Trump said in a deposition in April 2023 that he had roughly $400 million in liquid assets. There's no way of telling if what he said was true.

As noted here previously, Trump is racking up huge legal bills in addition to his court imposed fines. MAGA donors will help him out by raiding their piggy banks. The RNC will chip in too to cover his bills. But all that money will come at the expense of Trump's own campaign and that of down ballot Republicans candidates in search of political contributions. Trump is currently about $15 million behind Joe Biden in campaign fundraising.

Trump Rebuffed After Asking a Judge to Delay His $454 Million Penalty
(NY TIMES)Donald J. Trump on Wednesday lost his initial bid for a New York appeals court to pause the more than $450 million judgment he faces in a civil fraud case, a decision that could expose him to financial peril.

Mr. Trump’s lawyers had asked the appeals court to allow him to post only a $100 million bond — a promise from an outside company that the judgment eventually will be paid — because securing one for the full amount was “impossible,” they said.

A single appellate court judge assigned to consider Mr. Trump’s request, Anil Singh, turned him down on Wednesday.

I didn't mention that Trump doesn't have to produce the cash. He could come up with collateral, real estate for example, to cover the judgment against him. Unless of course he doesn't own any buildings free and clear because he's heavily mortgaged.

Forbes figures that Trump is worth $2.6 billion, which is not enough to make their 400 list. Of course that's just a guestimate. If they are correct, Trump should be able to come up with the money he owes the state of New York. But he seems to be having trouble meeting the $450 million amount.

Trump merely declaring bankruptcy may be an issue.

I know that, viscerally, this must really feel good to you who are suffering from deranged TrumpHate insanity. So, enjoy. Some Germans actually enthusiastically supported the Death Camps... but most thought they were evil.

I've been saying two things that I think are eminently sensical:

    1. This lawfare strategy hands $100,000,000s of free press time to Trump,
    2. It creates the impression that that thoroughly despicable man is an innocent victim and a sympathetic figure.

Talk about a political strategy that stokes the base and offends t'other 70% of the electorate? Bada bing, bada bam, bada bomb!

Get out of your GOP bubble, peebs. Nobody outside the Trumpers think that racist POS is a "sympathetic figure".

    Okay, Indy.

According to RCP, at this point in 020, Trump was -5.4 against "that feckless dementia-ridden piece of crap." Today, he's +2.0. That came from somewhere.

    A 7.4 point swing.

That applies to nothing we're talking about. The GOP - all of them, every single one of them including you and OD - will be voting for whoever is on the GOP ballot on election day. That's the way it's always been and the way it always will be because you're a pack of dogs who run together no matter what. It's got nothing to do with Trump being a "sympathetic figure" - it has to do with him having the "R" next to his name.
