‘Fact-check’ on Harris’ work history
Harris has said on the campaign trail and in other public appearances that she worked at McDonald’s while she was a college student. (Trump has asserted on the campaign trail that Harris’ story is a fabrication, but he has not cited clear evidence to contradict her account.)
Harris’ campaign told PolitiFact that Harris worked the cash register and manned the fry and ice cream machines at a McDonald’s in Alameda, California, in the summer of 1983. Harris attended Howard University in Washington, D.C., from 1982 to 1986.
