Kelce's KC Chiefs was bad enough, the right probably isn't too happy that liberal San Francisco is also in the Super Bowl.

The fulminations surrounding the world’s biggest pop icon — and girlfriend of Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce — reached the stratosphere after Kansas City made it to the Super Bowl.

The pro-Trump broadcaster Mike Crispi led off on Sunday by claiming that the National Football League is “rigged” in order to spread “Democrat propaganda”.

The right has been fuming about Ms. Swift since September, when she urged her fans on Instagram to register to vote, and the online outfit Vote.org reported a surge of 35,000 registrations in response. Ms. Swift had embarked on a world tour that helped make her a billionaire. Gavin Newsom, the California governor, praised her as “profoundly powerful.” And then Time magazine made her Person of the Year in December, kicking off another round of MAGA indignation.

The love story that linked her world with the N.F.L. has proved incendiary. Mr. Kelce’s advertisements promoting Pfizer’s Covid vaccine and Bud Light — already a target of outrage from the right over a social media promotion with a transgender influencer, Dylan Mulvaney — added fuel to that raging fire.

Curt, the right has fallen weightless, into believing anything they need to believe, or believe they have to believe.

They are suckers ripe for the harvesting.

  2. by HatetheSwamp on January 30, 2024 4:49 pm

    Who's Mike Crispi? Really.

And, "The right has been fuming about Ms. Swift since September,...?"

If you had a sense of humor, I'd be bahaing my a$$ off. Me and my buds have guffawed over Taylor and Travis more than over Joe's mumblings on beer, abortion and God savin the friggin queen, man! Not to mention the John Wayne pony soldier thing.

Where do you come up with this stuff!!!!!?

Keehee hoo hoo hehehe he ha, ahhhhhhhhhhh!

Taylor Swift has not uttered a word about the 2024 presidential election. But the mere prospect that the pop superstar could endorse President Biden has sent conservatives on Fox News into conniptions.

“Why would someone as popular as she is alienate your fans, the Swifties?” Jeanine Pirro said on “The Five,” before addressing the singer directly. “So don’t get involved! Don’t get involved in politics! We don’t want to see you there!”

“Please don’t believe everything Taylor Swift says,” urged one commentator, Charly Arnolt. “We’re all begging you.”

And Sean Hannity, using his prime time soapbox on Tuesday evening, suggested that Democrats were leading Ms. Swift astray. “Does Taylor realize the guy that they want her to endorse is a kind of stumbling, bumbling mess?” he asked.

    Untrue.

    Untrue, HtS? Link?

  6. by HatetheSwamp on January 31, 2024 11:20 am

What could possibly be a link to document an, uh, un-conniption? Has Taylor Swift been mentioned on Fox?, no doubt. But, Curt you have no knowledge of conniptions.

I think I enjoyed the Babylon Bee article alleging conservative conniptions more than any I've ever seen because it exposed your woke Swampcult paranoia to the tee.

    This is frigginEFFINfreakin hilarious!...

    ...as are you, baha.

  7. by Curt_Anderson on January 31, 2024 11:26 am
    HtS,
That's the part you wanted us to know was untrue?! Conniptions is not a medical diagnosis.

    conniption
    [ kuh-nip-shuhn ]
    noun
Often conniptions. Informal. a fit of hysterical excitement or anger.

What I want US to know is that you don't know what the EFF your posting about. You have no firsthand knowledge of, in this case, Fox News, and your second, thirdhand or worse knowledge comes from sources that are extremely biased and unreliable, and that you go to no effort to balance your intake of data...

...then, you editorialize as if you're commenting on scientific fact.

IOW, what you posted is bull$#!t.

I.e., you're becoming po. Boohoo hoohoo hoohoo hoo.

  9. by Curt_Anderson on January 31, 2024 11:59 am
I thought you told us that you were boycotting FOX News. Here for your enlightenment is a sampling of news clips from FOX and other rightwing media sources.

  10. by oldedude on January 31, 2024 12:19 pm
So I don't care about any of this. It's just another "artist" that fell hook, line, and sinker for not having to think the rest of they're lives.

  11. by HatetheSwamp on January 31, 2024 12:24 pm

I am boycotting Fox NEWS. But, I've said that when YouTube sends me a video that looks interesting, I watch it. So far, I've seen no conniption videos.

    But, that's not my point.

My point is that you have no firsthand knowledge of what's on Fox Nees and that your second, thirdhand or worse sources are biased and unreliable...

...AND, I'll add. You've boasted about that proudly in the past.

  12. by Curt_Anderson on January 31, 2024 12:27 pm
    HtS,
You seem to be having a meltdown. Apparently it's an epidemic within the rightwing community.

  13. by HatetheSwamp on January 31, 2024 1:09 pm

No meltdown at all. I got a little lazy with the bahas.

One of my primary sources of amusement on SS is the condescension and sanctimony of y'nes in the progressive Swampcult. You think of yourselves too enlightened to actually consume Fox filth. You'd never soil yourselves... but you can't resist condemning it, describing it in gory detail... in unmitigated and openly-acknowledged ignorance... of which you and po, especially, boast, gleefully.

It's as if Fox News is a bloody train wreck with bodies strewn all across the countryside, which you happen upon. You know that to catch even a glimpse of it would destroy your well being forever, so you don't actually look.

Then, every day for the rest of your life, you can't resist burdening anyone and everyone with stories of being there... whether people want to know or not. Even though nuthin you say is true.

The fact is that you've been clear. You have no firsthand knowledge of Fox... and you never will... EFFINproudly! As a matter of deeply held principle!

    SILLY, dude!

Comical that anyone would believe the Chefs are liberals.

    "Explain that with those nuggies."

  16. by Indy! on February 2, 2024 8:42 am

"Chefs"... that's the name of the Kansas City team. That's why their fanbase is called "the Kitchen".

    The "Chef's Kitchen".

Holyshit is the GOP ever terrified of her and her power!

Even if that's a play on words, it's pretty cheesy, and not that good.

  19. by Indy! on February 2, 2024 10:30 am

Ooops... looks like we have a Chef fan on the board here. Hey... OD, you know what they say - "If you can't stand the heat, get out of the Kitchen"

  20. by oldedude on February 2, 2024 1:41 pm
I'm not, and haven't watched a full game in the past, oh I dunno six years?

  21. by Indy! on February 2, 2024 7:27 pm

That would mean you don't have much room to pretend like you're the expert on the Chefs and/or their Kitchen.

  22. by oldedude on February 3, 2024 1:21 am
nope! I really don't give a shit about American Football. That's why I asked the question. Butt all I got was a stupid non-answer as usual. So I'm betting you don't know crap about it either.
