"California's economy is the fifth-largest in the world. Last year the state faced an estimated $46.8 billion budget deficit and in the year before, a $32 billion budget shortfall."

"California Faces a $68 Billion Deficit. Largely as a result of a severe revenue decline in 2022‑23, the state faces a serious budget deficit."

"California's total long-term debt, between the state and local governments, has quietly surged to over half a [freakin friggin EFFIN] trillion dollars, making it the most indebted state in the nation."

I know of no one not heartbroken over the suffering of the people in the Los Angeles area impacted by the fires.

But, gang!

Over here on the right, we've been watching the disaster that is the state of California, and the cities of LA and San Francisco, for years.

Clearly, it scandalizes our woke, i.e., po, Donna, Curt to hear Trump say what he said about political incompetence yesterday. What you woke don't know is that this is what rightsters have been saying among themselves for years.

It's like watching an accident happen, knowing it's going to happen, being powerless to do anything about it.

The people of California chose this disaster. They VOTED for it. We've been standing to the side saying, "DON'T DO IT!" But, Californians did it... of their own free wills.

Well, gang, California is going to have to recover from this disaster, starting with about a $500,000,000,000 deficit... because the politicians and people of California chose this.

Over here, we've been opposed. We were warning. No one is celebrating. But we saw this coming!

Showing yiur ignorance again. Naturally, California has the largest debt. It is the biggest state by far.

However, the debt-to-GDP ratios are what count as they how the ability to repay debt.

    Thus:
The states with the highest debt-to-GDP ratios are Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, New Jersey, and Vermont, where debt is more than 20% of GDP. Other states with high debt-to-GDP ratios include:
    Kentucky: 22.78%
    New York: 20.07%
    West Virginia: 19.7%

meagain, don't ever expect Hate or any other rabid MAGA Hat to have the capacity to look at the big picture.

It's rarely if ever helpful to their side.

But you're right. Yet another in the cavalcade of reasons why Hate needs to go fuckimself.

  3. by Indy! on January 10, 2025 8:02 pm

You sure you want to go the debt and deficit route when Commander Clueless' policies are estimated to add an extra $14.9 Trillion (that's 14,900 Billion to the math challenged Brown Shorts in the audience) to the U.S. deficit.

After a quick "oh crap I feel sorry for them," Okay. What's the FIRST first responsibility of the government is to maintain law and order and to protect it's people. The government achieves this through its agencies, including the police, military, and paramilitary. Additionally, the government is responsible for making and enforcing laws. Earlier this year, CA had a huge amount of watershed in it's rivers. That's a good thing. The state "KNOWS" it will have wildfires. It happens every year. Oh. Wait. You mean "extra" water? ...mmmmmmmm Gee, what could we use that for? Maybe we could use it for a new waterfal into the Pacific to celebrate the slime from the genderless chameleon! Yeah, that's it! Yeah, that's the key!

    fuckingmorons, pullyourheadoutofyourarselongenoughtobreathe.

This is God mocking stupid people🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

For those that can think, move fast! Get out of stupid places!

It's sad and telling that both of you are using one of the worst disasters in CA history to bash the people you are told to bash by idiots like Hannity. Ever heard of kicking someone while they are down? When did that become an American value?

All of a sudden, there's oceanfront property in Reno. Who wouldathunked?

Of course, I grew up in a highland desert, so, allowing for snowcap and watershed is also a normal occurrence. We actually do it here on an annual basis and regionally. Both FL and CO do this down to each farm in our state and each subdivision of our state so we know who's going to be on water restrictions. Can't figure out how CA doesn't figure this out... jussayin...

    Indy,

I can't see how reasonable people can do anything but criticize the management of the threat of fire. The weather forecasters made it plain that the fierce Santa Ana winds that spread the fires were coming.

And, at a time that major companies, e.g., Wal-Mart and McDonald’s and dozens of others, are dumping DEI policies, it'd be inevitable that pb's whole three-headed monster would notice the DEI generated incompetence in the LAFD.

    Defend it all you like.

I remember a time when Americans came together during times like this. Sociopaths have ended that. Shame on anyone who lauds them.

  10. by Indy! on January 12, 2025 9:11 am

The racism is off the charts at Fox too - as we can see from Brown Shorts non-stop "DEI" posts. By claiming "DEI" is the problem, what the MAGAts are really saying is white people do things better than non-whites - which is hilarious at face value. If anything, white folks - especially Trumpers - are usually fat, stupid and lazy.

Maybe it's because politicians didn't spend money on stupid stuff then blamed it all on someone else.

I'll just keep repeating myself because the answer is soooo simple. 1. What is the primary requirement of government? (A: Protect the people that live there paying taxes).

    2. What happens EVERY YEAR that involves the people that live there? (B: fires).

    3. Was there money taken from the wildfire fund this year and given to stupid shit? (C: Yes. The fire Chiefs from the area all complained about them not have enough for a "normal" year, much less the year they're having this year.)

It's different if there are some "mis-calculations" but BS like this, then trying to squirm out of the whole thing is asinine. Even the libs out of CO are laughing at that. The primary thing other states look at every year is your aqua-Farma. This is primary to a huge number of answers to all sorts of your questions. Everything else is based off that. NOT the other way around.

I figure God mocked you, the rest of the world should. Since the rest of the world actually listens and tries to work with the earth, not try to over-ride what it's telling you.

    BTW,

JD was on Fox News Sunday today. Trump and his gang will come through for California.

(For the moment, the brainless mumbler only tells the people in SoCal, "Hey! O just had my first great grandchild!")

Still, DEI silliness and incompetent leadership turned a bad situation into a disaster that will cost the American people tens of $billions.

That's the whole idea behind "country" - we share in the good AND the bad. And i get that you guys don't get it - but CA brings a lot to this country.

  14. by HatetheSwamp on January 12, 2025 12:52 pm

I'm with you, not your dad. California is a hoot!

    I'd visit. I wouldn't live there.

Here's the idea you can't/won't understand. Yes, we share the good and the bad. And like I've said before (that of course you can't/ won't read) is there's a difference between "mistakes" and being stupid little whiney POS's when you make the same mistakes over and over and over and keep blaming it on people besides yourselves. It's useless and makes you look really stupid. CA "may" bring a lot to this country, but they're useless POS. Thusly, more people keep moving OUT of CA instead of in.

“The states with the highest number of outbound moves this year were Louisiana, California, Illinois, South Dakota, and New York, according to Atlas Van Lines.”

Any exodus from CA, IL and NY can be explained because they are big population states with retiring baby boomers. What is the excuse for SD and Louisiana?

OD, I've already told you once - I am not going to engage in your unhinged vitriolic name calling anymore. So if you want to talk to me like an adult - let me know. In the meantime, I wish you and your family all the best in the new year.
