Many of the people I know, and I’m sure you all know who promoted the big lie, have now begun to back off in their claims that the election was stolen.

Should we let them save face by accepting their claims that, although they promoted the big lie ever since the election, they now acknowledge that Biden is president...but...and this is the face saving element, they claim to know and can prove that there was fraud during this past election, therefore, they can’t really say Biden was elected fair and square?

Or should we expect them to acknowledge that they were mislead and in effect, admit that they were wrong, much like the rioter Stephen Aires did at the hearings?

After stepping down from the witness stand Stephen walked over to each of the Capital police officers and personally apologized to each one.

they claim to know and can prove that there was fraud during this past election, therefore, they can’t really say Biden was elected fair and square?

I don't know what that has to do with saving face, but it's undeniably true.

The Wisconsin Supreme Court has ruled the cheating drop boxes unconstitutional. Dems in Texas and Arizona have been convicted of felonies for election fraud. That notorious whistle-blower in Pennsylvania has squealed.

As pb's been saying from 020, no one will ever know if the fraud swung the election but Dem fraud is a proven fact.

"I don't know what that has to do with saving face, but it's undeniably true."

I wouldn't expect you to understand any of this.

  3. by Curt_Anderson on July 14, 2022 11:20 am
Maybe it's unconstitutional in the Republican judges' interpretation of the Wisconsin Constitution.

  4. by oldedude on July 14, 2022 11:27 am
Maybe it just plain unconstitutional. Ever think of that?

  5. by Curt_Anderson on July 14, 2022 11:46 am
    OD,
No, it is not unconstitutional. The United States Constitution leaves voting methods up to the states. Oregon for example only has vote by mail and drop boxes.

  6. by oldedude on July 14, 2022 11:47 am
So you're saying you know Wisconsin Constitutional voting law better than the judges there. Gotcha.

  7. by oldedude on July 14, 2022 11:51 am
And of all the people on this site that understands that? Really? I didn't think I had to actually go in to a bunch of "the WI state constitution has different voting laws, jut like all the other 50 states" bullsht. Tweedle-de and the other one aren't posting on political stuff.

"Maybe it's unconstitutional in the Republican judges' interpretation of the Wisconsin Constitution."

Good one, Curt !! No wonder they believe Trump's big lie and don't know who won the election. 😀

Drop boxes have been used for years in WI. The panel ruled that they can’t be used (in WI) any anymore. In a dissenting opinion, Justice Ann Walsh Bradley wrote that drop boxes are a simple and legal way to make voting easier, especially during a pandemic.

Soo, “simple thinking” informs us that we can never know who won this past election (or any election in WI) because drop boxes have now been made illegal.

Sorry, that doesn’t cut it and that excuse only lessens my desire to allow the pushers of Trump’s big lie to save face.

As a Wisconsin native, I cast my first votes in the Badger State. At the time it was possible to register to vote the right before to voting. As I recall you could register to vote on election day. Maybe it's still that way. The point is that voting rules and methods are not universal across America. Just ask the United States Constitution.

If a person won't accept election results as legitimate even after all the judicial remedies have been exhausted, why accept the results of any contest?

Oh God. You guys are never going to get out of Hts what you want. Give it up already, sheesh.

  11. by HatetheSwamp on July 14, 2022 12:37 pm

The panel ruled that they can’t be used (in WI) any anymore.

That's not exactly true. They can only be used in certain places.

It does amaze me that you Blue Ultra-MAGAs are so blindly attached to the Dem election myth that reality offends you.

  12. by Curt_Anderson on July 14, 2022 12:38 pm
    Donna,
I enjoy seeing HtS and his ilk put themselves through contortions in denying the legitimacy of the last election.

  13. by Donna on July 14, 2022 12:42 pm
I think maybe you're overestimating the effect you believe you're having on Hts and his ilk, which btw would be a great name for a rock band. Hts seems to be enjoying everything you guys are firing at him. But carry on if you must.

Oh God. You guys are never going to get out of Hts what you want. Give it up already, sheesh.

    Donna,

I think we should all be willing to acknowledge reality.

Dems in Texas and Arizona have been convicted for felonies because they engaged in ballot harvesting. The Wisconsin Supreme Court has ruled drop boxes unconstitutional. A whistle-blower has uploaded videos of Pennsylvania election officials acknowledging and making light of chain of custody issues with thousands of ballots here.

Reality. Truth. That's what pb wants.

  15. by Donna on July 14, 2022 12:49 pm
LOL! You believe you really have something there, don't you?

  16. by HatetheSwamp on July 14, 2022 1:01 pm

    Donna,

You announced, in the wake of the election, that there was no fraud.

    There was. Proved. Period.

“I think maybe you're overestimating the effect you believe you're having on Hts and his ilk,” ----Donna

I know that whatever I say here is not going to have any effect on Hate or OD or what they believe, and I don’t expect it to. When I debate other people in the real world, Hate and OD give me some good insights into the minds of the MAGAS and people like them and how they go about rationalizing the absurdities they believe. I then have a better understanding of what makes them tick and I’m more familiar with their methods of deception such as half truths, avoiding answering question, and their use of smoke and mirrors etc.

This place is almost as good as going to a class on psychology with real live subjects !!! 😁

"You announced, in the wake of the election, that there was no fraud." --HtS

You like to throw the accusation of "that's a lie!" around, usually without foundation as you have recently.

Now, your claiming that Donna (or me, etc.) said "there was no fraud" IS a lie---a lie by omission. Donna nor I have never claimed there was not any election fraud. There are a few isolated example of election cheating every election. The fact is that was not sufficient election fraud to change the outcome of the last presidential election. That's been proven over and over again.

  19. by Donna on July 14, 2022 2:40 pm
Hts continues to lie about what we said because he knows that'll make us respond, Curt. I guess he's desperate for attention - I don't know. The world is full of people I'll never understand. I just have no desire to debate people like him anymore. I reached my fill. I wish we had a private message function on this forum because even saying what I'm saying now is a response.

Just a thought that sometimes crosses my mind...Does Hate really believe the stuff he posts here? I know (or at least I think) some people do actually believe what Hate posts...but does he?

If he doesn't believe it, what kind of person is he that he derives pleasure from posting it ?

Got it. And my point was, that I've been out of Colorado for less than a year, and I would never make a statement like that without checking. I "assume," especially in these times, there are changes in state laws, and therefore the counties will implement different procedures to fulfill the law of the state. My reference was about the WI Constitution since that was your reference.

I enjoy seeing HtS and his ilk put themselves through contortions in denying the legitimacy of the last election.

pb's ilk being 52% of likely voters according the last poll I saw.

Hey, pb's enjoying this. It's your side that's been contorting yourselves with this silly J6 Committee.

You're pretending away the Dems felony convictions for vote fraud.

    Me?

A guy who thinks he's a Former Truck Driver is the guy you foisted. I'm laughing.
