Minutes after Trump said he wouldn’t run and hide, he runs and hides.

I don't care what anybody says. Trump's trials won't help his poll numbers.

We don’t really know Joe Biden or Donald Trump. Maybe we should listen to those who do.

The Oval Office Oaf is starting to win me over. I...DO...choose freedom over democracy.

I know it ain't woke, but...

I saw this from Nate Silver on (Elon Musk's bahahahahahahahahahaha) Twitter in the middle of the first half:

"There's more Wales flopping in this game than at Sea World."

Aside from all the reports of Qatar labor abuse, FIFA bribery, etc. I have zilch interest in watching the World Cup tournament or soccer generally. I don't have the patience to watch the usual two hours or so of boring futility resulting in the typical one to zero final score.

Soccer is one of those sports that's much more fun to play than watch. IMO.

I think that, generally, it's people of substance who can appreciate the nuance of the game. Nate Silver and pb for instance. Bahahahahahahahahahaha!

    HtS and Nate,
Wake me when something exciting happens in a game, like more than two points being scored.

  5. by Donna on November 21, 2022 12:47 pm

I used to play organized soccer, basketball and baseball, and based on my personal experience there isn't much nuance in soccer.

Wales scored on a penalty kick in the 82nd minute to tie. I think Nate will tell you that it was an exciting match.

The US announcers were critical of the officiating.

True that, Donna. Regarding nuance, our two kids played sports in the YMCA programs. Of all the sports offered by the Y to kids and adults of various ages, the one sport that toddlers played was soccer. Toddlers are not known for their proclivity toward nuance.

I used to be fairly athletic. I think I've played every major sport except hockey. There's more nuance in the pitching aspect of baseball alone than in any other sport. American football comes in second.
