The only question at this point is how soon before he begins officially rotting?

Given all of Trump’s criminality it is perfect that Trump has f**ked himself with his hubris and stupidity.

  2. by Ponderer on June 9, 2023 1:09 pm

Curt, don't you just get a warm, fuzzy feeling deep in your soul when grokking the reality that you never at any point in your political life ever supported this man in any way? Let alone ever supported him with your vote? Even once? Let alone twice?

  3. by HatetheSwamp on June 9, 2023 1:09 pm

So long as "that feckless dementia-ridden piece of crap's" indicted, we get something close to equal justice. Otherwise,...

  4. by Ponderer on June 9, 2023 1:45 pm

Well never lose hope, Bill. Biden may very well do something illegal someday that he could be held accountable for like Trump is being now. I don't happen to think he ever will.

But you hang on to that if it helps you get through all this. I know it's gotta be hard for you right now. You've supported him for so long after all.

  5. by Curt_Anderson on June 9, 2023 1:50 pm
    Ponderer,
I never watched The Apprentice either.

What makes it even sweeter is knowing Biden will never be indicted but Trump will be indicted probably one or two more times.

  6. by HatetheSwamp on June 9, 2023 2:03 pm

Didn't Rachel report on all the classified documents the Doddering Old Fool squirreled away...some of which he kept in his garage beside his gas guzzling Corvette?

    He did.

Many were from his Senate days when he could only have classified documents because he, as po'd say, EFFIN stole them.

When "that feckless dementia-ridden piece of crap's" indicted, pb'll believe in something remotely resembling equal justice.

  7. by Curt_Anderson on June 9, 2023 2:39 pm
    HtS,
Biden wasn't and won't be indicted for simply having classified documents. Either was Mike Pence. They did their own searches and sheepishly returned any and all classified documents in their possession. Neither of those guys tried to stonewall the National Archives and DOJ or put up a fuss about returning the documents.

Donald Trump was indicted for the willful retention of classified document which included national defense secrets, obstruction of justice and conspiracy, among other things.

HtS, read what the conservative-leaning New York Post has to say about Donald Trump’s indictment. Suffice to say they take it much more seriously than you do.

“Trump is charged with 37 counts of conspiracy to obstruct justice, willful retention of national defense information, withholding a document, false statements and related offenses that carry prison terms totaling hundreds of years.”

The title of the article below is “Experts weigh in on ‘earth-shattering’ federal indictment against Trump: ‘Uphill battle’”.

Even Fox has been calling it what it is all day. When the announcement was made, I was switching back and forth between Fox and MSNBC. Fox was barely able to sugar coat anything.

I find it amusing, Bill, that you think that the Rule of Law in this country is banana republic stuff. The evidence against Trump is going to flabbergast you once it gets to you regardless of your stringent attempts to keep it from doing so. It's more damning than anyone ever imagined.

And he did it all to himself.

  12. by Curt_Anderson on June 9, 2023 6:42 pm
I didn’t watch Fox, but I switched between CNN and MSNBC. CNN seems solemn and serious. MSNBC is definitely jolly.

I did check foxnews.com. Here is what they hear over there:
TURLEY: It is an extremely damning indictment. There are indictments that are sometimes called narrative or speaking indictments. These are indictments that are really meant to make a point as to the depth of the evidence. There are some indictments that are just bare bones. This is not. The special counsel knew that there would be a lot of people who were going to allege that the Department of Justice was acting in a biased or politically motivated way.

This is clearly an indictment that was drafted to answer those questions. It’s overwhelming in details. And, you know, the Trump team should not fool itself, these are hits below the waterline. These are witnesses who apparently testified under oath, gave statements to federal investigators, both of which can be criminally charged if they’re false. Those witnesses are directly quoting the president in encouraging others not to look for documents or allegedly to conceal them. It’s damaging.

  13. by HatetheSwamp on June 10, 2023 7:35 am

Curt didn't watch Fox. Oy! Whodathunk that!!!!!

My boycott of Fox doesn't extend to Fox Business. So I know something about what's being said there. Clearly, Turley is in a class by himself...and more inclined to think in theoretical legal terms. From what I have seen on Business the take is remarkably similar to pb's. I.e., there will only be equal justice if "that feckless dementia-ridden piece of crap's" indicted. All of the documents he had from his Senate days were outright stolen. He had no right whatsoever to possess them whatsoever.

My general sense is that Fox's big picture take on the Trump indictment is that it proves that Trump's being persecuted, not prosecuted...which is true.

And, since I'm certain that you don't know, Fox is extremely pro DeSantis this time around so accusations of Trumpism are out of bounds.

"Just as many have Trump fatigue, many also have DOJ fatigue. This is the third consecutive election in which Trump is being hounded by allegations of crimes."

You really should read the indictment, Bill. What a page-turner! Spells out his undeniable, inexcusable, indefensible crimes in timeline detail. I'll link to it below for you. Read it before you make yourself look even stupider than you have already for so slavishly defending such a wanton career criminal.

Trump is in no way being "persecuted". For a criminal with the scope of his crimes, he's being treated with kid gloves. He flagrantly and demonstrable committed dozens of felonies, Bill. He needs to go to trial and be held accountable for his heinous deeds. Why do you disagree? Why do you support him to such a degree that you think he should be left alone and allowed to get away with his crimes he wanted to commit?

I knew all that you Suckers of Trump's Penis would have is "WELL WHAT ABOUT BIDEN???? WHAT ABOUT SUBPOENAING HIM???? HE... HE"S A CRIMINAL TOO!!!!"".

Well ask Trump himself. Ask him why he never sought any investigation or hearings into Biden or his son the whole time that he held the entire country under his control and could have gotten Barr to do anything he wanted him to. Was Biden forcing the president of the United States at the time to not do something he wanted to do?

And what has Biden supposedly done that's illegal anyway? You can't present a god damned thing. You never have. You never will. All you got is wild, asinine speculation based on third or fourth hand information.

Smith has a shit-ton of blatant factual evidence on Trump six ways from Sunday.

YOU LYING ASSHOLE ASININE MAGA REPUBLICANS NEVER HAVE A GOD DAMNED SHRED OF EVIDENCE TO SUPPORT YOUR INSANE BULLSHIT WITH! EVER!!! NOT EVEN ONCE!!!! And you certainly ain't got anything this time either.

    So predictable.

    So pathetic.

So lame. You're abject support and knee-jerk defense of Trump absolutely wallows in the most pathetic lameness imaginable.

The MAGA cult defense of Donald Trump is so juvenile! “What about what Joey did?” is no defense. I laugh at their ridiculous claim of an unfair justice system. Since when are very rich people at a disadvantage dealing with law enforcement and our courts?

Ponderer, Donald Trump did try to go after Joe Biden. He tried ineptly to get Zelinsky to insinuate that Joe Biden had taken bribes or committed some sort of crime in the Ukraine. Of course it backfired, which resulted in his first impeachment.

  17. by Ponderer on June 10, 2023 9:46 am

Exactly, Curt. He was so desperate to find anything that he tried to blackmail Zelenski into making up bullshit to use against Biden... and this is important...

...Because he didn't have anything of any real substance whatsoever that could be brought before the Justice Department that was indictment worthy.

  18. by Ponderer on June 10, 2023 9:50 am

Trump never wanted to actually get Biden indicted for anything. He knew all he had was bullshit.

All he wanted to do was foment propaganda against Biden to make him look bad in voters' eyes. Just like they did against Hillary. They were never going to get her indicted for anything. They knew that. They had nothing against her.

But they were going to make as much hay as they could with the stink they farted about her. And that's all they really seek to do with this flaming bullshit about Biden that Hate laps up like Kool-aid. \

Never, in ANY of this, have I defended Trump. I think he's despicable. I support Ron DeSantis for President.

All of my comments...and, OD, too...have been to critique the Biden administration abuses.

"Never, in ANY of this, have I defended Trump." -HtS

That's because there isn't credible defense of Trump. The best you cultists can manage is a whataboutism "defense".

  21. by HatetheSwamp on June 10, 2023 11:15 am

There's no Whataboutism. That's your schtick, Curt.

As a political truth, this will, at the very least, be a break even for Trump. There's no way "that feckless dementia-ridden piece of crap's" true believer followers will be able to avoid it. You wanna turn America against Trump? Indict Joe.

As I've said now many times, the day the indictment of the Flatulent Fool is announced, pb'll say, "Sorry. My bad."
