The administration responded to news that Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) and Paul Gosar (R-Ariz.) would both serve on the Oversight committee after being stripped of their committee assignments during the last Congress for incendiary comments, including violent rhetoric toward other lawmakers.

Rep. Scott Perry (R-Pa.), a central figure in efforts to overturn the 2020 election results, also tweeted that he will serve on the Oversight committee, which will play a central role in investigating the Biden White House in the next two years.

“As we have said before, the Biden Administration stands ready to work in good faith to accommodate Congress’ legitimate oversight needs,” Ian Sams, a White House spokesperson on GOP investigations, said in a statement.

Sams accused Republicans of “handing the keys of oversight to the most extreme MAGA members of the Republican caucus who promote violent rhetoric and dangerous conspiracy theories.”

As usual, a fair and informative article from THE HILL.

Here's a suggestion from pb offered gratis to any entrepreneurial progressive SwampLover out there: Publish THE BIDEN ADMINISTRATION MAGA LEXICON.

Here Ian Sams refers to "the most extreme MAGA..."

"That feckless dementia-ridden piece of crap" has already described several MAGA variants: MAGA itself, Ultra-MAGA and mega-MAGA. Now Ian Sams introduces not only Extreme MAGA but also Most Extreme MAGA.

Now pb's certain that you lefty wackos understand every layer of nuance. But, real Americans?, our heads are spinning. Write the lexicon, take it to a bonkers lefty publisher, then wrangle a slot on Rachel, Joy and Don. Maybe Morning Joe.

You'll be rollin in it. And, maybe send a signed copy to your ol friend sell on Ebay.

BTW, Scott Perry's district is one over to the west from pb. Very Alabama Pennsylvania. Can't wait for those Biden Crime Family hearings. Bahahahahahahahahahaha.

MAGA is like what Potter Stewart said about pornography: "I know it when I see it". These two Trump-supporting nuts exemplify MAGA to me.

Rep. Paul A. Gosar (R-Ariz.) used official resources to create and post an animated video depicting the killing of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) and violence against President Biden.

Marjorie Taylor Greene espouses crazy Qanon views including thoughts on "Jewish Space Lasers".

Even the pathological liar George Santos was placed on 2 committees.

So you think they'll cause the US to default on its loans?

  3. by HatetheSwamp on January 18, 2023 2:41 pm

Yours'll be a short book, there, Curt.

pb's not happy with the appointment of either Gosar nor Greene. I'm pretty sure Lauren Boebert is also on Oversight. But, the Dems asked for this based on their treatment of Gosar and Greene in the last Congress, and, not to mention that shameful J6 Committee.

The Dems did what they did. I'm a bit surprised that the GOPs have retaliated this strongly but, as I recall McCarthy warned Nancy that if the Dems were as abusive as, in the end they were, that there would be he'll to pay. He is being true to his word.

On the debt limit, my guess is that the antiSwampers will make it ugly.

Re: George Santos. McCarthy says he'll be investigated and discipled if appropriate. I know that this due process is offensive to those of you who are lefties. But. Santos was elected. He's a member of the House.

If what, the mostly progressive, SwampMedia is reported about Santos is true, pb's pretty sure that the House antiSwampers will be among the first to call for strict discipline.

curt. you'll do anything in your little power to take Santos out. My guess is that I don't like him as much as you do. I think he ought to be taken out immediately. Welcome to the club you "like." remember the one that puts earmarks on law? Guess what. This is part of that. YOU'RE creating that club of irresponsible behavior. Soak that in. You're playing straight into his lap (or lower).

I guess you don't understand this isn't a "side" (left v. right) issue, it's swamp vs no swamp. You're a swampster. A racist, bigoted POS that loves the way things get done. It suits you considering the left has been in power. Now you get to whine and be a little 12 year old biatch about everything. Deal with it. You created this. Sit back and enjoy your riches. Your world may fall apart, and no one cares.

Your surmising is 180° off. As a Democrat, I am happy to have George Santos be the Republican albatross in Congress. Read my post which is number 20 at the link below. Santos is an embarrassment and only the Republicans with leadership from Kevin McCarthy can expel him. And you know that will not happen anytime soon. The revelations about George Santos will be a slow but constant drip. The stories about Santos will be stealing the headlines from the Republicans investigation of the Bidens. The stink from George Santos will permeate the Republican side of the aisle.

    I am good with that!

  7. by oldedude on January 19, 2023 5:11 am
I do agree with that. I wish he were gone, but he isn't.

  8. by HatetheSwamp on January 19, 2023 5:44 am

The stories about Santos will be stealing the headlines from the Republicans investigation of the Bidens.

Based on what the SwampMedia, on both sides, is reporting? I don't think so.

  9. by Donna on January 19, 2023 6:38 am

George Santos is a Drag Queen! - not that there's anything wrong with that, but it certainly is funny.

  10. by Ponderer on January 19, 2023 6:48 am

Oh my yes. It's certainly the Democrats' fault that the Republicans are being so heinously corrupt and nihilistic all of a sudden. They never wanted to have to be such fukking assholes. But the Democrats simply forced them to be. It's out of the GOP's hands. Nothing they could have done to stop the Democrats from making them be the worst thing that ever happened to this country.

Dear God you are stupid, Bill.

Dear God you are stupid, Bill. ~po

It always comes down to that with you progressives, eh, po. What's the reason that we think differently? Two options:

    A. You're superior to me.
    B. I'm inferior to you.

    Right. That's gotta be it.

pb can't say that you got nuthin because you ALWAYS got sanctimony. Bahahahahahahahahahaha!

  12. by Ponderer on January 19, 2023 7:03 am

Why do you always seem to think that there are only two options for things? It's that "black or white" conservative mentality of yours I'll bet.

I am not superior to you, Bill. It's just that in most cases, you are demonstrably wrong and I am demonstrably right. If you weren't so all-fired intent on believing that your baseless fantasies are real, you'd be in a much better position to adjust your opinions and beliefs to better comport with actual reality and not the one you have constructed for yourself to live in.

It really has nothing to do with me or Progressives, Bill. You'd still be wrong even if we didn't exist.

  13. by Donna on January 19, 2023 7:03 am

The best way to stop people from saying you're stupid is to stop saying stupid things.

  14. by HatetheSwamp on January 19, 2023 7:11 am

Why is calling me stupid not fruit of sanctimony? Because it is the honest truth. Eh?

What I've noticed over the course of many years is that, when you're forced by anyone to produce a thoughtful reply, you resort to calling the person who challenged you, stupid. Not only pb.

If pb's stupid, it shouldn't be hard to form a retort...but, you never do.

    po, you're not that stupid.

  15. by Ponderer on January 19, 2023 7:21 am

Bill, we have spent literal years in here trying to get you to open your eyes to facts and evidence that is right in front of your face to absolutely no avail.

You wear us the fukk out, Bill!

When it eventually becomes clear (as it always does)that you have no intention of ever allowing reality to sway the pig-ignorant fantasies in that solid bone head of yours, we throw in the towel and leave it at the discussion's final and inescapable conclusion:

You are simply a willfully stupid idiot.

It is not our fault that that is what you are. We are only reporting on what we see. You can't blame us for seeing what you present yourself to be.
