"But"...We can all now watch their hero's numbers begin to decline as the Putin/Trump faction of what used to be the GOP begins to dwindle. Watch them as they try to wash away, hide, and cover up their past support for Trump. And the 2024 campaign is just beginning. 👍

"John Kelly, the longest-serving White House chief of staff for Donald Trump, offered his harshest criticism yet of the former president in an exclusive statement to CNN.

Kelly set the record straight with on-the-record confirmation of a number of damning stories about statements Trump made behind closed doors attacking US service members and veterans, listing a number of objectionable comments Kelly witnessed Trump make firsthand.

“What can I add that has not already been said?” Kelly said, when asked if he wanted to weigh in on his former boss in light of recent comments made by other former Trump officials. “A person that thinks those who defend their country in uniform, or are shot down or seriously wounded in combat, or spend years being tortured as POWs are all ‘suckers’ because ‘there is nothing in it for them.’ A person that did not want to be seen in the presence of military amputees because ‘it doesn’t look good for me.’ A person who demonstrated open contempt for a Gold Star family – for all Gold Star families – on TV during the 2016 campaign, and rants that our most precious heroes who gave their lives in America’s defense are ‘losers’ and wouldn’t visit their graves in France.
ADVERTISING

“A person who is not truthful regarding his position on the protection of unborn life, on women, on minorities, on evangelical Christians, on Jews, on working men and women,” Kelly continued. “A person that has no idea what America stands for and has no idea what America is all about. A person who cavalierly suggests that a selfless warrior who has served his country for 40 years in peacetime and war should lose his life for treason – in expectation that someone will take action. A person who admires autocrats and murderous dictators. A person that has nothing but contempt for our democratic institutions, our Constitution, and the rule of law."

“There is nothing more that can be said,” Kelly concluded. “God help us.”...CNN

    Hey, buddy,

You've not been around continually lately so, apparently, you don't know that pb announced that he'll be voting No Labels, if there's a candidate. It appears that there will be...and, as Curt refers to her, the PILF, i.e., Tulsi has refused to say she won't run on it.

But, buddy. Reconnect to the real world!

TRUMP IS LEADING THE DODDERING OLD FOOL ACCORDING TO THE RCP INDEX!!!!! (See link)

Apparently, many, many,...many people are anxious to vote Trump.

First, WTF you have a picture of MILLEY and not KELLY is beyond me. I mean, their names are on their uniforms.... All you have to do is look if you don't know who you're talking about.

I'm open enough to know my views and core beliefs. pedojoe is a trainwreck that keeps on giving. I would never vote for him. Ever. ever. ever (ala taytay). So. Who's left? I don't know yet. Tulsi, good option. Nikki? good option. Ron? less of a great option. We all know that you're a good little german that will only do what you're told to do. That's fine. You're like the Scarecrow. "If I only had a brain!"

    isle,

Check this brief video on the latest Monmouth poll. It seems that the developing question is who still plans to vote for Biden.

Since you asked about Trump, are you still on board with the Doddering Old Fool?

    View Video

  4. by oldedude on October 3, 2023 6:18 am
Sorry, the picture didn't link. And I know all old white guys in uniform look the same, Milley is Army, Kelly is a Marine. vast difference, and different uniforms.

  5. by islander on October 3, 2023 6:31 am

When General Kelly said, “A person [Trump] that has no idea what America stands for and has no idea what America is all about. A person who cavalierly suggests that a selfless warrior who has served his country for 40 years in peacetime and war should lose his life for treason – in expectation that someone will take action.”

Guess who Kelly was talking about when he said “a selfless warrior who has served his country for 40 years in peacetime and war”, the very person Trump suggested should lose his life for treason.

If you don’t know…See the photo of General Milley in my opening statement.

Hate, who voted for Trump twice and has said in the past that he would vote for him again over Biden has recently said, “I’m getting to the point that I won’t be able to cast a vote for Trump, as much as I hate the swamp”.

That in itself was good news and it proves my point. We can all now watch their hero's numbers begin to decline as the Putin/Trump faction of what used to be the GOP begins to dwindle. Watch them as they try to wash away, hide, and cover up their past support for Trump. And the 2024 campaign is just beginning. “ 👍

  6. by HatetheSwamp on October 3, 2023 6:54 am

    isle,

Perhaps you didn't see my question. Are you still on board as a Biden voter?

Y'know the Cornel West Green Party candidacy has created a stir.

FYI, RFK, Jr. has been saying that he's going to make an announcement related to his campaign... in PHILADELPHIA... in October. Big news here. Rumblings are that he's going to run as a Libertarian. And, of course, the No Labels thing appears to be shaping up.

pb thinks that it is extremely likely that no candidate will receive 50% of the popular vote in 024.

So, isle, how bout you? Is your SwampBlue ardor so intense that you still plan to vote SwampDem in 024?

You can tell us. No shame.

  7. by Ponderer on October 3, 2023 7:20 am

Bill, if RFK, Jr runs as something other than a Democrat, would you consider voting for him?

I could imagine you thinking that he was someone you could enjoy sitting around a table with, enjoying your lithium treatments together at the clinic.

  8. by islander on October 3, 2023 7:43 am

I was never one of those who were conned by Trump and the Putin/Trump propaganda machine’s attempt to smear and denigrate Biden, so if Biden is the Democratic nominee there is no reason for me not to vote for him. Biden has been doing an excellent job so far. He has been doing the very things I wanted him to do despite the Putin/Trump GOP’s efforts smear and block him.

  9. by Ponderer on October 3, 2023 7:47 am

I'm with you, Isle. I'm not as happy with everything he's done or hasn't done. But he's done a fine job as president. Better than I expected even when I voted for him the first time.

  10. by HatetheSwamp on October 3, 2023 7:48 am

Thanks for your clear and concise reply and,...

Bless your heart. You part of an increasingly miniscule minority who think Joe's nailing it. Good for you. However, if you remain true to Joe, by election day, I'm guessing that you'll be one of a very small crowd.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

  11. by oldedude on October 3, 2023 7:54 am
Isle, You were clear who you were talking about, and I understood the entire post. No issue there. Milley had absolutely zero to do with the post though, Kelly did. I just didn't understand a completely irrelevant picture of another general.

And yes, I get asked this ad nauseum about how anyone that served could even like trumpster. My answer remains the same. If it came down to pedojoe and trumpster, it's the better than the two known evils. And I believe pedojoe has done far more evil and will continue to do so. Not that I think either one of them will be here in the end. The DNC is working hard to get pedojoe out of the running. The more he "talks" (without his mic being cut) the more gets into trouble.

"There were interesting signs today that the tide seems to be turning against the MAGA Republicans elsewhere, too. In an op-ed in the New York Times, former South Carolina representative Bob Inglis told his “Fellow Republicans: It’s Time to Grow Up.” He expressed regret for his votes in 1995 to shut down the government and in 1998 to impeach President Bill Clinton, and for his opposition to addressing climate change on the grounds that if Al Gore was for it, Republicans should be against it.

But he had come to realize that “the fight wasn’t against Al Gore; it was against climate change. Just as the challenge of funding the government isn’t a referendum on Speaker McCarthy; it’s a challenge of making one out of many—E pluribus unum—and of bringing the country together to do basic things.” He called on Republicans to remember that we must face the huge challenges in our future together: language that echoes President Joe Biden, who has been making that pitch since he took office.

The fight over funding the government has contributed to growing pressure on the extremists. The chaos in the Republican Party as the factions fought each other with no plan to fund the government until McCarthy finally had to rely on the Democrats for help passing a continuing resolution was a sign that the extremists’ power is at risk. >>> HCR

"There were interesting signs today that the tide seems to be turning against the MAGA Republicans elsewhere, too.

Except that Trump's doing better in polls than ever.

  14. by islander on October 3, 2023 12:45 pm

And do you really think that polls more than a year out mean anything ?

Keep watching the polls and then tell me again what they are saying 90 days from now !

  15. by HatetheSwamp on October 3, 2023 12:50 pm

I think that the polls are a snapshot.

Right now, the Trump arrow points upward and the Dodderer is tanking.

As far as I know, no one one SS says they'll vote for Trump but, at the moment, many millions of moderates and independents will...and that number is increasing.

  16. by islander on October 3, 2023 1:22 pm

It's a hopeful sign that our two Trump voters here on SS have come to see the light, although I'm not quite sure about od.

Like I said though; "Keep watching the polls and then tell me again what they are saying 90 days from now , let me know what they say about Trump's standing.

    I'll remind you.

  17. by HatetheSwamp on October 3, 2023 1:36 pm

    Please do.

Joe continues to become increasingly cognitively and physically frail. Even if Curt's Holy Trinity continues the cover-up, evidence is filtering to the people Donna calls Low Information Voters.

I'm pretty sure that many moderates and independents have already decided not to vote for Biden. Will they vote for Trump? Who knows?, but his claim that prosecutors and courts are engaging in election interference seems to be picking up some traction, turning him into a sympathetic figure.

  18. by islander on October 3, 2023 2:09 pm

Are you fooled by Trump's claims?

  19. by HatetheSwamp on October 3, 2023 2:24 pm

    isle,

I know that you come and go here, but I've noted what?, hundreds of times? I despise Trump. I support Ron DeSantis for President...still.

I plan to vote No Labels in 024.

  20. by oldedude on October 3, 2023 7:17 pm

I'm extremely disappointed that isle feels that his "his" "mission" to change us like a new bourne Christian would expect. That is repulsive to me. I own my thoughts. For 50 years, I've been on MY path. I've lived on three additional continents other than North America. I have a pretty good grasp of what I've seen and know that no one will bend to my will on these issues. Everyone has their own core values that we will not bend on. I respect that. Mind you, I don't agree with this group much, and it's their core values. The people I don't respect are those that don't respect me for not yielding to their whims. Or respect human life. I've witnessed people who don't do that. It sickens me.

Yes Hate, I know you have announced your disclaimer at the end of your posts countless times. We know you say you hate Trump…However…Know this…The more you repeat it the phonier it sounds. You make it perfectly clear in your posts that you love the things Trump does.

You use Trump as food to feed your hatred of us. ”Us” being the progressives, the people you call ”The Swamp”.

    We all get that.

I think you are intelligent enough to know that you cannot support Trump publicly without appearing to be one of what you call ”the inbreds”, the Trump supporters who attend his rallies, but you can still use Trump for your own perceived benefit.

However despite all that, as I said before, I’m glad to see that you have made it to the point where you can now say right here on SS that you won’t vote for Trump a third time.

Up until now, you have been in the unenviable position of having to vote for someone you say you hate. I can’t even begin to imagine what that must be like.

And no…Your phony claim that Joe Biden would hurt our country more than Trump doesn’t cut it…Not by a long shot.

Joe has been doing a remarkable job of guiding or country through these most difficult of times when our Republic’s experiment with Democracy and the rule of law is being viciously attacked, and the possibility of our country becoming a nation ruled by an authoritarian strongman is very very real.

  22. by Ponderer on October 4, 2023 7:17 am

It's still a mystery to me how Hate has made it his mission to incessantly support and defend a man who he thinks is so despicable.

Some mysteries in life we are just never going to solve.

  23. by HatetheSwamp on October 4, 2023 7:21 am

Yes Hate, I know you have announced your disclaimer at the end of your posts countless times. We know you say you hate Trump…However…Know this…The more you repeat it the phonier it sounds. You make it perfectly clear in your posts that you love the things Trump does.

There's nuthin in this world like progressive claims of omniscience. You ain't po, but you are good.

The truth is that I mostly repeat my claim to despise Trump in response to our Dems'... mostly Curt, sometimes you... in your face threads detailing Trump's despicable behavior, with the implication that every GOP shares his shame. And, I don't share his shame.

You use Trump as food to feed your hatred of us. ”Us” being the progressives, the people you call ”The Swamp”.

You are not the Swamp. You are SwampLovers.

    Still, please link to examples.

As to my commitment not to vote for Trump a third time. Honestly, it's "one small step for" pb. As I've made clear many times, my two votes for Trump were votes against the alternatives, i.e., Hillary and "that feckless dementia-ridden piece of crap." I always voted against him in the Primaries. This time, pb's confident that they'll be meaningful other choices...very possibly the, as Curt notes, PILF, Tulsi Gabbard.

You? While we all of us have preferences and prejudices that we bring with us to every moment of our lives, you do that with unusual unabashed aplomb. Hence, you continue to assess the guy still imploring God to "save the Queen, man" as performing the duties of his office with excellence. Nice. "Not that there's anything wrong with that." But, you are among an increasingly miniscule minority embracing that truth. Good for you.

    Kierkegaard would be proud.

  24. by Ponderer on October 4, 2023 8:28 am

Omniscience has nothing to do with it, Bill. What Isle, Curt, Donna, and myself are telling you is from simple observation.

And don't fool yourself. You share Trump's shame just as much as anyone who ever voted for him does. Sorry, Bill. That's just the way it goes. That's just the way things work. You helped put him where he could do all this damage. You don't get a pass for that.

  25. by oldedude on October 4, 2023 9:34 am
Once again, they are in the prison of two thoughts. "If you're not in complete lockstep, chanting the exact same thing we are, you're a xenophobic, racist, (whatever else they want to put their hatred to), another word(s) for a less than human (use a jjpo expletive here).

I've showed that a couple of times when I asked for a way for them to actually solve a conundrum. No one was willing to even think of a way to negotiate. That's sad that a human being doesn't have an ability to see anyway to think anything could be a reasonable ground other than a full capitulation of the rest of the world to their view.

  26. by HatetheSwamp on October 5, 2023 8:14 am

If I could give our SS colleagues a holiday gift, OD, it'd be two or three died-in-the-wool MAGAs.

Then po wouldn't have to fantasize about you and me.

  27. by Indy! on October 5, 2023 8:27 am

Responding to the original post only... the problem is everyone already knows all that stuff. It was in the news, they made a big stink about it when it happened and Red MAGA didn't care. Why would they care now - years later?
