The GOP seems proud that their latest ad is generated by artificial intelligence. The images, the voiceovers and the writing are reportedly all AI created. That's a tacit admission that Republicans are devoid of human creativity.
Does anybody see anything in that ad that couldn't have been produced ten or twenty years ago with stock footage? Artificial or not, the script of the ad isn't that intelligent. This ad uses the GOP's favorite tool: fearmongering. The ad asks viewers to imagine a Biden presidency amid dystopian AI imagery.
It's an entirely wrong approach to use against an incumbent who is been on the national scene for decades. We don't have to imagine a Biden presidency. We already know him. He is the President. He's not an unknown quantity.
A fearmongering ad worked, for example, when used against Barry Goldwater, an outspoken hawk, who was undone by LBJ's "Daisy ad".
