping to read something different. Sorry, the count was wrong. Actually, she was the winner.
I sprint to social media and hope to read something that soothes my heart. I only see heartbreak. No words can be written to describe the deep ocean of betrayal we feel, by a country that proclaims freedom, by a religion that boasts of love.
I turn to the Internet and keep seeing people that I know will be harmed by this decision, celebrate. I see people who claim to love the least of these, silent. Like I stepped off a merry go round, I am dizzy, my eyes find no place to land.

I will not be silent. My entire friend group is at risk by this decision. I am a Lesbian woman whose love and ability to have a family is on the line. My friend might not be able to carry children because of the inability to have a safe pregnancy. My friend who was not born in this country and her citizenship questioned because of her nationality. My LGBTQIA+ clients, my clients in domestic violent situations, my CLIENTS. The list goes on and on and on and on, my head is exploding.

Today we grieve, we gather together, we stand with one another the way we were taught all our lives, for Us, for the Least of These, for the minorities, for everyone's voice that is being robbed in this decision.

I don't know what's next, but I do know that I will continue to use my voice, my work and my life for the marginalized and for change.

Hate's inability to experience or understand the concept of empathy precludes him from comprehending anything about what that woman he quoted, and the rest of the LGBTQ community is going through currently. His faux sympathy rings as hollow as his myriads of other lies do. Hate has no real human heart to go out to anyone. His vapid, worthless sentiment is as real a thing as Trump's innocence.

In the coming months and years, as some of us will be posting on all the little steps this next administration takes to implement sociopathic, theocratic insanity like Project 2025, he will blow it all off. Ignore it. Deny it's actually happening as we show him proof that it is. And after a while, he will declare, "See??? You never proved any of it! It's not happening at all!". As will all MAGA Hats like him who will have to blatantly ignore reality to keep living in the imaginary utopia that they fool themselves into believing that their Golden God has provided for them.

"Eggs are only $47.50 per dozen now?!?! Why they've ain't never been this cheap before ever!" -A Common MAGA Hat declaration in a few months

    po,

My young, woke, LGB friend believes, as do you, what nearly 100% of persuadable voters figured out is nuthin more than a ripe, juicy, pungent, steaming, pile o' $#!t.

For your own sake, I hope you connect to reality sooner rather than later. I'm under no illusion that you'll share Trump's political views (nor do I) but, for the sake of your paralyzing angst, I hope you will drop the deranged TrumpHate... and, simply, become a member of the loyal opposition.

  4. by Donna on January 19, 2025 10:45 am

    *yawn*

Hate has turned this forum into The Hate Show... which I have absolutely no interest partucipating in.

  5. by HatetheSwamp on January 19, 2025 11:08 am

Sorry you feel that way. I imagine that you are projecting your own emotion on the whole forum.

I am speaking truth that is mathematically verifiable that, in 024, nearly every persuadable voter determined that what social progressives, such as yourself, consider to be "a truth universally acknowledged" about Trump and MAGAs is horsepucky. Ole pb thinks that the persuadable voters got it right and that's why we GOPs own DC.

I get it that you really do believe what most people think are lies. I can't imagine the level of your angst thinking, what?, you're going to be sent off to a camp?

I wish you could take my word for it. Trump is not conservative. He's not progressive. He's a pure pragmatist.

He has ideas about what works. Oppressing you isn't something that will work... nor that people would want.

Take a deep breath. You'll survive tomorrow.

  6. by Curt_Anderson on January 19, 2025 11:33 am
    HtS,
Maybe Trump didn't attempt to deny what was claimed he said because he actually said it. I am not bothering to address all of HtS's list of purported lies about Trump. There is not much reason to lie about what Trump said or did. What he actually says or does is bad enough.

For example, regarding his statements about setting aside the Constitution:

"Do you throw the Presidential Election Results of 2020 OUT and declare the RIGHTFUL WINNER, or do you have a NEW ELECTION?
A Massive Fraud of this type and magnitude allows for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution," Trump wrote in a post on the social network Truth Social. "Our great 'Founders' did not want, and would not condone, False & Fraudulent Elections!"

Besides that, he has called for the end of various constitutional protections including birthright citizenship which is protected by the 14th Amendment.

Apparently MAGA-world believes that Trump should be given credit for not threatening to dissolve the entire Constitution.

Also, HtS, Trump is not a pragmatist. He is a populist. A populist spouts promises that ignorant people believe are pragmatic solutions even if they are unconstitutional, authoritarian "solutions". See: Hitler and Germany in the 1930s.

    Curt,

Are you betting Trump will is an Executive Order ending birthright citizenship tomorrow?

Correct me if I'm wrong. Trump isn't the only person in America who wants to address that Article of the 14th Amendment.

Correct me if I'm wrong. Other Amendments to the Constitution have been repealed.

Correct me if I'm wrong. You do have some deranged TrumpHate in you, don't you?

    *****

Here's my commitment to you, Curt: I won't Good German for Trump during the next four years. I will attempt to cure the TDS virus, but I won't Good German you.

  8. by Curt_Anderson on January 19, 2025 5:34 pm
    HtS,
You are wrong all points. Trump cannot undo the 14th Amendment with a presidential decree, no matter how many of the xenophobes who voted for him might hope he could. You can look up the necessary steps to repeal an amendment.

My hate is quite rational. I hate how Trump has devalued and debased ethical norms, our politics, our elections, our justice system and other institutions. I hate how Trump provides permission for bigots to be bigots.

  9. by Indy! on January 19, 2025 9:02 pm

Good lord, Brown Shorts - why are you even talking about politics when you obviously have no concept of the how the Constitution works? Did you go to school? What grade did you finish? Was it a religious "school"? Why am I even asking. It has to be. No wonder you want the Department of Education eliminated - it's the only way for you to level the playing field down to your speed.

  10. by HatetheSwamp on January 20, 2025 2:19 am

    Curt,

Where did I say that Trump can revoke the 14th Amendment with an Executive Order!!!!?

He can't do that any more than the Former Truck Driver can declare the ERA the 28th Amendment. Oh, but the Trucker did. Keehee ha.

  11. by meagain on January 20, 2025 7:47 am
Curt adequately refuted the 'pragmatist,' notion. Another way, though, is in realising that a narcissist cannot possibly be pragmatic. A narcissist does not look for practical solutions but only whatever fits his self-preoccupation.

  12. by HatetheSwamp on January 20, 2025 8:23 am

Why can't a narcissist be pragmatic?

  13. by meagain on January 20, 2025 11:55 am

Why can't a narcissist be pragmatic?

For the reason I gave. A narcissist is self-preoccupied and views life only through the lens of their own benefit and power. Curt put it in more detail. That precludes practicality.

  14. by HatetheSwamp on January 20, 2025 11:57 am

Why can't a narcissist do that pragmatically?

  15. by Curt_Anderson on January 20, 2025 12:13 pm
    HtS,
A narcissist will only take a pragmatic approach in situations if coincidentally aligns with their self-interest and self-image.

It is pragmatic to drive on the right side of the road. That doesn't mean that every driver is a pragmatist by nature.

  16. by HatetheSwamp on January 20, 2025 12:25 pm

    Curt,

Yeah? So? You're agreeing with ole pb? Trump ain't progressive or conservative? He's pragmatic.

  17. by Curt_Anderson on January 20, 2025 12:36 pm
Jeez, HtS, how many times do I need to explain this to you? See #6 in which I wrote:
Trump is not a pragmatist. He is a populist. A populist spouts promises that ignorant people believe are pragmatic solutions even if they are unconstitutional, authoritarian "solutions".

In the words of H L Mencken, "for every complex problem there is a solution which is clear, simple and wrong."

Perhaps more pertinently, Mencken said, "on some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron."

Most famously Mencken said, "no one in this world, so far as I know - and I have searched the records for years, and employed agents to help me - has ever lost money by underestimating the intelligence of the great masses of the plain people."

  18. by HatetheSwamp on January 20, 2025 12:42 pm

Mencken was probably pretty much Curt Anderson a century ago. Shame on him. Shame on you.

    Ummm... Peebs?

The ERA Solidifies Women’s Rights in the Constitution as the 28th Amendment

The federal government has finally recognized the Equal Rights Amendment as the 28th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, ushering in a whole new era for gender parity in this country.

    >SNIP!<

Not only did the president recognize the amendment’s ratification, but he did so with the support of hundreds of thousands of Americans. In addition to the 38 states that ratified the ERA as the 28th amendment, more than 200,000 Americans signed a petition this week calling for this specific act to solidify constitutional equality. Data for Progress polling from December showed 61 percent of voters would support President Biden publishing the Equal Rights Amendment and adopting it as the 28th Amendment to the Constitution. And a 2020 Pew Research Center poll found that 78 percent of Americans believed that the ERA should be a part of the Constitution, even if they didn’t identify as feminists. With this official recognition today, the will of the people has been vindicated.

    ================================================

To fill in ONE of the holes in your education - it takes 38 states (3/4 of the states) to ratify a Constitutional Amendment. The ERA is now a part of the Constitution whether you and the rest of your sharia law-loving Brown Shorts want it or not. The only think Biden did was recognize that it happened.
    americanprogress.org

  20. by HatetheSwamp on January 20, 2025 12:56 pm

    Indy,

    Ummmmm.

First, the ERA gas nuthin to do with gender. It has to do with equality based on one's sex.

Second, opportunity for the ERA to be an an Amendment expired in 1982... more than 40 freakin friggin EFFINyears ago.

A seven-year, 1979, deadline was included with the legislation by Congress. A simple majority of Congress later extended the deadline to 1982. Both deadlines passed with the ERA three short of the necessary 38 states for ratification.

Though "that feckless dementia-ridden piece of crap" tried, regularly, he could not supersede the friggin US Constitution.

    en.m.wikipedia.org

  21. by Indy! on January 20, 2025 6:58 pm

There's nothing about deadlines in the Constitution, Brown Shorts. I know you nazis don't care about the actual document, but that's how it works in this country whether you like it or not. And I don't care what your wiki page says - only you Red idiots fall for that nonsense.

  22. by oldedude on January 20, 2025 7:19 pm
As usual, you don't know there was another You're not including the Articles of Confederation, which you know nothing about. It was our constitutional in 1789.

The "Constitution" as you "call" it was confirmed in 1789. So instead of hating everyone and everything, you might want to step back and pull your head out of your arse.

  23. by Indy! on January 20, 2025 8:10 pm

    How ya doing Red idiot?

  25. by Indy! on January 21, 2025 12:30 am

I ddn’t vote for Trump - where did you get that idea? 🤔

  26. by HatetheSwamp on January 21, 2025 2:11 am

    Indy,

In passing the ERA and sending it to the states, Congress set a deadline and, later, extended it. The states didn't pass it by the deadline.

It's so typical of the Biden administration... and its supporters... to presume that it can usurp the power of Congress.

  27. by HatetheSwamp on January 21, 2025 2:12 am

Good to hear from you, OD. I hope you are well.

  28. by Indy! on January 21, 2025 3:31 pm

It's so typical of the Biden administration... and its supporters... to presume that it can usurp the power of Congress.

Says the MAGAt who voted for the guy who just pardoned the very people who tried to "usurp the power of Congress". You're a fucking fraud in every aspect of your life and being - how does that feel? Are you so vile and pathetic you can't understand that's who you are?

  29. by HatetheSwamp on January 21, 2025 3:44 pm

    Ah, yes. Crooked pardons.

I've been clear. I'm appalled by the Trump
    pardons in the headlines.

But, I heard someone say... on Fox today, baha... that Trump PROMISED to issue these pardons. The people elected him knowing that he keeps that sort of promise

Biden, however, promised not to pardon Hunter, or members of the Crime Family. He lied like a rug!

  30. by Indy! on January 21, 2025 3:50 pm

We all know your hypocrisy is off the charts, Brown Shorts - that's been clear for years. Here you are - again - ignoring that your orange ass monkey master pardoned MURDERERS who were convicted in court and put in jail for their crimes. Biden's pardons were the same as every other president - inconsequential gifts to friends who have not even been charged. That doesn't make it right, but it is CLEAR you are fine with murderers, traitors and seditonists being set free because the shitstain on America - your master - the orange cock you're probably sucking right now - is the one behind the abomination. You make me sick, MAGAt.

  31. by HatetheSwamp on January 21, 2025 3:52 pm

    Noop.

I think these pardons are a travesty. But, your dementia-ridden guy started... and lied about it.

  32. by Indy! on January 21, 2025 4:01 pm

I did not vote for Biden, but you voted for the orange shitstain and you're still supporting him in the face of him pardoning people who murdered cops. You are not a Christian. You do not have any morals. You are a complete and utter fraud of the highest order.
