So why would anybody want to vote for these guys?

    BUT WHAT ABOUT TRUMP!

  2. by HatetheSwamp on November 18, 2023 4:00 am

    Duh.

Back when the GOPs took the House, pb said that GOPs don't govern well. As per always, he nailed it.

One reason is that the Tea Party/MAGA gangs believe in limited government...and are predisposed to resist govern action.

Another, is that HouseGOPs haven't had effective leadership during our lifetimes. Mike Johnson may prove effective. He's done decently in the very short term.

  3. by Curt_Anderson on November 18, 2023 2:59 pm
What about Trump, OD? Is he supposed to be an accomplishment?

Rest assured that Chip Roy's rant will appear in the Democrats' campaign ads. So thank you!

  4. by oldedude on November 19, 2023 5:23 am
I just thought I would say it before you did.

as Lead says; TRUMP TRUMP TRUMP TRUMP TRUMP TRUMP TRUMP TRUMP

And this is something we kind of agree on, except he doesn't live rent free in my thoughts 24/7.

  5. by HatetheSwamp on November 19, 2023 6:49 am

Doing Trump whataboutism when there are no MAGAs around.

    Bahahahahahahahahahaha baha baha ha.

...Simply present him, and us, with one example of something good that the MGOP did worthy of cheering about...

most of what pedojoe has put through has been rebuked by SCOTUS.
    The "climate" bill
Every limitation of 2A bill and executive order.
    Et. al.

  8. by oldedude on November 19, 2023 7:32 pm
Again, you need to quit reading only one article of curt's holy trinity. It would help your "perspective."

  9. by Ponderer on November 20, 2023 5:38 am

Again... ...Simply present him, and us, with one example of something good that the MGOP did worthy of cheering about...

You can't, because you got NOTHING. The Republican party is absolutely worthless as a governing body.

  10. by HatetheSwamp on November 20, 2023 6:03 am

    Keehee!

I know that you remember that amazing Trump tax cut. Despite all your lies about it being only for the rich...because all you can do with Trump is lie,...

Evie and I pay EFFINno federal income tax, you liar.

And, remember the Supreme Court Justices who have rediscovered our "of the people, by the people and for the people" Constitution that is the gift of our Founders.

Oh, and, MGOP, po? If you only had a sense of humor...

    ...and, course,...

    A BRAIN. Keehee!

  11. by Ponderer on November 20, 2023 6:33 am

"I know that you remember that amazing Trump tax cut." -Hate

What I remember is not important. Why does a Republican Congress member not remember the "amazing Trump tax cut" so he can use it to gloat over the Democrats with it?

I am not a billionaire, so the paltry temporary middle class tax cut that was included in the permanent billionaire tax break bonanza of the early MGOP years didn't help me or anyone I know to any "amazing" degree worthy of cheering.

Maybe Republicans are loathe to bring it up because the vast majority of what they did only helped the wealthiest in the country and they don't want to shine light on what a stereotypical, billionaire-dick-sucking thing that was for them to do?

Why do you think that the GOP doesn't want to bring this up if it's as "amazing" as you say it was, Bill?

  12. by oldedude on November 20, 2023 7:27 am
In listening to the speech, he was speaking to the present congress. I'd agree with him on that. Leadership has been an issue, and they don't have a super majority in either house. So they have to get dims to vote with them. That only happens if the dim leadership gives their members permission. little nancy and schumer are still pissed about the elections and trumpster. Their demands for those votes draw off many GOP members.

As I said before, much of what the dims did while they were totally in power have been over-turned by the courts. This includes three gun bills (that claims were a great moment of bipartisanship).

  13. by HatetheSwamp on November 20, 2023 7:43 am

Why do you think that the GOP doesn't want to bring this up if it's as "amazing" as you say it was, Bill?

I hesitate to be rational with you, po, but, here goes. Pearls before swine, eh?

In the world of hour news cycles, Trump's tax cut will be seven years in the rear view mirror by the time the 024 campaign peaks out.

These days, people care about inflation, interest rates, immigration and international instability...all of which moderates and independents think Joe is weak on.

It's what GOPs are talking about and what, as 024 approaches, people care about.

BTW, while the tax thing is an accomplishment for Trump, I personally didn't favor it and think it was a bad thing foe us all.

Don't forget jobs for minorities, lower energy costs, and net zero energy trade.

Right now, our petro surpluses and emergency stocks are at extremely low points. That makes a difference to our economy.

    I see.

So then present us and this congressman with one example of something good that the Republicans did in regards to any of those things you mentioned that people care about that was worthy of a campaigning Republican to celebrate.......

  17. by HatetheSwamp on November 20, 2023 10:41 am

    Duh, po.

The GOPHouse has passed legislation addressing all these things but the SwampDem Senate scuttled them.

  18. by Curt_Anderson on November 20, 2023 10:56 am
    HtS,
So the Republicans accomplished nothing. The idea of government in America is to write bills that the other body will pass and the President will sign. In other words, compromise. Otherwise it’s just political show biz for the gullible.

  19. by oldedude on November 20, 2023 12:21 pm
Both Lead and I posted the unwillingness for the dims to compromise. Including pedojoe. If they're going to compromise as much as isle, po, donna and yourself, compromise is useless. It's everything the dims want, and nothing the GOP wants. That's what happened with the gun bills. They were passed but immediately went up the court system to be declared illegal according to the constitution and over-reach of the federal government.

You may recall, Curt, that pb said, from the beginning, that GOPs don't govern well. Like it or not, you're agreeing with ol pb.

po axed what the GOPs did. I answered.

They're griping about the issues that I described. They've passed legislation to address those issues. That the SwampDems didn't engage in constructive discussion... and offer EFFINcompromise ain't entirely the GOPs' problem.

That's why I'm HatetheSwamp. The rest of them would be too...if they only had a brain.

You are so unimaginably pathetic, Bill. I asked you for an example of one thing, anything. You gave me nothing. You just typed words that in no way were an example of anything but your ability to obfuscate the fact that you have nothing.

Give us one bill that the Republicans were going to help the American people with but the Democrats "scuttled", you shameless bullshitter you. You're just blathering nonsense that you wish was true and have nothing to prove any of it with. You are so fullofshit, Bill.

I don't know why I give you such a hard time Bill. I'm sorry. I understand what an impossible task defending and supporting the current excuse for a Republican party must be for you. But seriously, you are voluminously fullofshit.

  23. by HatetheSwamp on November 20, 2023 2:54 pm

    One example.

Nevertheless, po, again...for the gazillion time...pb's said, from the beginning, GOPs don't govern well.

Ironically, you've inadvertently veered into agreeing with pb. It's okay. The pain wears off.
