Abortion is the GOPs' Achilles heel for 024.

pb thinks that Big Brother-ism is out in 024 and that the one issue in which waaaaaaaaaay too many GOPs are happy to carry a Big Brother big stick is abortion.

Trump is moderate on abortion and he tells the truth about the Dems and abortion in this video from last night's Fox News Town Hall.

Check it out:

“…abortion, even after the baby is born“ — Donald Trump in the above video

What is he even talking about?!

  2. by HatetheSwamp on January 11, 2024 10:13 am

    Curt,

Tell me that you are joshin and really do know what he's talking about. Please tell me that you ain't so duped by Holy Trinity propaganda.

    Please. Curt!

Oh, please please please please please, my humorless SS colleague. Confirm for us that you're merely attempting to be clever...

    ...yet failing.

  3. by Ponderer on January 11, 2024 10:18 am

Curt, I think he actually believes that his babbling incoherency means something. His followers are used to him speaking in such a tongue. They can understand it. It means to them and they hear exactly whatever they want to hear and for it to mean. To us, it's just a mish-mash of gobbledygook.

We are simply "Not of the Body", as it were.....

  4. by HatetheSwamp on January 11, 2024 10:24 am

So. You don't know what he's talking about either? My guess is that Donna may have digested enuff real world information to know.

Okay. This was especially true in an Ohio case. Ohio voters had the opportunity to vote on "Issue 1." Which would make partial birth abortions legal.

“For many years, in Ohio and in this country, we’ve had a law that said a partial-birth abortion — where the child is partially delivered and then killed and then finally delivered — was illegal in Ohio,” the governor continued. “This constitutional amendment would override that.”

A D&X procedure involved dilating the woman’s cervix, then pulling the fetus through the cervix, feet-first to the neck. The head was then punctured and the skull emptied and compressed to allow the fetus to fit through the dilated cervix. Before the federal ban, it was used for both abortions and miscarriages in the second and third trimesters of pregnancy.

Here's the punchline. In 2003, U.S. Senate when the Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act which makes the D&X procedure illegal in the US. The Ohio law cannot violate federal law, sooooo, although it reads that way, Those abortions cannot be performed. It's a jumble. Some states are trying to put it through, testing the law for SCOTUS, although it hasn't gotten that far yet. There are states that have tried to make the D&X procedure legal in their states, and no one is ready to go there yet.

Apparently there are a bunch of folks that didn't know about the 2003 law. And I hope it clears it up some.

No, OD, I posted before seeing your post above mine.

Aside from abortion after birth not making sense, it is hardly the winning argument HtS thinks it is.

  9. by oldedude on January 11, 2024 12:54 pm
I'm pretty certain you didn't know about the 2003 law when this started. And I'm also pretty sure you didn't know that some "flyover state" (an elitist prig term for "a state not worth stopping at) was doing that as the liberals cheered them on in the active attempt to circumvent federal laws.

With the sheep cheering over Six states and Washington, D.C., do not impose any term restrictions. That has not changed since the overturning of Roe.

"no term restrictions" DO mean partial birth abortions, late abortions to the day of birth, etc. So the feds would have to be aware of this and find a case to take the state to court over the 2003 law. pedojoe and your cohorts aren't interested in doing that at all.

I honestly don't know if it's willful ignorance, blind stupidity, or too much weed and acid. I do 'member that. And how they were "proud" of how they made that child comfortable before they murdered them. You woulda thunked PETA was coaxing them into a "more gentle way" to murder pigs. Actually, I don't think he cares. I mean, he's given every excuse for the rape trees, so an infant? They're not "human" yet because they don't think like him.

HtS thinks that Trump's remarks, which he's made before, is an election winner for him. Only gullible, dumb people would believe that there such a thing as abortion after the baby is born, and Trump already has a lock on gullible, dumb people. In case anybody didn't know, infanticide is illegal.

Fact check: Virginia governor’s 2019 comments about abortion bill are missing context
A meme shared by over 70,766 on Facebook misrepresents comments made by Virginia Governor Ralph Northam in 2019 when he was asked about a bill that, among other things, aimed to ease restrictions for third trimester abortions in the state. The meme falsely suggests that Northam is in favor of legalizing infanticide by leaving out some key contextual references in his remarks.

Trump’s misleading comments about Gov. Ralph Northam and infanticide, explained
Virginia House Bill 2491, which would loosen some restrictions on abortion in Virginia, got national attention at the end of January. The bill would not change the time limit in which a person can get an abortion in Virginia, but it would broaden the health exceptions allowing someone to get an abortion in the third trimester.

Meme Misquotes Virginia Governor on Abortion Bill
A meme misquotes Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam on a proposed abortion bill that aims to address nonviable pregnancies and severe fetal abnormalities. Northam, a pediatric neurologist, supports the bill, but the meme falsely implies he condones infanticide.

Nice try, Curt. But, Trump nailed it. A Dem Gov advocated abortion AFTER A BABY IS BORN ALIVE.

You are a world-class Good German.

Trump's point is that the Dems are the radicals on abortion. They are.

If many suburban women knew that it's groovy with Dems... like you... that a baby would be permitted to be born alive and then, as Dem Gov Ralph Northam says so calmly,...so avuncularly... experience an "abortion," they would be appalled...as is pb.

Rewatch the Trump video. Every Trump word is truth!

And, buddy. You ain't just a Good German. You're all Big Brother.

appreciated. I couldn't do any of
this without people just like you."

  17. by oldedude on January 12, 2024 7:04 am
I agree with lead. This has been a "thing" since SCOTUS figured out Roe was an over-reach of the federal government.

“If a mother is in labor, I can tell you exactly what would happen. The infant would be delivered. The infant would be kept comfortable. The infant would be resuscitated if that’s what the mother and the family desired, and then a discussion would ensue between the physicians and the mother.”

curt argues this was "only" for: “third-trimester abortions” that are done in cases “where there may be severe deformities. There may be a fetus that’s non viable” he said. which is technically true. Except that only gullible, dumb people would believe it wouldn't be misused.

This is a lot like getting a license to smoke medical weed. You go in and tell the "doctor" you can't sleep, and they write down "back pain." AND the money that abortion clinics make from selling body parts is how they stay afloat. So they don't care less about the child. And the body parts are off the books, so they're just after the money.

  20. by HatetheSwamp on January 12, 2024 12:08 pm

Thing is, The Women's Health Protection Act, passed by House Dems several times, provides for abortion up to the moment of birth.

And, as the video shows, former VA Governor Ralph Northam supported post-birth abortion.

    indy, that's interesting.

Six states and Washington, D.C., do not impose any term restrictions. That has not changed since the overturning of Roe. CO, DC, NJ, NM, OR, and VT have abortion LEGAL during ANY time of pregnancy.

CA, CO, CT, DC, DE, HI, MA, MD, MN, NC, NV, NY, OR, PA, VT, WA, WY have not enacted bans on partial-birth abortions.

SO.... in CO, DC, OR, and VT, there are no restrictions on abortions including partial birth abortions.

I just listed the states that obviously want abortion on demand. Was that done by the GOP?🙄

Eric Adams blasts pro-life 'radical extremists,' says women have 'right' to abortions up until day of birth.

About 30 Senate Democrats marched down the steps of the Capitol on Tuesday to declare their support for abortion rights and shout their solidarity with protesters who gathered just across the Capitol plaza in front of the Supreme Court.

It was a typical rally. Democrats blamed Republicans for creating a Supreme Court majority that, according to a draft opinion leaked to Politico, intends to end federal abortion-rights protections by overturning Roe v. Wade. They spoke of a generation of women who will likely have fewer reproductive rights than their mothers, and they made promises to hold every Senator accountable.

The misnomer "partial birth" abortions is just a GOP fairy tale created to make necessary medical procedures sound evil. Those are almost exclusively dead fetuses being removed to protect the mother's life. Same goes for all those states "allowing" abortions at any time. They are referring to abortions to save the mother's life - not a birth control option. But the low hanging fruit in the GOP who can't understand a nuanced explanation will still cry about the (dead) babies being "killed" because they don't have the mental capacity to understand what is actually happening.

  25. by Ponderer on January 13, 2024 11:50 am

Indy!, if these clowns would accept shitcanning their asinine bullshit lying propaganda and actually discuss this as honest, civil people, I'm sure we'd accommodate them. But they've gotta flog their flaming bullshit into everyone's face as if it actually has anything to do with reality.

I wish I was rich. I would just love to offer a huge cash reward for anyone who can present one single solitary case of any woman ever having an abortion, purely out of a personal desire not to have the child, in the ninth month of pregnancy. Just one. Or even as many as these two propagandists here care to throw in our faces.

I know there may not be as many cases as that of Democrats bussing tens of thousands of illegal aliens into states to vote Democratic. But let's see how many they can find to support their asinine pig-ignorant farcical asshole bullshit nonsense lies.....

    1. I would be very interested to see you references on the "fairy tale" of partial birth abortions. Look up Gosnell.

    2. The states that are "allowing abortion during any time of the pregnancy" don't fall into the disclaimers. I specifically did not use that data for that reason. These are states with unrestricted access to abortion at any time. You should have actually looked at the article before you shoot your mouth off as usual.

    3. So what is the nuanced explanation? I'm also very interested in that also. Like Donna and I have talked about. I'm not an absolutist about abortion. Shit happens. That's a fact. So rape, genetic abnormalities, that sort of thing, I have no problem with. 16 weeks, I don't have a problem with. The slippery slope is "mother's health" like I said before. AND I do believe there are many times when the life/health of the mother IS a factor that needs to be addressed. My question is only about defining that without it being too restrictive. So I'll live it how it's defined now and live with it.
