    I am sure all of Obama's guests will be fully vaccinated. Even without masks or social distancing there is minimal health risk.

    Incidentally my wife will be on Martha's Vineyard in a couple of weeks to visit family. I opted not to come.

    I was there a few times as a child but couldn't appreciate it. Once as an adult, pre-Obama.

    It's the optics of The ONE's gathering that will be problematic.

    I don't know if I can explain it any better than I did. It is very wokey to be handwringing about optics. Obama's event with all attendees vaccinated being outside and in well-ventilated indoor areas is infinitely safer than every airliner packed with a mix of vaccinated and unvaccinated passengers.

    Your progressive do-as-I-say-not-as-I-do hypocrisy is fueling indies and other purple people to despise you.

    Gavin Newsom is facing recall because of optics, don't you know...is the most vivid crimson of red states.

    I'm curious to see how much official coverage of Obama's soiree is permitted by the SwampMedia. I doubt that there will be much. People who are still cautious about having the neighbors over for some shrimp on the barbie will resent this.

    That you don't get this stuns me. I will be looking for pictures or videos taken from phones and, while you won't hear much about this on Rachel, this already is...and will continue to be...a big deal.

    Newsom DID apparently violate some edict or at least an official recommendation not to dine with others during the pandemic. That's more than bad optics.

    What Obama has planned for tomorrow seems to be well within health and safety guidelines. I don't know that anybody is or needs to be nervous about attending a BBQ if all participants are vaccinated. I mentioned that I have been outdoors eating and drinking with my vaccinated friends. No masks, no worries.

    Even without Covid there is always a health risk when getting together with people. There are various food-borne illnesses at restaurant and parties. In any public setting somebody might have a some communicable disease. There is food poisoning and unsanitary conditions. What Obama is doing is less risky as a visit to any restaurant.

    You are a guy who believes that vaccinations are a personal choice. You oppose vaccination requirements and mandates. I believe you called efforts to shame and cajole people to vaccinate "fascist". What do you consider unhealthy and unsafe about Obama's birthday festivities?
