Lead, if anything is different, please let me know. 1. Since the National Archives has the information, the first assumption is that these are US Government accounts. 2. Since they are federal government accounts, they cannot be set up by the user. They must be initiated by the security officer and sent to the IT folks. The SO will tell IT what restrictions will be on each account. A. NIPR accounts cannot be classified (they are considered FOUO or below). B. SIPR accounts are for Secret and below. C. JWICS accounts are for TS and below, 3. Therefore. These accounts were created by a Security officer of the Whitehouse. 4. Most politicians have a couple of accounts used for business. One for the "contact your politician" that some junior lacky on the staff reads. Another may be used for open source communication. The initial email is for a select group. Other politicians, things like that. There is no reasonable expectation of anything more than this, especially if he was doing outside business on them, which is just stupid. Unless you want to get caught. Long story short. He had to have assistance to have these accounts. Start on the IT folks and see how these were done. Start there. The IT folks should give up all the info. These folks' clearances are at least as high as the users they serve if that tells you anything. They'll be squawking in a heartbeat. by oldedude on September 4, 2023 7:17 am Also, by any stretch of the imagination, ALL emails on a government computer are subject to search and seizure. Since it's done on a government computer, the government has a legal right to search your government computer and history. Also, it's impossible for a personal computer to be LAN'd into the government system. If that happens, IT gets an immediate location of the source, and they'll confiscate the computer that's on it and do a full history on the computer and its history. They also keep the IP address of all emails. So if I were to use a computer in our office downtown, it would show that. If I'm remote, it would show that.
