Problem:
We are participating in a catapult accuracy competition. We have a catapult that can launch small balls to a target. What input variables do we alter to hit the target.
Objective:
To select the process settings for operating the catapult so that it will consistently project the selected input material a target distance, T, that is to be selected later.
Design Experiment:
We have 2 design variables: relative location of the fulcrum and the angle at which the base is set. We have 1 input variable: the small ball.
| |
Actual Results:
Compete in the competition and verify results.
Analyze data:
From the data collected, we will determine the heuristic angle and location of the fulcrum to run for the competition.
Collect data:
We run the trials and collect data and determine the accuracy and precision of the launches.
