If Biden follows Trump's example and doesn't attend his successor's inauguration, it would be a nice gesture if Biden showed up for Trump's sentencing.

I haven't found any examples of the US Supreme Court ever overturning a criminal conviction in its more than 200 year history. The Supreme Court has ruled in favor of an indigent defendant appealing his conviction and sentence, but that was based on an inadequate, incompetent defense. It still required a retrial. I assume you know that appeals are not retrials. A successful appeal needs to demonstrate some flaw in the trial: a bribed judge or jury, some technical judicial error, wrong law applied, etc. If the Supreme Court agrees to hear the appeal, Trump's lawyers won't be presenting exculpatory evidence.
