Whenever Biden makes a verbal slip MAGA cultists insist it is evidence of senility. However when 77 year-old Trump launches into a confused rant they are silent.

While campaigning against Nikki Haley, Trump brought up the U.S. Capitol attack.

“By the way, they never report the crowd on Jan. 6. You know Nikki Haley, Nikki Haley, Nikki Haley. You know they — do you know they destroyed all of the information, all of the evidence, everything, deleted and destroyed all of it. All of it,” the former president said.

“Because of lots of things like Nikki Haley is in charge of security — we offered her 10,000 people, soldiers, national guards, whatever they want. They turned it down. They don’t want to talk about that. These are very dishonest people.”

Trump continues to distort cognitive test he took
(WaPo)Donald Trump this week bragged about purportedly acing a widely used cognitive test that was administered to him when he was president, suggesting that the test included identifying drawings of three animals.

“I think it was 35, 30 questions,” the former president said in Portsmouth, N.H., of the test, which he said involved a few animal identification queries. “They always show you the first one, like a giraffe, a tiger, or this, or that — a whale. ‘Which one is the whale?’ Okay. And that goes on for three or four [questions] and then it gets harder and harder and harder.”

Ziad Nasreddine, the Canadian neurologist who invented the test, said the assessment [is] intended primarily to test for signs of dementia or other cognitive decline.

Experts also note that the assessment is not an I.Q. or intelligence test, though Trump has often talked about it as if it was.

“It’s a very, very low bar for somebody who carries the nuclear launch codes in their pocket to pass and certainly nothing to brag about,” said Jonathan Reiner, a cardiologist and professor of medicine and surgery at the George Washington School of Medicine & Health Sciences.

    Curt,

How's your cognitive state?... because I've been saying repeatedly for a looooooooong time that I don't support Trump. You, OTOH, defend and support Mr. God save the Queen, man at every possible turn.

As far as these cognitive tests are concerned, as you know, my Dad died several years ago with extremely advanced vascular dementia. Near the end, our family was pressuring the staff of the facility to transfer dad to a unit in which he'd receive a higher level of care.

He was evaluated...and eventually moved to a unit better matched to the state of his extreme decline. However, in the course of that evaluation, the staff member administered the same cognitive test every geezer receives during their annual Medicare wellness exam: You're given three unrelated nouns and after a few minutes, when other parts of the exam are attended to, you're asked to repeat those three words. As it turned out, dad would die about a month later. He'd forgotten my mom's name a year earlier. He didn't remember who my wife was, and he'd known her for nearly 50 years...

...but he aced that cognitive test on that day.

Be honest, Curt. Do you really believe that President Biden ain't suffering from cognitive decline?

HtS, I honestly don't believe Biden has any problematic mental decline in the way you suggest.

Speaking for myself, when I was younger, I was a whiz at Trivial Pursuit...I could recollect obscure facts almost instantly. I also could run a 4:32 mile. We all slow down physically and mentally. We also gain wisdom as we age. With experience most of us also learn to deliberate, delegate and when to rely on the expertise of others. If we are smart, we know and learn from history.

The buzzer-slapping mental quickness of quiz show contestants isn't needed to be president.

Trump is under the delusion that he knows more than anybody else. Being the head of his eponymous company didn't teach Trump collaboration and cooperation which is necessary in our divided government. His idea of "all the best people" is to surround himself with sycophants.

Republican presidential primary candidate Nikki Haley raised concerns about former President Trump’s mental fitness Saturday after he appeared to mix up her and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.).

“Last night, Trump is at a rally,” Haley said in a clip posted on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter. “And he’s going on and on, mentioning me multiple times as to why I didn’t take security during the Capitol riots, why I didn’t handle January 6th better. I wasn’t even in D.C. on January 6th. I wasn’t in office then.”

“They’re saying he got confused, that he was talking about something else, he’s talking about Nancy Pelosi, he mentioned me multiple times in that scenario,” Haley continued. “The concern I have is, I’m not saying anything derogatory, but when you’re dealing with the pressures of a presidency, we can’t have someone else that we question whether they’re mentally fit to do this.”

    Wow.

There are none so blind as those who will not see. I don't think that you're lyin. I do suspect that you're a fool.

Just curious how you splain to yourself that Joe regularly makes inappropriate comments like, "God save the Queen, man!" That ain't right, Curt.

And, much more disturbingly, "I love your ears." [See link] You can offer your own explanation, but that's classic behavior among people with dementia...

Biden has been the master of the gaffe and malaprop for decades. It's not an age-related decline. I know intelligent people who mispronounce words or fumble idiomatic expressions.

You are making too big a thing of Bidenisms. You dredge up things that Biden said months and years ago. Trump says crazy things daily which you are loathe to mention.

Nikki Haley has a point about Trump and his protracted confusion.

"I love your ears," spoken by an 81 year old man to a six year old girl ain't a gaffe.

  9. by Curt_Anderson on January 20, 2024 2:18 pm
Don't worry about it. It's more common to compliment somebody on their eyes than on their ears, but it's not a "Grab 'em by the pussy. You can do anything." type remark.

Nor is does it compare to Trump's beauty pageant creepiness.

Former Miss Arizona: Trump "came strolling right in" to Miss USA dressing room
“I’ll go backstage before a show and everyone’s getting dressed and ready and everything else. And you know, no men are anywhere. And I’m allowed to go in because I’m the owner of the pageant. And therefore, I’m inspecting it. You know I’m inspecting it. I want to make sure everything is good,” Trump told Stern at the time. “You know they’re standing there with no clothes. Is everybody OK? And you see these incredible looking women. And so I sort of get away with things like that.”

    Curt,

Your whataboutism with Trump means nuthin to me. I despise Trump. And, it don't prove that Joe's not demented.

Joe's is dirty old man behavior. It's classic dementia. Many people with dementia lose the ability to maintain the boundaries that make normal social discourse possible.

That's what a dirty old man is.

“Your whataboutism with Trump means nuthin to me.”. —HtS

Classic projection! Read the title and opening of this thread. It’s about Trump. You attempt to defend Trump by whataboutizing Biden. And lamely so.

Trump is a self-admitted voyeur, pussy grabber and jury identified sexual assaulter…yet you defend him unabashedly.

  12. by HatetheSwamp on January 20, 2024 4:03 pm

    Curt,

I ain't defending Trump. I think that Trump is despicable. I support Ron DeSantis for President.

I'm guessing you didn't actually watch the Trump rally and see what Trump said and how he said it. Typical. The truth of the matter... and I'm sure you know this. An overwhelming majority of voters have concluded that "that feckless dementia-ridden piece of crap" doesn't have the cognitive wherewithal to win reelection... and, y'nes are shouting, "SEE! SEE! Trump's demented, too."

And, he may be. But, America knows. Joe's brain is shot.

All this brouhaha about Trump's moment of confusion? It's all about Joe.

Presidential candidates can be so cruel. 😢

President Biden mocked former President Trump on Sunday for appearing to mix up Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley with former Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) during a campaign rally this weekend.

“I don’t agree with Nikki Haley on everything, but we agree on this much: She is not Nancy Pelosi,” Biden wrote in a post on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, attaching a campaign ad that knocked Trump for the mix-up and highlighted concerns about his mental fitness.

The stress of Trump's legal problems may be causing his cognitive problems.

Stress affects the immune system, which is known to play an important role in the development of dementia. A key hormone released when you're stressed, cortisol, has been linked to problems with memory. Stress is also closely linked to conditions such as depression and anxiety.

Considering how devoted Joe is as a father, his brain must be dissolving inside his skull. I'll make a deal with you, Curt. If you don't vote for Joe, I won't vote for Trump. Baha.
