Who with a working brain did suspect this was coming!!!!!?

Nearly 18 months of private chats between friends from the Trump White House show that Jan. 6 Committee star witness Cassidy Hutchinson dramatically changed her story about what she knew and how she felt about what she witnessed as a White House staffer.

...Relying on third-party conversations, Hutchinson claimed the president tried to violently hijack the presidential limousine to drive himself down to the rioters on Jan. 6. The claim was denounced as fabricated hours later. The claim was denounced as fabricated hours later. She said the president was aware that White House protesters were well-equipped with deadly weapons and still invited them onto government grounds anyway dismissing security concerns, never mind the fact that only a few face charges. And she said former White House Counsel Pat Cipollone personally warned her not to allow Trump to go to the Capitol or “We’re going to get charged with every crime imaginable.” Never mind Cipollone was not at the White House when Hutchinson claimed, according to multiple witnesses.

Left-wing media outlets were quick to brand the 25-year-old aide as the show-stopping witness whose testimony was on par with the most devastating revelations from Watergate.

Yet in a series of private communications from December 2020 through May 2021, shared exclusively with The Federalist, Hutchinson commiserated with other targets of the probe about how little information she had about any wrongdoing that day, and lamented how corrupt the politicized committee was. Far from being upset with Trump, Hutchinson repeatedly spoke in favor of him and his presidency.

I would rather shoot myself dead into the Potomac than see marine one flying around this city without 45 again,” Hutchinson wrote in one message nearly three months after the Capitol riot...

...Six days after she was issued a subpoena, Hutchinson called the Jan. 6 panel a “phony committee.” Around the same time, she told a former colleague her testimony would have nothing to offer.

The article goes on. It's very informative.

Bottom line:

1. This aligns with what pb said right after her hearsay laced rumor and gossip polluted testimony.
2. If you think she will be of any use to the prosecution, you're crazy. In fact, she may be called by Trump's gang if there's a trial.

pb's been saying all along. This is what happens when Big Brother holds a Show Trial in America.

This is not the USSR in the 1930s, though some of you, apparently, wish it was.

Has any of this been substantiated?

What I know, Donna, is that the Federalist is reliable.

I'd be surprised if this blows up. Lizzy will try, I'm sure.

    HtS,
Funny that you'd use unsourced, anonymous, third-hand reports to discredit Hutchinson. But even if what The Federalist reported is correct in what she said in the past, is it hard to believe that her conscience kicked in afterwards or she realized that she had been duped? Incidentally besides being under oath with the committee, she's testifying under oath to the DOJ. That's more credible than off-hand comments she may have made.

    Curt,

I'm merely using The Federalist article as my source. The Federalist is reputable. Molly Hemingway wrote the article. She's gold.

If you read the article, you know that it quoted texts from Hutchinson. That's not gossip, nor rumor, nor hearsay.

But, pb's point is that, as of now, as a witness in a trial, Cassidy Hutchinson is worth more to Trump than the prosecution...

pb cast aspersions on that ridiculous testimony from day one.

    pb nailed it.

  6. by HatetheSwamp on July 29, 2022 2:16 pm

Okay, gang, Molly was talking about the article with the gay Guy Curt never heard of.

Among the sources for the story are a total of 1,800 texts that Ms Hutchinson sent to her friends and acquaintances.

Apparently, the bone headed TDS-ridden members of the J6 Committee don't know that, when you delete a text, the person you sent it to still has your text.

    Morons!!!!!

Bahahahahahahahahahaha hahahahahahahahaha hoohoohoohoohoohoohoo heeheeheeheeheeheehee hahahahahahahahaha hoohoohoohoohoohoohoo heeheeheeheeheeheehee hahahahahahahahaha heeheeheeheeheeheehee hahahahahahahahaha hoohoohoohoohoohoohoo hahahahahahahahaha heeheeheeheeheeheehee, ahhhhhhhhhhh.

No prosecutor is going to get a dern thing out of that gossiping liar!

The Federalist or somebody collected 1800 Cassidy Hutchinson texts? I am skeptical. Any evidence? A link maybe?

Anyway, Cassidy Hutchinson is cooperating with the DOJ. That means testifying under oath. So it appears that the DOJ doesn't find The Federalist claims credible or concerning. They believe (but will verify) what Hutchinson says.

Do you know who found Hutchinson's testimony credible and consistent with what they know? Pat Cipollone and other witnesses who have come forward after her appearance before the committee.

Certainly, Curt, you know how it works in a trial. When one side calls a witness, the other side is permitted to cross examination.

You may remember, at the time, my response to Ms Hutchinson is that virtually nuthin she said could be said in a trial. It was nearly all rumor and gossip.

I doubt that there will be a trial but, if there is, I want a full account of what Trump's lawyer's cross.

  9. by Curt_Anderson on July 29, 2022 4:17 pm
    HtS,
You keep confusing the J6 investigative committee hearings with a trial. It's not. It's an investigation.

She is unlikely to be called as a witness if there is a trial of Trump. However, her testimony provided context to what Trump said and did. For example:
According to Hutchinson, Trump was upset that the crowd wasn’t large enough to fill the rally space and blamed the security measures in place that kept supporters who were wielding weapons from entering. She testified that Trump told his people to “take the f-ing mags away”. "Mags" being magnetometers also known as metal detectors.

Now we can better understand what we all heard Trump say on January 6th in his Ellipse speech. Thanks to her testimony it makes sense what Trump was saying:
"And I'd love to have if those tens of thousands of people would be allowed. The military, the secret service. And we want to thank you and the police law enforcement. Great. You're doing a great job. But I'd love it if they could be allowed to come up here with us. Is that possible? Can you just let him come up, please?"

  10. by HatetheSwamp on July 29, 2022 4:21 pm

However, her testimony provided context to what Trump said and did.

Her testimony purveyed rumor and gossip and was challenged before the sun set on it.
