It's not what they did, it's how they did it.
GOP Rep. Scott Perry Says FBI Agents Seized His Cell Phone
Republican Pennsylvania Sen. Scott Perry had his cell phone seized by FBI agents Tuesday, the day after the FBI raided former President Donald Trumpís residence in Mar-a-Lago, he told the Daily Caller News Foundation.
Agents confronted Perry while he was traveling with his family and seized his phone without making an attempt to contact his attorney, who would have turned the phone over to the authorities, he first told Fox News. Perry suggested the actions from the FBI in both the confiscation of his cell phone and the raiding of Mar-a-Lago belonged in a corrupt, third world country.
There's a thing called "due process" in the US. 1. they have to have a warrant to seize property. 2. Are they just seizing property or is he detained? or under arrest? 3. Before the seizure, he has the legal right to contact his attorney. Did the FBI log the information? Did they do a 302 on it? Are they using it for nefarious purposes? I'm hoping this turns out to be an illegal seizure of personal property, which the agents could get fired over.
Lead, this is what I was talking about.
