Former Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, who left the Democratic Party in 2022, declined an offer to be Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s running mate in his independent presidential bid, she tells ABC News.

"I met with Kennedy several times, and we have become good friends," she said in a statement. "He asked if I would be his running mate. After careful consideration, I respectfully declined."

She may be holding out in the hope that Donald Trump will ask her to the prom.

Tulsi certainly has had opportunities. But, as you know from your extensive Fox viewing, she's been soliciting Trump's Veep job like a streetwalker who desperately needs a fix.

If Trump picks her, pb thinks he's a lock for a landslide... but he won't.

  2. by Curt_Anderson on April 6, 2024 11:04 am
If that were true, why wouldn't Trump choose her? Do you imagine that Trump has some deeply held principles that she is not in accordance with? Maybe a lofty philosophical difference?

I think Trump's a narcissist who is intimidated by strong and intelligent people.

  4. by Curt_Anderson on April 6, 2024 11:22 am
Maybe. But if Tulsi is a surefire ticket to winning the election she is worth a billion dollars to Trump. The financial considerations would outweigh his narcissism and insecurities.

Peebs nailed it. Trump wants someone he can push around. If he couldn't even push Mike Pence around - you think he's going to have any luck with Tulsi? 😂

"Peebs nailed it. Trump wants someone he can push around."

That's true but not just for the VP slot but his cabinet and staff if Trump were to be re-elected. During Trump's first year in office he had some people in his administration that had some backbone, integrity and competence. By year four he was surrounded with unconfirmed-by-the-Senate sycophants.

If Trump is re-elected he won't be looking for people with experience and competence, but slavish loyalty to him.

That's not Tulsi. Although I can see her using him as a stepping stone to the White House if she thinks it's a viable path. Personally I think it would do her more harm than good - but I also do not see any other candidates who might pick her for that position because she's going to draw the limelight away from all the boring dinosaurs corporate America picks for their presidential sock puppets.

They also had a good honeymoon at the UN, and then something happened. I'm not sure if anyone wants to relive that. Obviously, no one has forgotten it. I would really like to see her there. Especially with Kackling Kamala as the other side's VP.

For her. Her kids have been in DC, and mom's played politician so they know the rules (we hope). Her husband can get deployed (or not) and there's enough infrastructure at home they don't have to worry about that too much. Although I don't think he'll be on the deploy list during that time. Maybe to the Pentagon or something.
