This is just the beginning of the people that have been kicked out of school board meetings for profanity after reading a book their children are required to read. Many more where this came from and from across the nation.

Mom Gets Warning At School Board Meeting For Reading DISGUSTING Book Found In Children's School

Georgia school board shuts down mom reading explicit lines from school library's book

Speaker removed from Orange County School Board meeting for reading from a book found at school library
"Video recorded by Alicia Farrant — a member of the Orange County chapter of the parent group Moms for Liberty — depicts Orange County School Board Chair Teresa Jacobs having police officers remove Jacob Engels, a speaker during the public comment portion of the meeting, after Engels began reading from a book titled “Gender Queer: A Memoir.”

The book, which was found in an Orange County Public Schools high school library, is a graphic novel that contains detailed and graphic depictions of sex acts.

“I’m going to read a passage of a book that’s floating around in your schools that has been banned from many other schools,” Engels said. “As a member of the LGBT community, the fact that this is floating around for children as young as ninth grade is concerning.”

An emotional Nevada mom has gone viral after school board officials cut her mic temporarily as she read sexually explicit passages from a class assignment given to her high school daughter to read and act.

    OD,
We talked about this. I quoted the Federalist Society: "America is a republic and not a pure democracy." I approve of parents speaking their mind to the school boards and better yet knowledgeably voting for their school boards.

I would be surprised if the most shocking thing a high schooler sees of a sexual matter is in the school library. I am sure they more graphic depictions online.

"Mom Gets Warning At School Board Meeting For Reading DISGUSTING Book Found In Children's School"

I guess that's supposed to make you think that 6-year old kids are reading it.

Further down in od's post, it says that the book was found in an Orange County Public Schools high school library.

I think high school students can handle it. It may even be beneficial.

[The author of the book, Maia] Kobabe acknowledged that several of the book’s graphic images may not be appropriate for elementary school children. [Again, though, it was in a high school library - Donna] However, the author said the book’s frank accounts are “integral” to showing readers an experience growing up outside of cisgender and heterosexual norms, adding that “we need to reduce the shame” about sex among teenagers.

“It’s very hard to hear people say ‘This book is not appropriate to young people’ when it’s like, I was a young person for whom this book would have been not only appropriate, but so, so necessary,” Kobabe said. “There are a lot of people who are questioning their gender, questioning their sexuality and having a real hard time finding honest accounts of somebody else on the same journey. There are people for whom this is vital and for whom this could maybe even be lifesaving.”

Curt- You also said that it should be up to the school boards what to teach. These are examples.

Donna- These were required reading, and in one case they were supposed to act out the scene. These are 13 year olds that are acting and representing something considered "indecent" according to the school boards.

These are the same schools with "nongendered" rest rooms where the students have been sexually assaulted, and the school covered it up. Remember, teachers are a group considered "Mandatory Reporters."

And I know that you will be continuing to support this. It doesn't matter to me. As long as the rapes keep happening (multiple times with the same perp that was identified the first time).

The other issue is refusing to allow parents in the school for functions. So if a parent wants to assist the teachers, they are not allowed to be on school grounds.

"This is the type of program you defended when the parents were getting kicked out of school board meetings for using sexually charged language in homework for 14 year olds."
I understand that kids explore. Okay. But to be groomed by "educators" that desire an outcome, that's a different thing. And also, for teachers to chose NOT to inform parents they "decided" to change the child's pronouns and sexualty? This reeks of the CCP, DPRK, or Russian Scholaro. And I am also a believer that parents need to work with their children (whatever age) need the support.

"California mom accuses teachers of secretly manipulating daughter to be transgender"
Jessica Konen says teachers at LGBTQ club concealed new identity from family

A California mother has taken legal action against a school district with the explosive claim that staffers manipulated her middle-school daughter into aligning as transgender, saying they encouraged her to change her name, pronouns and gender identity behind her mother’s back.

Jessica Konen filed a claim last week against the Spreckels Union School District, two teachers and a principal seeking damages for intentional infliction of emotional distress and civil-rights violations over policies she says allowed the staff to prod her daughter into identifying as transgender starting in sixth grade.

“These are the disgusting behaviors and tactics of predators, who have abused their role as trusted authority figures to our children,” Ms. Konen said in a Thursday statement issued by the Center for American Liberty, which represents her.

I don't understand how you've concluded that I support what you say I support.

I think I can safely assume that no one on this forum supports sexual assault.

olde dud: I couldn't find anything supporting your contention that the book "Gender Queer" was "required reading" or that students were instructed to act out scenes from it. Where did you read or hear that?

I honestly thought I had cited this one. It's really the most important.

CCSD responds after mom sharing daughter’s assignment goes viral

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) - The Clark County School District has been thrust into the national spotlight after a mom who read part of her daughter’s controversial class assignment at a school board meeting last week went viral.

“I am going to give you an assignment given to my 15-year-old daughter at a local high school. This will be horrifying for me to read to you but that will give your perspective on how she must have felt when her teacher required her to memorize this and to act it out in front of her entire class,” said parent Kandra Evans at the meeting during public comment.

As Evans began to read a passage from her daughter’s assignment her mic was cut off by CCSD Trustee Evelyn Garcia Morales.

“This is a public meeting. I ask for decorum,” said Garcia Morales.
“If you don’t want me to read it to you, what was it like for my 15-year-old daughter to have to memorize pornographic material?,” Evans said.

Superintendent Dr. Jesus Jara then stepped in.

“Staff is on this,” Dr. Jara said.

“While we can engage in a dialogue we want to make sure your concerns are addressed,” Garcia Morales said."

Evans relented to just make a statement and be heard without quoting the book and respecting the board's decorum.

Oh, it was all over the news. Well maybe not on your "news."

  11. by Donna on July 20, 2022 2:48 pm
I hadn't heard the story you just posted.

My comments were specifically about the book "Gender Queer". I haven't seen anything that suggests "Gender Queer" was "mandatory reading". From what I've read, it was found in some middle and high school libraries.

The parent in the story you posted on, Kandra Evans, mentioned only an "assignment". She didn't mention "Gender Queer" or any other book. I think maybe you're mixing two different news stories.
