The Case for Doing Away with the Department of Education

Many here seem to think that The States will do a better job of establishing education requirements than the Federal Department of Education has, is, or will do.
It seems to me that allowing the states to set education standards is a guaranteed way to ensure that some states will absolutely destroy their young people's futures with a public education that will make what we have now look like a full Stanford scholarship.
I'd like to hear how proponents of destroying the DoE think that it will lead to actually better educations for American children in every state of this country.
Please, make your case:

po,
Re: "It seems to me that allowing the states to set education standards is a guaranteed way to ensure that some states will absolutely destroy their young people's futures..."
I agree. California, for instance.
It seems to me that the issue is that the DOE has so abused its prerogatives... to the point that many of us are convinced that the DOE has to be scrapped so we can start over.
Still, to turn education over to, for example, woke idiots in California or to Neanderthals in, say, Mississippi would do more harm than good.
I don't know what your metaphorical Rachel is reporting but I don't think Trump wants to dissolve the DOE. He does want radically to change it.

Wow. So, I guess that Hate is actually against the destruction of the Department of Education.
Anyone who actually supports doing away with the DoE want to defend that opinion...?
by Ponderer on January 3, 2025 8:54 am
Or at least explain how it's going to make things better for all American students?

Last Trump term, Curt went bonkers over calls for the disbanding of the FBI. Curt assumed that those calls were calls to end the Federal Government's efforts to enforce the law. That was never the case. To see the evil that the FBI has become is not to denounce Federal law.
It's the same with the evils that have been perpetrated on our children by the Department of Education.

Boy is he on a roll today or what?
Literally every single post he has made so far today has been stupid!

What these MAGAs don't understand is that literally everything Trump does is designed to help him personally, and he's been doing that literally his entire life.
Trump wants a federal bureau of investigation that HE controls and which would never investigate him or any of his loyalists. People who can't see that are at the best naive.

Oy freakin friggin EFFINvey, Donna.
What more than a few woke Swampcultists seem to be ignert of is that laws must first be passed by Congress and, if challenged, be deemed constitutional by the courts.
It doesn't matter to what degree the Tangerine Twit is a po-ish narcissist. Ours is a constitutional representative republic.

Like the military, we could easily dismantle 50% of the US "security" (🙄) apparatus and end being MORE safe. That includes the FBI, but the big ones are the NSA and Homeland Security. The expansion of the Capital Police to the rest of the country is nothing more than another stupid jobs program for friends and relatives of DC insiders who can't hold down a real job.
by oldedude on January 3, 2025 5:48 pm I find it humorous this thread is lead by "prove me wrong" and there's no proof. At least no facts about what they have actually admitted what their role in the role of FEDERAL education actually is. So. If you could actually cite some facts to support your argument, I'm all ears.

Says the unemployed "pretend to be artist" who's worst fear is for the government to find it's "buddies" in their complete hatred of the United States. That would make them actually hold down a real job not thrown money by as the entertainment for "manlove thursday."

You know what. Old Dude (or "olddude" - whatever name you're using now)... I'm done with your crybaby nonsense. Let's go all of this new year 2025 without saying anything to each other... in the name of board harmony. I can do it - I know you can't.
This is my last post to you until 2026. Bye. 😘
