I'm sure you are, po.
Please recall. Ole pb declared that Trump didn't win the June debate with the "dithering and diminished" Doddering Old Fool... only that, the moment the Flatulent Fool accused Trump of supporting the rape of women by their in-laws and brothers and sisters...
... all that pb'd said about the Former Truck Driver's cooked brain was proved correct.
And, recall...
pb's on record predicting that Kammy'll win the debate in a split decision: "...pb says that Kammy'll do well enough to come out slightly ahead from the debate." selectsmart.com
by Ponderer on September 10, 2024 9:41 am
And you of course will be on the Trump side of that split decision. Right. I know.
That's what I am looking forward to. To watch you explain how Trump really won the debate.

po,
I know that you are not stoopid. What I still can't decide is if you're deranged or just a liar.
by Ponderer on September 10, 2024 12:40 pm
Well. As I've already said, you never could read me correctly, Bill. Case in point.

Aren't you glad that Biden had a terrible debate performance last June rather than a simply average or mediocre one?
by Ponderer on September 10, 2024 10:43 pm
It's why the whole party all rallied around her so fast. Everyone knew that she had such better chances of beating Trump than Biden.
by Indy! on September 11, 2024 12:55 am
The post debate numbers were almost identical except flipped - now Trump is on the short end.
by HatetheSwamp on September 11, 2024 5:18 am
It's amazing how much SS is all about pb. Of all that matters about the presidential race, po only cares about what pb thinks. I'm touched.
pb saw what he predicted he'd see in the debate.... mostly.
Kammy did well. Better than OrangeTurdBad. And would have won a narrow victory except for one thing pb didn't predict: the bias of the moderators.
Both Trump and Kammy told the sort of lies that candidates are expected to tell in a campaign setting. And, Trump was fact checked for his lies. Kammy wasn't.
Kammy told the "bloodbath" lie. Nothing from the moderators. And, she advanced the "fine people" hoax. Both egregious lies. The ABC moderators let her lies stand. Unfair. Biased. Typical.
Bottom line: Kammy was more smooth and polished than the Orange Turd. She delivered her lines well, and would have won a slight victory... except for the bias.
The right's take this morning is that Trump faced three opponents last night. pb would not go that far. Still, in pb's opinion, the debate was not conducted fairly.
It'll be interesting to see how much long-term impact the debate will have. But, Kammy may have won the race last night.
by Ponderer on September 11, 2024 8:43 am
"Kammy told the "bloodbath" lie." -Hate
Yeah no. It is not a lie at all.
I know Trump and his brainless zombie followers like you think he covered that statement the way he always tries to to make his comments "perfect". But in context, his lameness at it is clear for all to see...
"China now is building a couple of massive plants, where they're going to build the cars in Mexico and … they think that they're going to sell those cars into the United States with no tax at the border. Let me tell you something to China. If you're listening, President Xi, and you and I are friends, but he understands the way I deal, those big, monster car manufacturing plants that you're building in Mexico right now, and you think you're going to get that, you're going to not hire Americans, and you're going to sell the cars to us, no. We're going to put a 100% tariff on every single car that comes across the line, and you're not going to be able to sell those cars.
"If I get elected. Now, if I don't get elected, it's gonna be a bloodbath for the whole, *that's going to be the least of it. It's going to be a bloodbath for the country. That'll be the least of it. But they're not gonna sell those cars." -DJT
*"That", by reason of the way the English language works, refers to the subject of the car industry and how it will collapse that he was just addressing in the previous paragraph. And he said that (the American car company being destroyed) is going to be "the least of it".
He said that a bloodbath will follow if he doesn't get elected, and the destruction of the American car company will be the least part of the bloodbath. So then what other aspects of the bloodbath is he insinuating will be far greater than the loss of the American car company? if that's the least of it, what's the worst of it that he was blatantly implying would occur?
So yeah. It is not a lie to say that he declared there will be a bloodbath if he loses. Not a lie at all.
by Ponderer on September 11, 2024 8:45 am
"And, she advanced the "fine people" hoax. Both egregious lies." -Hate
Yeah no. Neither were lies at all.
You're flailing now as badly as your Golden Calf was last night.

"The right's take this morning is that Trump faced three opponents last night." -Hate
It would be. There was absolutely nothing whatsoever unfair about the hosts or their treatment of the candidates. They didn't call Harris out for lying because she wasn't lying. Meanwhile, they didn't call Trump out on the vast majority of the lies he told last night. He deserved far "harsher" treatment than he certainly got.
Trump just did such a piss-poor job that he has to blame everyone else but himself. He was his own worst adversary last night.
What a gigantic, whining, butt-hurt crybaby of a man he is.
A Landslide I'm tellin' ya.....
by Indy! on September 11, 2024 9:57 am
Yep. That's why I said Kamala was actually treated harsher. They asked tough questions of her and she actually answered them. They threw Trump a bunch of softballs, he didn't answer anything and when he went into his stupor villain monologues he just lied his ass off on 20 or 30 things and they only called him out on 1 or 2 all night. They never made him answer the question the way they did with Kamala.
So far as Charlottesville - here is the full quote from the "fine people" thing...
Reporter: "The neo-Nazis started this. They showed up in Charlottesville to protest --"
Trump: "Excuse me, excuse me. They didn’t put themselves -- and you had some very bad people in that group, but you also had people that were very fine people, on both sides. You had people in that group. Excuse me, excuse me. I saw the same pictures as you did. You had people in that group that were there to protest the taking down of, to them, a very, very important statue and the renaming of a park from Robert E. Lee to another name."
The key part is actually in the question - the reporter is asking SPECIFICALLY ABOUT THE NEO-NAZIS and Trump answers there were "very fine people" in that group. No, sorry - there are ZERO "very fine" neo-nazis in this world, Mr. Lardass.

Okay, I accept that. Snopes is an authoritative source. And of course you always agree with snopes, Hts, right?
by Curt_Anderson on September 11, 2024 11:15 amIn sum, while Trump did say that there were "very fine people on both sides," he also specifically noted that he was not talking about neo-Nazis and white supremacists and said they should be "condemned totally." Therefore, we have rated this claim "False." — Snopes
So who else besides neo-Nazis and white supremacists were marching and carrying Tiki torches on that side?
Anyway, Harris said last night, as I recall, that Trump said “there were very fine people on both sides”. She was correct. He said it. He could have explained who he meant on that ugly side.
Trump was fact checked more because he repeated falsehoods which he has often repeated before therefore have been fact-checked before. If Harris made any false statements they were new so the moderators were not prepared to rebut them.

by meagain on September 11, 2024 11:35 am I broke dow and spent some of my valuable time watching most of the debate. It was worth it for the amusement I have concluded that Trump is an underrated and misunderstood Comedian. He would be a valuable asset to Monte Python.
According to after debate pools, 63% say Harris won: and 37% Trump. That seems about right. I would expect 37% to support Trump if all he had done was introduce himself and spend te next 90 minutes just sucking his thumb.
The most significant finding was that only 4% said they might change their votes.
That leaves Harris perhaps a little bit better off.
I thought the moderators did a good job but were a bit too lenient towards Trump in allowing him in response to make the most outrageous claims without Harris having a chance to rebut them.
Overall, Harris destroyed Trump who was a gibbering ape most of the time who rarely spoke a sentence that related to the topic.
Harris carefully and deliberately, I thought, avoided taking to progressive a position. America is not ready for that. Her response n climate change was disappointing when she indicated she would support fracking and more production. She did not properly answer the false claim in jobs ther, by Trump. Climate action so far, has created far more jobs that have been lost through coal's diminishing.
She is an accomplished debater who was constrained by political necessities to be more moderate than I suspect she is.
Abortion and the passion she evinced ther was her best part and, after reflection, I suspect it will bring more Trump women over.
The big flaw in the debate was that climate change was treated as an afterthought when it is the most serious issue that America is facing as well as the rest of the world. It has been estimated that Trump's policies will lead to climate damages amounting to $900 billion extra - if only money is to be considered. The vast number of excess deaths would not matter to a gun-crazed nation.
Harris impressed me and it is obvious that her schooling in Canada has enriched her conscience.

Just to clarify on the Snopes thing - they changed their opinion on that one. For 7(?) years they said the exact opposite. One of the founders of Snopes was also kicked out for shading the truth. Like every "fact checker" they have an agenda too.
by Curt_Anderson on September 11, 2024 11:52 am[Harris] "was constrained by political necessities to be more moderate than I suspect she is." --Meagain
That may be true. But since Congress in both chambers is likely be to closely divided again, she will, constrained by political necessities, have to accept more moderate positions.
by Indy! on September 11, 2024 11:55 am
I doubt it. People seem to be forgetting one of the big reasons no one wanted her the first time around was due to her conservative policies on a lot of things. She's a democrat - I sincerely doubt she is a progressive who will be pushing any liberal policies outside of the abortion stuff.
by Ponderer on September 11, 2024 11:19 pm
A "dingbat" kicked his ass all over that stage last night. Like she's a professor of ass kicking.
by Indy! on September 12, 2024 12:21 am
Reporters need to follow up on that… “Mr. Trump, what does it feel like losing a debate to a dingbat?” 🎤🤔
