Former President Donald Trump made a speech to the North Carolina Republican Party on Saturday night, criticizing President Biden's performance thus far and reiterating his unfounded belief that the 2020 election was stolen from him.
While many people's attention focused on what Trump said, more astute observers were focused elsewhere. After finishing his speech, Trump moved to his left away from the podium blocking his lower half and revealing a peculiar absence: Where's the zipper? Why are there creases around his thighs?
Social media users took to Twitter to mock Trump, suggesting that the 74-year-old had unintentionally put his pants on backward at the North Carolina GOP convention. The photographs were so popular that they trended on Twitter under #TrumpPants (see Twitter link below).
In an earlier photo at another event, Trump's zipper flap is visible.
One Trump voter suggested alternative to the backwards pants theory: "Just guessing, but I'd say that they're like sweat pants and have an elastic band across the waist."
