The FBI and Wray (per se) have refused to turn over an FBI report of a witness describing a bribery scheme involving pedojoe. Wray has not said the report doesn't exist, he isn't saying anything at all. So now we have DOJ, Treasury, FBI and the IC refusing to turn over requested information in this case. I'd get excited, but it's a routine if the defendant is a dim.

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) threatened to bring contempt charges against FBI Director Christopher Wray if he fails to furnish a key document Tuesday.

Republicans led by Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) have long pursued a document they believe details information about an alleged exchange of money between President Joe Biden and a foreign national. Comer subpoenaed Wray roughly a month ago for the file and gave him until Tuesday as a deadline.

"If he misses the deadline today, I am prepared to move contempt charges in Congress against him. We have jurisdiction over this. He can send us that document. We have the right to look at that," McCarthy told Fox and Friends.

Comer has also threatened contempt proceedings if Wray fails to produce the file. In response to the subpoena, the FBI delivered a letter outlining background information on the situation and cited concerns that there were “programmatic issues related to confidential human source reporting,” according to Comer.

The GOP was tipped off to the existence of the FD-1023 form by a whistleblower who alleged an informant flagged those concerns, according to Republicans. Comer has publicly admitted that so far, his panel "can't track down the informant," making the file critical to the panel's inquiry into the matter.

Comer has long accused the Biden family of engaging in influence-peddling schemes abroad. White House Counsel's Office spokesman Ian Sams has previously countered that Comer has consistently "been promising then failing to deliver" a smoking gun against Biden.

Earlier this month, Comer unveiled a report featuring allegations that nine Biden family members accrued money from foreign countries such as China and Romania. More specifically, he alleged that the Biden family and their associates received over "$10 million" from companies belonging to foreign nationals, including while Joe Biden served as vice president.

Law enforcement is a part of the Executive Branch. Congress is tasked with oversight.

There are three branches of government. I think it's time to go to court.

I think that's going to be a "process" and won't be done before the election.

It's more than a little disheartening when a federal agency just flat refuses to any subpoena from congress. This happens to both sides and I'm never happy with either. I figure if the average person would spend a couple of nights in jail, the head of an agency ought to be charges with a class "E" felony (the least of the felonies). It might wake these folks up because you can't hold a clearance if your convicted of any felony (and some misdemeanors).

It is safe to assume that, at some point in June 2020, the FBI interviewed someone who made an accusation involving Joe Biden.

It's hard to know much beyond that. The FBI won't say much about it, despite the energetic prodding of congressional Republicans. At the same time, those same Republicans aren’t interested in sharing with Democrats the details of how they know about this purported interview --- very intentionally leaving outside observers with no viable assumption beyond the one identified above.

Rep. James Comer and Sen Chuck Grassley wrote to Attorney General Merrick Garland and FBI Director Christopher A. Wray, "describes an alleged criminal scheme involving then-Vice President Biden and a foreign national relating to the exchange of money for policy decisions."

The FBI dutifully recorded that someone's allegations, but was not able to corroborate, validate or determine the credibility of the allegation. Nor did that someone provide evidence. So that's all the FBI has: an allegation without evidence or proof.

It's almost comical how the Republicans were up in arms about the FBI investigation of Trump and the Russians when there were red flags ("Russia, if you're listening...") but they want a full scale investigation of Joe Biden based on an alleged allegation.

Then splain why the FBI ain't being transparent.

Because it is not the job of the FBI to help Republicans traffic in innuendoes.

The FBI and other parts of government hears from crackpots all the time. The bat wielding nut who attacked Rep. Gerry Connolly's office staff this month previously filed a wacky lawsuit last year against the Central Intelligence Agency that claimed he had been wrongfully imprisoned in a “lower perspective”—part of a scheme to torture him from the “fourth dimension,” according to NBC News.

The FBI shouldn't give flimsy accusations and paranoid complaints credibility by having James Comer or Jim Jordan launch a congressional investigation into "fourth dimension" torture schemes or whatever anybody with a grudge alleges.

I don't think that makes him less of a threat at all. If nothing else, it makes him MORE of a threat to life and limb. Where do you get this?

It's hard to know much beyond that. The FBI won't say much about it, despite the energetic prodding of congressional Republicans.
You didn't read what the bureau said. They admitted they had the document. That's NEVER been in question. They've been trying to circumvent the system with the same reasoning trumpster, and then FBI agents/ secret service had against the trumpster. I see both sides getting stonewalled by the bureau.
The other issue is the bureau is using the "identity of the CI/CS (whichever he was) as leverage. In either case, his name would not be mentioned. In the report, he would only be identified through his number and only his number. And that's easily taken out of the report. These are the issues that frustrates me.

At the same time, those same Republicans aren’t interested in sharing with Democrats the details of how they know about this purported interview --- very intentionally leaving outside observers with no viable assumption beyond the one identified above.
I think you purposefully misread the article, there's a quote from Connolly that said the ENTIRE COMMITTEE NEEDED TO READ THE INFORMATION. I'm just sayin' that includes both sides of the aisle...
