Trump's Georgia Rally Sees 'Smallest Crowd' in State Since 2016: Reporters

Of course Trump denies it, insisting it was a "massive crowd". He also claimed the crowd for his inauguration was the largest ever. We will know if the reporters were right about the crowd size based on Trump's next rally--where and when it's held, the venue, et cetera. --CA

Former President Donald Trump's Georgia rally on Saturday failed to draw the number of supporters he has been accustomed to in the southern state, according to multiple journalists covering the event.

Trump held the event in support of several of Georgia's Republican primary candidates in Commerce, Georgia, which is about an hour drive northeast of Atlanta. While the former president has regularly seen tens of thousands attend his events in the state, as well as other states across the country, journalists assessed that the crowd size was underwhelming this weekend.

"I've covered more than two dozen Trump rallies around the nation. This is the smallest crowd I've seen at a rally of his in Georgia since he won the 2016 election—significantly smaller than the crowd in Perry in September," Greg Bluestein, a political reporter at The Atlanta Journal-Constitution tweeted.

    Interesting.

    I watched it.

I actually was thinking about entering a post saying that I watched it, the crowd was huge and unusually enthusiastic.

You, of course, never have firsthand knowledge of anything.

Nor could you. You weren't there. You could only offer opinions based on what the wingnut YouTube channel chose to show you. As I said maybe the reporters who said it was a small crowd and that people left while Trump was speaking had it wrong. But I certainly wouldn't believe Trump's estimate of crowd size.

If the crowd was actually small, Trump will include something like a free Kid Rock concert or a tractor pulling contest to juice up the crowd size and/or hold the next rally in some super red district.

Or maybe it will go the way of the Bill O'Reilly & Donald Trump History Tour which were quietly cancelled after the first one or two.

    Curt,

I watch RSBN's coverage of the rally itself...then, less so...of the speech.

As I was watching, I really did think it was a huuuuuuuuuge, very enthusiastic crowd.

    Still,...

When I say that I despise Trump. I think he's despicable, I'm being perfectly serious. Personally, I want what NEWSWEEK reported to be accurate...

...but I've not only been watching the rallies. With each rally, I've also been following the SwampMedia coverage. It's been ridiculously unbalanced.

I have no reason to trust any SwampMedia report of a Trump rally that puts Trump and his supporters in a negative light...

    ...with abundant reason.

    Curt,

I've never really understood why some people are so fascinated with and impressed by rallies.

I've always seen them as just another kind of "Brother Love's Travelin' Salvation Show". I guess some people love going to rallies and shows in order to feel and experience the "like minded crowd excitement". But other than that?

With decent showmanship rallies attracting large crowds can be held for virtually any reason, even the Nazi's in this country could attract large crowds as seen in this YouTube video.

In case you don't understand, I agree with your lack of excitement about the Trump rallies. But, they blow to bits your dream that the Trump movement is fading.

They are a reality that significantly defines politics in the US in this century.

As I wrote, I watch the rallies with much greater interest than the speech. As inclined as you are to belittle the rallies and, especially, the people who attend them, they were a force in 016 and 020 and are in 022.

I suspect that populism, movements of middle class and lower class people, make you, as erudite as you are, wretch. Go for it...

...and, watch as Blue MAGA elitists pay the price.
