Tulsi:
"Today’s Democratic Party has led us to the brink of nuclear war. The party is led by cowardly warmongers who are firmly in the grips of the military industrial complex, and don’t know or care about the cost of war, or who pays the price."

by oldedude on June 20, 2023 5:29 am This is why I would love Tulsi to be a contender. I'm sure she could get trumpster nasty with name calling, but I've never seen that. No "us v them," she just lays it out.
I am going to disagree with her (slightly) on one point. This only has to do with the timing of nuclear war. The introduction of nuclear weapons is a sure MAD. Everyone knows that. My guess it would be a coordinated attack by RUS, CH, Iran, DPRK, and other minor players. We would get a day or two notice as they warm up their sites.
The introduction of chemical weapons is more viable and has been used by Russia for the past 50 years, including recent confirmed activity in Iraq and Syria. To date, the US hasn't done anything to curtail their use. This implies to Russia that the US is unwilling to engage Russia on the matter using British Bobby reasoning (HALT! OR I'LL SAY HALT AGAIN!). In fairness, this is a tough subject to tangle with.
Trichothecene was used in southeast asia by the russians and is a horrible, efficient, and short-lasting chemical. Typically, it starts killing immediately, there is no counter to the chemical. It destroys soft cell tissue, and takes between 20 minutes to 1.5 hours to die. The best thing about the chemical, is that within 24 hours, it's effectiveness is reduced by 80%+, leaving the invading army to take the ground without resistance. en.wikipedia.org
by Curt_Anderson on June 20, 2023 3:48 pm Four years ago Tulsi Gabbard was the darling of the lunatic fringe on the left. As I've said before here the political spectrum is not linear but circular. The populist loons on the left and right overlap. The supposed Democrat Tulsi had no problem making a slight shift to FOX News Republicanism.
by Indy! on June 20, 2023 4:14 pm Curt hates people who bring the truth.
by oldedude on June 20, 2023 7:17 pm so #1. I quit watching FoxNews. Except for Outnumbered.
#2. everyone that doesn't believe in you being the sacred cow is on the lunatic fringe. Is it that the dims can't take anyone that doesn't wear jack boots and a brown uniform?
#3. It seems the populist party was pretty friggin liberal in their day.... You might want to actually learn about that.
#4. Just face it. You a hater of her. Personally. Because she doesn't agree with you and is therefore a threat to your existence.
#5. I can't believe you took ONE FUKKING SENTENCE of the whole post and bitched about that. You completely forgot about what I was talking about.
welcome, I guess, to sheeple. All bleating in unison....
by Curt_Anderson on June 20, 2023 9:05 pm OD,
I was responding to HtS's reference to Tulsi Gabbard, not yours.
The old Populist Party was progressive on many but not all issues. Populists can be right-wingers like the MAGA crowd or left-wingers like the Bernie Bros. Hitler was a populist. So was Huey Long. Both professed to represent "real people".
I am not a fan of populism. They spend too much time bashing and scapegoating immigrants, bankers, poor people, billionaires, minorities or whatever group they blame for their problems.
I am a left leaning pluralist. I philosophically recognize and appreciate political diversity, which permits the peaceful coexistence of different interests, convictions, and lifestyles.
I made a selector that indicates your political worldview vis a vis populism, pluralism, etc. See link.
It's not nuclear or chemical but Russia's demolition of a dam in the Ukraine shows their callous disregard for human life, especially civilians.

by Indy! on June 21, 2023 12:41 am Outside of maybe abortion rights, I doubt you “lean left” on anything, Curt. You’re mistaking the Ds for “the left”. They”re corporatists - rightwingers.

Whada load of crap!
You?, a, as po'd say, an EFFIN pluralist!!!!!? Curt, we read your posts. No one here believes that. Baha.

The genius of the uniparty is that is provides left and right options. Curt really is left leaning. But, he buys into the dysfunctional DC political culture...my Swamp. He is a blue MAGA, as you'd say.
by Ponderer on June 21, 2023 5:47 am
You better listen to Hate, Curt. He knows more about you than you do. He knows more about anybody than they do.
by HatetheSwamp on June 21, 2023 9:21 am
po,
I agreed with Curt's self-assessment.
by Indy! on June 21, 2023 10:18 am Actually the uniparty provides right and far right options. Every D candidate except Bernie Sanders that ran in 2020 falls not only on the right - but DEEP on the right. And Bernie is not that left either - especially now after a hard right turn following his capitulation to the Ds plan to coronate Biden.
by HatetheSwamp on June 21, 2023 10:24 am
So, our most fierce SwampLovers here, Curt, po and isle are righties? Ya think?
by Indy! on June 21, 2023 11:07 am Everybody in DC is a swamp reptile, peebs. There aren't any clean shirt sleeves (as my grandmother liked to say). But yeah - they're all righties. Pondy is the least right. Curt, Donna, Isle, the other one who just showed up (Hunter?)... right in the middle of right. If you like Biden you might as well be voting R because that's what you're getting.
by Donna on June 21, 2023 12:27 pm
LOL! "Ponderer" and I agree on everything.
by Indy! on June 21, 2023 3:17 pm Well, I could be wrong about Pondy. I've been away for awhile.
by Donna on June 21, 2023 3:19 pm
We vote identically too.
by Indy! on June 21, 2023 6:07 pm Voting has very little to do with a person's politics - especially if you're voting for the Red/Blue party.
by HatetheSwamp on June 22, 2023 12:13 am
Donna,
I have no doubt that po and you vote identically. She spews hate hete as easily as she breathes. Her "votes" portend SwampDem evil. Yours?, strong opinion. Big diff.
