This is a direct assault on our Republic. Not only did they attempt to illegally gain entry in to the AZ State Senate offices and senate per se (à la the Kavanaugh Hearings), they also did not allow the senate members and workers in the facility to leave the premises. This is illegal detention and kidnapping.

"Violent anti-abortion protestors attempts of an insurrection at the Arizona State Senate were thwarted Friday night, thanks to the swift action from local and state law enforcement,' the Arizona State Senate said in a press release.

“Protesters threatened to break the AZ Senate entryway glass,” Arizona State Senator Wendy Rogers tweeted.

Police used tear gas to disperse the protestors and regain control of the building, according to Fox News.

“We are currently there being held hostage inside the Senate building due to members of the public trying to breach our security,” State Senator Kelly Townsend wrote on Twitter."

"One Senator compared the violence to the breach of the United States Capitol that occurred on January 6, 2021.

“I expect a J24 committee to be created immediately,” she said on Twitter.

“Extremist demonstrators made their way to the entrance of the Senate building and began forcibly trying to make entry by breaking down windows and pushing down doors,” according to the Arizona State Senate press release."

"This is illegal detention and kidnapping." ---OD

That's an interesting thought. The January 6th insurrectionists should probably be charged with illegal detention and kidnapping.

pb thinks that how this works out politically will be determined by which side moderates "like" more.

Polls suggest that 15%, at most, care deeply about abortion...

...and, that's both sides added together. Most Americans are pragmatic about how abortion should be regulated.

This vile, hateful rage coming out of pro-abortion people?, it's not helping their cause.

In the end, the truth remains that the Dobbs decision didn't make abortion illegal. It's gives control over the regulation of abortion to us...and our representatives.

So, go for it, you angry, hateful, pro-abortion thugs. We'll win at the ballot box.

I also find it interesting 1. AZ actually had a plan and everyone went through it. There was an alternate room for meeting, which they all went to (unlike Jan 6, where no one knew WTF to do because they had no "leadership").
    2. The Senate wasn't really worried. 20% of them were carrying and could actually defend themselves and not be victims and sheep. 3. The best of them all, the rioters got gasses with prison style tear gas!

In FL, there were no such protests. In Tallahassee, the capital, there were a bunch of people standing and sitting on the steps of the capital. Orlando there was a march.

I hope that none of the insurrectionists injured police officers, threatened to kill anyone, spread shit on the Arizona Senate chamber walls, or drove anyone to suicide.

Me, too, Donna, but they did promise a SUMMER OF RAGE, eh?

    Donna,
My, how absolutely passive-aggressive of you! But at least you're not calling it a "peaceful demonstration" this time. And there aren't even any buildings burning.

I think they got tear gassed before they could die at the hands of the senators. Much different than the sheep in the US house dims.

And what's funny, is the AZ AG gets to chose the charges because the feds have nothing to do with it!

The only thing I call "peaceful demonstrations" are peaceful demonstrations. I never called the race riots "peaceful demonstrations" - I called the peaceful demonstrations the peaceful demonstrators were engaging in at those events "peaceful demonstrations", just as I've always recognized that most of the attendees of the Jan 6 rally were peaceful demonstrators.

But you totally called the riots in the summer of love, peaceful. "However, arson, vandalism, and looting that occurred between May 26 and June 8 caused approximately $1–2 billion in damages nationally, the highest recorded damage from civil disorder in U.S. history, and surpassing the record set during the 1992 Los Angeles riots."wiki
    I don't call that peaceful.
