Kamala Harris Announces First Solo Network Interview Since Democratic Nomination

Vice President Kamala Harris will be interviewed by Stephanie Ruhle in Pittsburgh Wednesday night, in what will be her first one-on-one network interview since becoming the Democratic nominee.

The interview will air on MSNBC at 7 p.m. ET and coincides with Harris' fourth visit to the area since launching her campaign, according to a news release from the Harris campaign. Pennsylvania is a key battleground state; no Democrat has won the White House without the Keystone State since 1948.

MSNBC's announcement follows criticism over the lack of media interviews the vice president has done. Reporting from Axios and The Telegraph earlier in September revealed that the Harris-Walz campaign were giving fewer interviews than any candidates in modern history.

"the Harris-Walz campaign were giving fewer interviews than any candidates in modern history"

I suspect that claim needs many caveats and disclaimers. The Harris campaign is probably the shortest and fastest in modern history as it got off the ground only since Biden dropped out at the end of July. It's fair to say the Harris campaign has been busy with the convention, the debates and the necessary campaigning in the swing states.

I will certainly watch the interview tonight as will people across the nation, but that interview probably doesn't help Harris as much in the electoral college as a rally in a swing state.

Lot of preaching to the choir at rallies. TV reaches more people too.

My first question is,"Who cares?" did someone "make" her run? She should have used the time she had to develop a strategy before this came through. To wait, is an epic fail on her part, and shows her lack of forethought as a dog catcher, much less POTUS.
As much as I don't like Newsome (at all), I think he would have come out with a gameplan on day one. "This is what worked in the prior administration, and this is how I would change it." One! Two! Three!. Done. Kammy doesn't even know why people are better off today after four years of her administration than they were with trumpster (which they're not, but you have to have an answer for that). Basic question. One you ALWAYS look at when choosing a gameplan.

It's fair to say the Harris campaign has been busy with the convention, the debates and the necessary campaigning in the swing states.
I don't think it is. Why weren't these planned for at the beginning. Did they NOT know they were planned? Didn't they figure this out as some of the secondary things to figure out? Line them out. Period. On this date, we MUST have this done. No questions asked. The way to do this is to get to the media which she hasn't done. That shows her extremely weak.

I understand she's had issues with the people she's "hired" for her campaign. Again. No excuse. It shows she doesn't have the management skills to figure out a Schwan's route.

Her whole campaign is a complete goat "rope." There's no cohesion, no theme, no nothing. A few "speeches" that don't say much at all and are repetitive. Trumpster went to GA (he was lookin' for a soul to steal...). It's a state that has received a lot of kudos about how to get good manufacturing jobs in the state. What did he say? He talked about that. It's about a great governor that can make things happen and those things are NOT temp and part-time jobs. With great benefits. THATS how the government works FOR people.

This is a little off-topic, but I laughed out loud this morning at clips of Laura Ingraham and Jesse Watters saying that the Democrats made a big mistake by not sticking with Joe Biden. This, as their own polling is showing that Kamala is taking the lead over Trump.

As they say, you can't make this stuff up!

  5. by Donna on September 27, 2024 11:08 am

Similarly, I had to laugh at olde dude's post where, despite Kamala continuing to rise in the polls to the point that she's now taking the lead over Trump, he points out supposed mistakes she's made.

    Donna,

Since the Oprah debacle, Kammy's been falling in the polls. She says, repeatedly, that she's the underdog. Maybe you should take her at her word.

And, I seriously doubt that you watch Laura Ingraham and Jesse Watters. Very seriously. Very, very.

You got this from the metaphorical Rachel. Ain't? Or, maybe Rachel herself, hmmmm?

  7. by Ponderer on September 27, 2024 11:42 am

We watched a video of her saying it, Bill.

How many hours of watching Fox programs do we have to officially log with you before we are allowed to reference a video that everyone cans see?

    po,

On metaphorical Rachel? Curt's Holy Trinity?

  9. by Donna on September 27, 2024 12:04 pm

So do you, Hts, agree with Ingraham and Watters that the Democrats made a big mistake replacing Biden with Harris?

I can't figure out what advantage that saying that gives them.

  10. by HatetheSwamp on September 27, 2024 12:13 pm

    Donna,

It stuns me to note how confident most in the right-wing media are that KK's going to be slaughtered by Trump. I can't see it myself. But, Ingraham and Watters are two among many... most, really.

What offends me is that the string-pullers and smoke filled room Let's Go Brandoned Joe.

  11. by Donna on September 27, 2024 12:15 pm

Okay, so then you disagree with Ingraham and Watters.

  12. by HatetheSwamp on September 27, 2024 12:18 pm

    DIDN'T I SAY THAT!!!!!?

  13. by Indy! on September 27, 2024 1:06 pm

Funny that MAGAts think Kamala is the one who doesn't know how to run a campaign when Trump has to HIRE people to knock on doors. I can imagine how easy it is to game that system and fleece Trump for doing absolutely nothing except filling out some paperwork and getting paid for it.
