Rep. Ken Buck (R-CO), a former prosecutor, says that the Georgia case is “concerning”. He said the use of RICO is like using a nuclear bomb when a bullet would do. Buck went on to say that the challenge for Fani Willis is to prove Donald Trump‘s state of mind. That is she needs to prove that Donald Trump really knew he lost the election. Donald Trump’s team will argue that he was genuinely deluded or demented.

I ain't on Team Trump and I can only go as far as despicable. I reserve deranged for y'nes.

BTW, pb's legal goober #3's on Clay and Buck now. He's saying that, if Trump's found guilty, that's tough for him, but that's not likely.

"Everywhere I've kicked the tires, I've found problems."

    HtS,
    There are three options:
Trump is delusional and/or demented and believes he won.
Trump knew he lost, which means he had consciousness of guilt.
Trump really won…that means YOU are delusional.

  3. by HatetheSwamp on August 15, 2023 10:46 am

He's a narcissist. Demented is pushing it. He believes he won.

As do nearly half of likely voters.

  4. by Ponderer on August 15, 2023 11:01 am

So... Guilty by reason of insanity...? Bit of a long shot.

From everything I've heard about what the prosecution has, they can prove Consciousness of Guilt pretty solidly. Way beyond a reasonable doubt.

pb's still waiting on Legal Goober #1. So far, #s 2 and 3 hurled rotten tomatoes.

An insanity plea can’t work for Trump. At 3:41 a.m. on January 7, Pence as President of the Senate announced the certified results of the 2020 presidential election in favor of Biden.

Trump knew this, his lawyers told him it was over and he lost.

Trump broke state and federal laws. Protesting the results which he had a right to do, does not give him the right to break the law. To use insanity, Trump would have to to plead “guilty”. But convincing the jury that he thought he’d really won the election won’t make a bit of difference, he’d have to convince the jury that he bears no responsibility for what he did because he’s insane.

Good luck with that !!! LoL

Just aksin. Where did he break the law in GA. I think it's a fair question. In order to prove anything in court, you MUST prove a violation of the law.

    Please 'splain.

    Yeah.

Legal Goobers #s 1, 2, and 3, the members of pb's Legal Advisory Council have all checked in. Right, right. We all know that Teri is the ultimate in objective legal analysis...keeheeheeheeheeheeheehee hoo.

None of them see Trump being guilty of this Georgia stuff.

That "Funny" Willis engineered these charges...

...and that so many on the left are orgasmic over her (can't you just imagine po and isle putting a Fani Willis poster on the ceiling above their bed)...

...demonstrates conclusively that nearly everyone who opposes Trump is, as po'd say, effinINSANE!

Interestingly, what I think I'm seeing is these Trump-deranged prosecutors turning Trump into a sympathetic figure...which ain't easy...

    ...AMONG MODERATES, INDEPENDENTS AND LIBERTARIANS!

Part of derangement, in any context, is irrationality and loss of self-control.

TDSers have gone bonkers with a crazy weaponization of the legal system...and pb thinks that people who aren't MAGA who love Trump, and people who have TDS and hate Trump, are beginning to notice.

These indictments may, ultimately, be a tidal wave that Trump rides back into the Oval Office.

Trump, the Big Brother oppressed victim. Baha.

    Wouldn't that be a hoot!!!!!?

"TDSers have gone bonkers with a crazy weaponization of the legal system..." -Hate

It's not our fault that Trump broke so many laws and committed so many felonies. So your rationale is that since he's committed so many crimes, he should be allowed to get away with them all...?

Saying that the justice system has been weaponized is like saying that the fire department has "weaponized" water and fire hydrants to fight fires with. The purpose of those things is to fight fires. The purpose of the justice department and laws is to uphold the law and try and punish criminals. Trump could have avoided all of this by simply not having committed any crimes.

But he can't. As I have said many times, he is a career criminal. It's an ingrained part of his existential foundation. He has gotten so used to committing crimes and getting away with them that he believes himself to be invincible and above the law no matter what he does.

No one is supposed to be above the law, Bill. I know that you have wet dreams from thinking that Trump is entitled to be above the law and able to get away with any crimes he commits, but the Constitution says otherwise I am afraid.

He has got to be held accountable. The foundation this country is built on demands it.
