Trump’s comments to a group of Christian conservatives were interpreted by many Democrats as evidence he would end elections. Fox News’s Laura Ingraham repeatedly urged him to rebut that framing. Trump wouldn't walk that statement back.

If Trump made any effort to explain that he didn't mean elections won't be necessary/happening again if he is elected, I'd like somebody to quote his refuting that characterization. Fair warning: there is a lot of Trumpian meandering and rambling to wade through.

    Christians and gun owners don't vote? If that were true, there wouldn't be any elected Rs in office anywhere right now.

    Ridiculous, right? There is zero evidence that gun owners and Christians are lackadaisical voters. Nobody thinks that besides Trump. I've never heard any pundit or politician say that.

    The reason Republicans run mostly on cultural issues related to guns and Bibles is because gun owners and Christians show up at the polls.

    Our two Trump supporters are in denial of his very undemocratic plans for our country. Trump and his MAGAs are very obviously planning to usurp our election process and install an authoritarian dictatorship, and they've indicated that they will use violence if necessary. Whether or not they'll be able to pull it off is besides the point; the threat alone is our country's biggest problem now, not the Democrats, and not Kamala Harris.

    This is happening because as presidential election results have shown with only one exception this century (2004), Republican presidential candidates can't win the popular vote anymore. They only reason Dumb Donald has even a slim chance of winning now is because of the very undemocratic electoral college. But they see the writing on the wall that winning, even with that advantage, is becoming increasingly difficult, which is why we see them out there now rallying around the idea of installing a Trump dictatorship by force.

    The only reason they won it in 2004 is because we were in the middle of the Iraq war and the better D candidates didn't want responsibility for Bush's dumb mistake of getting us involved over there. Kerry was basically Dukakis 2.0 - a guy who never should have been on the ticket.

    And if the Republican Supremes hadn't handed GWB the election in 2000, there would have been no Dem challenger in 2004.

    They can't win with a majority of support in presidential election anymore, so they've resorted to taking the presidency by force with plans to cancel all future presidential elections so that they can control the executive branch 4ever.

    Perhaps the lack of posting on this thread by our resident MAGA Hats can be attributed to a little clandestine research on their own parts, and they've realized just how out of control this whole Project 2024 Agenda of the MAGA Republicans and Trumps's is...?

    I have no doubt Trump meant cancel the elections. He realizes he blew it last time by allowing the 2020 election to take place. Now he wants back in and the only thing he's going to address is the 2 year term thing - either eliminate it or eliminate elections altogether.
