"Kamala denounces teaching women's history in favor of "gender ideology"" -Hate

You are such a god damned liar, Bill. And a pretty lame-ass stupid one at that.

And most recently, they [Republicans] even want to eliminate classes that teach 'gender ideology.' So what are we talking about here? Classes that teach women's history? Women's equality? The study of the fact that there are only twenty five women in the United States Senate, in a body of one hundred?" -K. Harris.

Please explain for the class just exactly how you interpret that to mean that she is denouncing teaching women's history in any way at all. Let alone in favor of "gender ideology".

I will allow for the possibility that you simply made a mistake when you heard that clip and in your barely conscious zeal and religious fervor to stick it to the Libs, you just blurted out the worst interpretation of what you think she said that you could pull out of your ass. You really need some sort of governor on that reflex you have, Bill. Rather than making it ever appear that you have a valid point, it just makes you look like a blithering, babbling idiot.

Boy, this is dumber that the old classic "You didn't build that" Asininity.

    HtS,
Name calling is the go-to response of liars. You lied about Vice President Harris. We get it. We are used to it.

  4. by HatetheSwamp on May 17, 2023 9:12 am

    Noop.

She denigrated the teaching of women’s history when gender ideology could be taught.

Her point? Teaching women's history is important. But, compared to the teaching of gender ideology, it's nuthin.

We get it. We get it real good.

  5. by Curt_Anderson on May 17, 2023 9:18 am
You either intentionally mischaracterized what Harris said are you unintentionally misconstrued what she said. If it’s the former, you’re a liar, if it’s the latter, you’re a fool.

  6. by Hunter28 on May 17, 2023 9:49 am

I think it is absolutely awesome that Hater is spending all his time talking about Kamala Harris and Bud Light. The more time conservatives spend talking about these things, the less they're talking about stuff voters actually care about.

Did you hear that Democrats are going to tear down the statue of liberty and illegal immigrants are going to rebuild it out of melted Bud Light cans with Dylan Mulvaney as the new face of Lady Liberty? And the torch will lit in rainbow colors every Kwanzaa. I saw it on Twitter! It's true! Tell all your conservative friends.

  7. by HatetheSwamp on May 17, 2023 10:12 am

    28,

pb laughs about whatever the progressive Swamp does. He's an in the moment kinda dude.

    Curt,

My guess is that you progressives don't see CNN or MSNBC playing videos of Kammy's word salads. On Fox, they're a regular "lighter side" news items. Ahhhhhhhhhhh, those were the days.

This is typical Kammy imbicilism. Apparently, she was supposed to highlight the importance of the study of women’s history but ended up comparing its importance unfavorably to the promotion of gender ideology.

This is what happens when a "feckless dementia-ridden piece of crap" makes a diversity hire of his Veep. Baha baha.

"She denigrated the teaching of women’s history when gender ideology could be taught." -Hate

She absolutely and 100% in no way whatsoever did that, Bill. That is the stupidest, most intentionally mendacious or brainlessly absurd interpretation of what she said I think you could have ever come up with. You are a fool.

Hunter, it seemed to me that what she was suggesting is that if MAGA Republicans are successful with eliminating "gender ideology" studies in schools, wouldn't that also include women's studies as well? But yeah, with things going as relatively well with the Biden administration as they are, Hate's got precious little else to use for ammunition. He is currently so flailing and desperate that he doesn't care how small the straws are that he grasps at.

And yeah, I hate what the Woke Dems are going to do to the Statue of Liberty. I heard that they're even going to remodel the statue's museum and gift shop into a hundred all-expenses paid, permanent housing units exclusively for illegal immigrants caught bringing a minimum of fifty pounds of either Fentanyl, heroin, or cocaine over the border. It's just terrible.

Of course. It was an innocuous and reasonable comment.

It's sort of like saying, "Our state just passed a law banning the teaching of evolution. Since evolution is a fundamental part of biology, does that mean we can't teach biology, either?"

So it's reasonable to ask: "If we can't talk about gender, can we talk about women's history? The two are sorta related."

"Do you think "women's studies" should be taught in public schools?" -Hate

Well, Hate. Based, admittedly, on how the history I recall learning about throughout my school years was extremely scant on many famous and heroic women, and especially women of color, in history and the revolutions and civil rights gains they struggled for and achieved was... yes. I think it should be.

  13. by HatetheSwamp on May 17, 2023 1:18 pm

    That's not women’s studies.

  14. by Hunter28 on May 17, 2023 1:50 pm
    Hater wrote:

    That's not women’s studies.

Yes, it is. "Women's studies" is not necessarily a class, but is rather a discipline or field in which there can be many different classes, units or topics. Colleges and universities may offer "women's studies" majors or minors. High schools may offer a one or two week unit on the suffrage movement in U.S. History classes.

Do you think "women's studies" should be taught in public schools?

I do not think schools should require a class on "women's studies."

However, I see no problem with schools offering electives that might fall under that umbrella. And I think it's a good idea for schools to have units that include issues related to women in social studies, history, health or other classes.

  15. by Ponderer on May 17, 2023 3:43 pm

Hate, you don't think women, the females of the species, constitute a specific gender...?

  16. by Ponderer on May 17, 2023 3:44 pm

    Spot on there Hunter!

  17. by HatetheSwamp on May 18, 2023 3:25 am

    po,

I think female is a sex.

  18. by HatetheSwamp on May 18, 2023 3:35 am

"Women's studies" is not necessarily a class, but is rather a discipline or field in which there can be many different classes, units or topics.

The last time I was on a university campus as a student was 30 years ago. It was relatively early in the Women's Studies era. I don't think there was a major there yet. There was a nice sized batch of courses...

...and, they were kooky. One prof who taught the courses effin REFUSED to allow males to enroll in her classes. Talk about violating individual liberties, eh!

Certainly, I think that the study of, say, history, should include much, much more than a focus on white males. But, Women's Studies?...in PUBLIC schools?

No, no. A thousand times no.

  19. by Ponderer on May 18, 2023 6:16 am

    You're an antediluvian moron, Bill.

  20. by Hunter28 on May 18, 2023 8:32 am

    Hater wrote:

Women's Studies?...in PUBLIC schools? No, no. A thousand times no.

Well, I'm not sure anyone is suggesting that public schools create "women's studies" classes. Maybe some electives here or there, but no class that every student is required to take.

Look, the whole point is trying to get students interested and engaged. And often the style of teaching -- both in public and private schools -- can be fairly dull and unengaging. Schools are trying to address that by offering more creative electives. For example, our local high school offers a class in "forensic biology," where they try to talk about the biology within the context of crime scene investigations. They're trying to make the curriculum more relevant and engaging. And once you have them engaged, you can also work on fundamentals like writing, speaking and critical reasoning within those classes.

So I could certainly see some schools experiment with creating new elective classes with different themes, including women's themes -- for example, a one semester elective on "Women in History." If that's something students are interested in, I don't see any problem with schools offering those courses.

But any elective has to be popular to be continued. If only a handful of students sign up for a class, they'll cancel it and those students will have to take something else.

Before you say no a thousand times, maybe first find out what is actually being suggested.

  21. by Ponderer on May 18, 2023 9:58 am

Thanks again, Hunter. I think we explained to them pretty well how absolutely absurdly wrong Hate was with his thread title. He was totally lying about what Kamala said.

Hate loves obfuscating and changing the subject every time he is shown to be wrong about something. After all is said and done, I love bringing the original topic back up so Hate can be reminded of how wrong he was from the start. Lest he forget.

  22. by HatetheSwamp on May 18, 2023 12:09 pm

    28,

As I said, I believe that the achievements of women in history should be incorporated into the study of history. What I object to is the kookiness of Women's Studies as I knew it back in the day.

That's what I say no to.

  23. by Ponderer on May 18, 2023 12:22 pm

"As I said, I believe that the achievements of women in history should be incorporated into the study of history." -Hate

Which a huge proportion of the population also believes.

    But it isn't.

That's the problem. And that problem is even worse for the achievements of minorities in the history taught to students.

  24. by HatetheSwamp on May 18, 2023 2:33 pm

Spend a lot of time in public school classrooms, do ya?

  25. by Ponderer on May 19, 2023 6:45 am

"Spend a lot of time in public school classrooms, do ya?" -Hate

Why would that have anything to do with the fact that you're a lying asshole, Bill?

"Kamala denounces teaching women's history in favor of 'gender ideology'" -Hate

That is a total fukking lie, and you know it, you lying bag of feces.

Why do you always have to lie so much, Bill? Is your position always so lamely weak and lacking of any substance that you are left having to constantly pull flaming bullshit out of your ass just to have something to argue with? That's certainly what it always looks like.

  26. by HatetheSwamp on May 19, 2023 7:12 am

Kammy compared unfavorably the value of study women’s history to the teaching gender ideology. She made the mistake of saying the woke quiet part out loud...

...and, she got busted!!!!! Baha baha.

    Gotcha, Kam!

  27. by Ponderer on May 19, 2023 7:25 am

"Kammy compared unfavorably the value of study women’s history to the teaching gender ideology." -Hate

You're lying. That's a lie. You're a flaming bald-faced lying liar who is constantly telling lies.

She did no such thing by any stretch of a sane imagination. Please quit lying, Bill.

Or at least try to not be such a pathetically lame one.

  28. by Hunter28 on May 19, 2023 8:15 am

    Hater wrote:

I'm struggling to see where you think she said that. Here is her quote:

And most recently, they [Republicans] even want to eliminate classes that teach QUOTE gender ideology. So what are we talking about here? Classes that teach women's history? Women's equality? The study of the fact that there are only twenty five women in the United States Senate, in a body of one hundred?"

The key word here is when she said "quote" before "gender ideology." She's calling out the specific term and asking what Republicans mean when they say "gender ideology."

Then she speculates about some of the topics that might be eliminated as a result of Republican efforts to eliminate "gender ideology" from schools.

Harris is essentially saying, "I don't know what they mean by 'gender ideology' and I don't care. But if they pass these laws, we may not be able to talk about important stuff like women's history and all the struggles they have faced."

So you're actually 180 degrees wrong. She's not promoting "gender ideology." That's a Republican straw man term. She is instead defending women and women's history.

  29. by HatetheSwamp on May 19, 2023 8:21 am

    28,

Did you actually watch, as Ponderer would say, EFFIN, video.

It's the "So what are we talking about here?" Kammy is an airhead and a head-case. But, this is where she denigrates. Disparages.

    Definitely.

  30. by Hunter28 on May 19, 2023 8:30 am

Yes, I did. I even provided a transcript of what Harris said. She is clearly questioning what Republicans mean when they say "gender ideology," and she mentions a few topics that could be eliminated if they get their way.

    You are incorrect.

  31. by Ponderer on May 19, 2023 8:37 am

Dear GOD I wish you the best of luck, Hunter. It's impossible to ever get him to ever admit to having made any mistake or flat-out lying.

    But Godspeed in your efforts.......

    28,

We encounter the subjectivity that is our truth most powerfully, through our ears, in my opinion. Listen, as best you can't, objectively...

    ...as best you can.

  33. by Ponderer on May 19, 2023 8:55 am

The only thing that I can figure he's basing his lie on is her use of the word "we". Perhaps he has deluded himself into thinking that by "we" she exclusively meant Democrats, who she was never even talking about.

    Am I getting warm, Bill...?

(Dear god it's "You didn't build that" all over again)

Yes, people who already hate the vice president will likely interpret her comments in the most negative way possible.

But try to be objective for a moment.

Do you really think the first female vice president would say it's not important to discuss women's history and the struggles they have endured?

It just seems so pathetic that you would latch onto this and dig your heels in. Look, liberals have said lots of silly and kooky things. Why don't you go criticize something we've actually said instead of making stuff up?

  35. by Ponderer on May 19, 2023 9:50 am

I would recommend you read the article below.

Donald Trump is probably unaware that he’s an avid practitioner of a debating method known among philosophers and rhetoricians as the Gish Gallop. Its aim is simple: to defeat one’s opponent by burying them in a torrent of incorrect, irrelevant, or idiotic arguments. Trump owes much of his political success to this tactic—and to the fact that so few people know how to beat it. Although his 2024 campaign has been fairly quiet so far, we can expect to hear a lot more Gish Galloping in the coming months.

    Sound familiar?

I have no idea from what source/s you acquire news. But, before the Tucker debacle, I regularly watched Fox's, THE FIVE and GUTFELD!. Both got dozens of laughs for playing videos of Kammy's so-called "word salads." This is far from the most notable. But, the ol Kamster did insert, first and foremost, that remark about gender ideology. There's no denying it.

The video ain't even close to the most ridiculous.

    View Video

  38. by Hunter28 on May 19, 2023 1:23 pm

Doesn't it bother you that everyone at Fox thinks that you and other viewers are idiots?

  39. by HatetheSwamp on May 19, 2023 1:50 pm

    28,

OD and I are the only two people here who understand that none of the cable "news" networks report news.

You must know that GUTFELD! is self-acknowledged entertainment. It's a late night comedy hour. It rarely even touches on the news of the day. THE FIVE is a hybrid. It's personality driven. It's about the panel, not the news and, often, avoids the daily news. It can be fun, but rarely informative.

If EVERYONE at Fox thinks OD and pb are idiots, I'm fine with that. My guess is that OD is, too. I don't know where you consume "news," but "Let me just say this about that, and let me make this perfectly clear," if you think that's really news, YOU are the idiot.
