By a 54-37 percent margin, Americans think the country is less united under Biden rather than more so

Under effin stand? Before Joe, we had OrangeMan!!!!!

By a margin of 54-37, we think that Donald J Trump is a better uniter than that "feckless dementia-ridden piece of crap" in the White House.

Donald Trump. OrangeMan!!!!!

Thanks for the unity, you ridiculous Trumpaphobes!!!!!

    Also:

"About half of voters also say Biden has the mental soundness to serve effectively as president (49 percent, unchanged from 2020) and is honest and trustworthy (50 percent, down 2 points)."

Less than half 49% think Clouseau has the mental soundness to be President.

Thanks, po and Donna and Curt. You did this.

That's great news! That means we are less divided than we were two and half years ago. Thank you, President Biden.

A majority of Americans believe that the country is somewhat or very divided among racial, ethnic and political lines.

According to a poll conducted in December by PRRI and The Atlantic, 83 percent of Americans believe the country is divided by race and ethnicity, with Hispanics most likely to feel this way at 92 percent. Eighty-two percent of African-Americans believe the country is somewhat or very divided, and 83 percent of white Americans agree.

When it comes to political division, 74 percent say the country is very divided. There is little difference among the political parties, with 96 percent of Republicans and 91 percent of Democrats agreeing.

No. By 54-37 Americans think we're less united than we were with Trump.

Here's a one person poll, Curt.

Do you think pb and you are more united than we were 8 months ago?

But it's your assumption that that attitude is because Biden IS the president. It's more likely it's because Trump obstinately refuses to acknowledge he lost the 2020 election and continues to lie about it.

More than a year ago, "the vast majority of Americans (83 percent) said that Trump cares about the wealthy — many more than said he cares about the middle class (45 percent), the poor (38 percent), and “people like me” (40 percent). Indeed, 74 percent of independents and even 23 percent of Republicans said that Trump did not care about “people like me.”

No. It's a matter of the calendar.

As much as I shared many of OrangeMan's policy aims, I have said many times that Trump is a horrible leader.

It seems obvious to me that Trump didn't care that the country was unified. Of course, we were at each other's throats. At best Trump was indifferent to our unity. At worst, he fed off of our angst about each other but, then, he, as the song says, never promised us a rose garden.

    But, Joe did.

Joe promised to be the President of the people who vote for him and for the people who vote against him.

And, the end result of Joe's leadership eight months in is that, by a lot, Americans think that we're less united, not more united.

More evidence of the long-lasting and pernicious effect of Donald Trump. This poll was taken three years ago.

"More than 6-in-10 Americans (62%) feel that the country has become more divided since Trump took office. Just 11% say the country has become more united and 25% say there has not really been a change in our sense of unity. A plurality of Republicans (44%) join majorities of independents (59%) and Democrats (81%) in saying that the nation has become more divided since Trump took office."

I'm with you, Curt. Trump didn't even pretend that he was uniting the country. He openly and blatantly exaggerated the differences among us.

That's why I'm stunned that current polling suggests that people think we're less united with Joe than we were before him.

In things political, a week can seem like multiple generations. My guess is that people have long since forgotten how tense Trump made things.

On the other hand, I think that GOPs and independents are frustrated that, in the face of what they see as Joe's incompetence, the majority of Dems still support him.

With Trump, Trump brought the divison. With Joe, it seems to me, it's your blind support of his handling of Afghanistan and the border and the economy that sparks the division.

    Meanwhile, back in 2016...

Record-High 77% of Americans Perceive Nation as Divided

PRINCETON, N.J. -- Seventy-seven percent of Americans, a new high, believe the nation is divided on the most important values, while 21% believe it is united and in agreement. Over the past 20+ years, the public has tended to perceive the nation as being more divided than united, apart from two surveys conducted shortly after the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

How record-breaking divided the country was under Trump never concerned you at all, Hate. But now that there's a much smaller number who think the country is divided under Biden, you've got to pull your best propaganda bullshit out of your ass and try to demonize Biden's numbers like it's an Earth-shattering revelation.

You are so transparent. Seriously, it does not take even the tiniest bit of omniscience to see right through you, Hate.
