Trump said tariffs will cause prices to drop. So why is he warning manufacturers not to raise prices?

The CPI, a broad measure of goods and services costs across the economy, rose 0.4% for the month, putting the 12-month inflation rate at 3.5%, or 0.3 percentage point higher than in February, the Labor Department's Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Wednesday. Economists surveyed by Dow Jones had been looking for a 0.3% gain and a 3.4% year-over-year level.

Excluding volatile food and energy components, core CPI also accelerated 0.4% on a monthly basis while rising 3.8% from a year ago, compared with respective estimates for 0.3% and 3.7%.

Abortion or lousy economy. Which issue will settle the election?

It depends on the individual. Limousine liberals in their caddie soccer mom SUVs may think the issue is "abortion" because they aren't near as affected by the 25% jump in food prices. They might sit back and believe it might be the abortion issue. That said, the single mom of color with two or three kids is going to think the opposite. Especially when she's working two part-time jobs with questionable "benefits." Who is more apt to vote? The suburban wifey is generally the one that votes. The issue here is the woman with so much at stake has more incentive to take the time to vote.

Again,, we're back to Maslow and basic human (and animal) needs.
