(From Politico) Speaking on “Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo” on the Fox News Channel, Donald Trump said those at the events of Jan. 6 were loving people who wanted to save the nation.

“The crowd was unbelievable and I mentioned the word ‘love,’ the love in the air, I’ve never seen anything like it,” he said of his rally on the Ellipse. “That’s why they went to Washington.”

He added: “Too much spirit and faith and love, there was such love at that rally, you had over a million people,” inflating the size of his rally crowd.


“Who is the person that shot an innocent, wonderful, incredible woman, a military woman, right in the head?” Trump said. “There is no repercussion — that were on the other side, it would be the biggest story in this country. Who shot Ashli Babbitt? People want to know and why.”

Bartiromo then referred to Babbitt as “a wonderful woman fatally shot on January 6 as she tried to climb out of a broken window.” Their remarks echoed those of some of Trump’s backers, including Rep. Paul Gosar (R-Ariz.), who has claimed Babbitt was “executed.”

    I watched the rally that day. I doubt that there were a million in the crowd at the rally but the mood was spirited and definitely upbeat.

    As you know, I despise Trump and I think that he's despicable. Yet, there is a different quality to my response to Trump and yours, which has all the marks of Trump derangement.

    I don't understand the unbridled affection, heck passion, that many of his supporters have for Trump but I know, personally, and well, many of those people.

    Having watched the rally,...

    ...which I'm sure you didn't...

    ...I think Trump's description of it is accurate.

    It was a small percentage of the crowd that participated in the ugliness at the Capitol. Besides that, the rally was much more of a Love In than a riot.

    You, of course, have only your bias and hate as the basis of your opinion.

    As far as Ashley Babbitt is concerned, if Trump supporters were of the same ilk as the BLM and Antifa nuts who tore Portland and Minneapolis and other cities to pieces during the previous summer, you'd know what a riot really is.

    But, people of the antiSwamp are, really, people of love. The woke, Swampcult Blue MAGAs with which you seem to identify are bearers of hate.

    Well, that did happen and there was no riot in response.

    "President Donald Trump praised U.S. marshals who shot and killed a Portland antifascist demonstrator at a Thursday campaign rally in Greenville, North Carolina.

    In early September, a fugitive-hunting task force run by the U.S. Marshals Service tracked Michael Reinoehl, 48, to an apartment complex in Lacey, Washington. Reinoehl was wanted as a suspect in the killing of a demonstrator at a pro-Trump rally just days before.

    As OPB and ProPublica first reported this week, witnesses say the fugitive task force hunting Reinoehl did not use sirens or marked vehicles and did not announce they were police before shooting and killing him. A subsequent report from New York Times offered similar accounts of the shooting."

    In the old forum I recall Trump supporters contorting themselves, the English language and logic to deny that Trump incited (or provoked, abetted, fomented, instigated or encouraged) the Capitol rioters.

    But now, more than six months later, Trump says that he considers the events of January Sixth a sort of patriotic love-in of "great people" including the "innocent" Ashli Babbitt. So given his attitude of that day, why wouldn't he be supportive and encouraging of the insurrectionists?

    I watched Trump's rally speech that day. I heard nothing and saw nothing that suggests that Trump INCITED an INSURRECTION.

    He fully expected that people would walk down to the Capitol but to overthrow the government, and string up Mike Pence, with a mob made up mostly of nannas and pap paps? C'mon man, gimme a break! Even Trump!...

    The rally itself was very upbeat, considering the belief, by many who were present, that those smoke filled room handlers of that perverted and demented doddering old fart had swiped the election.
