Curiously, just t'other day, I was think. Jimmy Carter is the only President I voted for without reservation... perhaps because I was so young.
The former president was born October 1, 1924 in Plains, where he has lived more than 80 of his 100 years. He is expected to mark his birthday in the same one-story home he and Rosalynn built in the early 1960s — before his first election to the Georgia state Senate. The former first lady, who was also born in Plains, died last November at 96.

Still the best president of our lifetimes.

Well, then, compared to what.

He's a Greek golden god president compared to your favorite MAGAt.

Let me start off with two words. I support KK. I support Cackles Mckneepads.
And, even to that "dithering and diminished" "feckless dementia-ridden piece of crap."
And, when Cackles is elected, he'll be faaaaaaar better than she.

It's not that you were just young, Bill. It was before you developed your Democrat Derangement Syndrome. Carter was by far the best choice and should have been reelected.
As history went on to so graphically prove:

The curse of trickle-down economics, which the Republican Party still supports.

The top 1% should be below the top 10% and the top 10% in the middle between the two with the bottom 89%(?) about twice as high as it is.
So far as Carter. let's not also forget what he did in the Middle East - the ONLY ME peace agreement ever struck by a US president. With a second term he probably would have signed another one (or two) with some of those other hardheads.
And then oil. Carter had us on pace to not need any ME oil whatsoever by the 1990s... which means what? No 9/11. No (fake) "war on terror" that has cost this country it's future. No Afghanistan war which put us in an even more precarious position by wasting trillions on pure stupidity (and also purposely arming the taliban)

Me 2
by oldedude on October 1, 2024 4:24 pm The only thing I remember was that we didn't have the equipment to respond next door, much less to the Middle East or anywhere else. It wasn't shoddy equipment, it was body armor and gas for the aircraft we didn't have.
Nice enough guy I guess, and honest. At least if he gave you an answer there weren't fingers crossed behind his back. So I havta give him that.

Speaking of Jimmy Carter, part of my first honeymoon in 1981 was spent at a resort on Paradise Island in the Bahamas, and one night when we were at a casino, we saw Jimmy Carter's mom playing blackjack. She was a real live wire and was attracting a lot of attention. We noticed several men standing near her who gave us the impression that they were her body guards.

You have a good eye. I probably wouldn't have been able to identify Rosalyn - much less Carter's mom.
