When James Comer and Jim Jordan aren't jumping the gun and making hyperbolic accusations that they cannot back up, they are incriminating their own.

In today's New York Post an article entitled "Comer downplays significance of now-indicted informant in Biden impeachment probe" James Comer pivots to a supposed suspicious connection between the Chinese energy firm CEFC and the Biden family.

For months Comer has been portraying CEFC in the most unflattering light, calling it a "Chinese Communist Party (CCP) linked". I guess by definition EVERY Chinese company is linked to the CCP.

That might be an effective line of attack, but did Comer realize that the Trump family also has done business with the CEFC? See Trump Tower CEFC Deal 2743 document at link below

There might be a reason that CEFC "needed" to buy a condo in Trump Tower, but it's hard to imagine they didn't have other options---although they may have been less politically advantageous. For that matter didn't the Trump family have the option not to rent a Chinese company connected the the Communist regime?

“What we learned was very similar to what Tony Bobulinski said — that [Galanis] was familiar with the CEFC deal,” Comer said.

Tony Bobulinski is a former partner of the first son who worked with his business dealings regarding Chinese energy giant CEFC. Bobulinski testified earlier this month before the House Oversight and Judiciary committees and is widely regarded as a key witness in the GOP efforts against the president.

“I think the whole premise of what CEFC was paying the Bidens to do was to be able to gain access to all of our markets, not just our energy markets but our farmland, our manufacturing,” Comer speculated. ---NY Post

    Curt,

You are a Good German. And. The Dems are your Nazis...

    ...and the GOPs your Jews.

You do put on a good show, though... for those of us who are rational about these things.

It's stupid that you call me a "good German" or your saying Democrats are like the Nazis. But I am used to seeing stupid posts on these pages. I don't expect much from voters of certain political party of which one presidential candidate claims America was never a racist country, and the other thinks his multiple legal issues will win over minorities (because he assumes they mostly have criminal records).

It's stupid and offensive in the extreme to suggest that Republicans are anything like the Jewish victims of Hitler and Nazis. The Jews then were not the cause of their own misfortune. The House Republicans are embarrassing themselves with their own ineptness.

I am not saying that Dems are like Nazis.

This is about you and your irrationality and bias... and your curious notion of good and evil.

You defend and promote all things Dem in the same way a German favoring the Nazis would have embraced Hitler's crowd in the 1930s and you despise and condemn the GOPs in the same way a Nazi lover would have the Jews.

    It's silly.

My first thought is that you know absolutely nothing about the process of law. No surprise there, but I see a far worse issue with the dims and their non-use of any sort process or understanding of the rights of 1. the accused. 2. prosecution. 3. the system. You hoisted the dims as the epitome of righteousness as they let out supposedly classified knowledge of the case. And then fell flat on their faces. How many times did shiftless come out with "absolute proof of felonies" and then nothing happened. These would be violations of classified material (which the FBI/ DOJ held the infamous LIE of the Steele Dossier). This led shiftless to lose senior committee positions because he could not be trusted with classified information.

The second item is your complete lack of knowledge of the global political stage. I understand with your "art" degree, it may not be that necessary. No issue with that. The issue is your constantly making reckless and senseless statements such as, "For months Comer has been portraying CEFC in the most unflattering light, calling it a "Chinese Communist Party (CCP) linked". I guess by definition EVERY Chinese company is linked to the CCP."

The truth is that since China (PRiC) is in fact a "communist" system with a "self-appointed despot for life." You completely misunderstand the political motives of every avenue of the country. Background🙄; Communism by definition is a a totalitarian system of government in which a single authoritarian party controls state-owned means of production. This means there are NO businesses other than those owned by the CCP. Period. End of story. They don't exist. Ergo, any business entity is an auspice of the CCP.

I would think that any person that graduated from any accredited "high school" in the US should know this. This might be the issue with many leftists.

    OD,
So how to feel about Trump doing business with CEFC? See link.

So this turned into a "whataboutism?" You should have thought about that before you wrote the thread title. Or paid attention in middle school. One of the two.

  7. by Curt_Anderson on February 25, 2024 8:10 pm
OD, did you read my first sentence? I said the House Republicans, in particular, James Comer, are incriminating their own and by that I meant Donald Trump.

The congressional Republicans are an extension of Trump‘s terrible courtroom lawyers. They aren’t hurting Joe Biden and they’re not doing Trump any favors.
