Damn straight!

After Curt reported high ratings, I got to thinking. 20 million? That's about 3 million more than the Academy Awards and people were jawing about those pathetic numbers.

The congressional hearings that aired in primetime television on the incident at the Capitol that happened on January 6, 2021 were an abysmal failure.

The ratings are in and, despite being on CNN, MSNBC and just about every major network the hearings only garnered around 20 million viewers, Just The News reported.

...By contrast...,in 2018, then-President Donald Trump’s first State of the Union attracted over 45 million, per the New York Post.
More than TWICE as many viewers.

Bahahahahahahahahahaha!

True to form, Trump's claim at the time about his television ratings for his address to Congress were false. Bill Clinton had 66 million viewers. Obama and George W. had better television ratings than Trump.

Part of the reason is that increasingly more people are streaming such events nowadays. Or watching it later. So they aren't counted by Nielsen.

Even if people did not watch the hearings, I bet many could tell you the main points of what was revealed and said. I doubt that as many people could have told you Trump's main points from his speech.

Btw, the Oscars are a good example of what I was talking about above. I didn't watch it either. But I know that Will Smith clocked Chris Rock. So do about 300 million other people know that too.

    Right, Curt.

If the Committee had planned to have someone slap Liz Cheney in the first few minutes, the Show Trial would have garnered more attention.

    I would have volunteered. Gladly.
