Amazing! Joe can't lead his own party so he blames GOPs.

Biden has been accurately dubbed "that feckless dementia-ridden piece of crap." I think Americans know that his problem is with his own party.

(I included a recording of the feckless thing to recall how much it matters.)

Actually Biden is taking the right approach. He SHOULD be blaming the obstructionists across the aisle. Harry Truman used that tactic to great effect when he railed against the Republican-controlled "do-nothing Congress".

I can't fault senators or representatives who represent the views of their constituents. Manchin represents a ruby red state. I have more of problem with members of Congress like Kristen Sinema and Republicans from blue districts and states who ignore what their people want.

    Ah, Triangulation.

I think you're right. He has to try. I'll be very surprised if it works.

Any GOP who voted for the bipartisan infrastructure bill has a retort. Sinema, I'm sure she frustrates all Blue MAGAs, but I don't recall her running as the second coming of AOC.

Biden’s problem is that he's so weak that he can't control his own party. My guess is that people who vote get that.

Candidate Sinema did come across as a very progressive Democrat. She was recently a member of the Green Party and worked for Ralph Nader's candidacy. So it's understandable if Arizona voters are surprised she's siding with Joe Manchin.

Y'know, I think we all, to a degree, see what we want to see. My sense of her as a candidate in 020 is that she was happy to run on her Green fumes but had, shall I say, sort of quietly evolved into a moderate Dem.

"Quietly evolved" candidates like that are tantamount to false advertising.

Would you be as chagrined if say Ted Cruz began to lean toward BBB?

  7. by Curt_Anderson on January 10, 2022 3:34 pm
I wouldn't be chagrinned, I'd be surprised. I have no expectations that Cruz would suddenly side with progressives. Even though he has apparently no principles or loyalty. He won't even defend his own wife or father from spurious attacks. He's not loyal to the Constitution. He won't even support statements he's made multiple times but instead grovels on Tucker Carlson's show.

  8. by HatetheSwamp on January 10, 2022 3:41 pm

Nevertheless, conservatives and antiSwampers are very surprised that the formerly Naderian Kirsten Sinema has been so consistently opposed to BBB.
