A little Uniparty, Swamp bashing. I don't agree with Tucker about everything but he's bang on about this.

Carlson is completely lacking in self-awareness. Note this BSer's concluding remarks in which he speaks of the importance of truth-tellers and that truth prevails.

  4. by HatetheSwamp on April 27, 2023 4:02 am

Note this BSer's concluding remarks in which he speaks of the importance of truth-tellers and that truth prevails.

    Interesting.

Tuck's comments on truth stuck out to me, too. Obviously, though, I understood him in a different way...and, perhaps, your take on it, Curt, reflects progressive sanctimony.

It struck me that, perhaps more than anyone else in all of the wide universe of talk media, Tucker Carlson speaks truth more transparently than anyone else. As I've said, I rarely agree with Carlson, i.e., my truth ain't his truth, but Yikes!, bubba!, TUCKER CARLSON SPEAKS HIS, as po'd say effin, TRUTH.

Theories abound, among people formerly in the Fox world, to account for the reality that Carlson was fired...and fired in the way he was fired. The most compelling note that Carlson wouldn't kowtow to Fox management. He would only speak his own truth and, even Rupert Murdock be damned!

Carlson’s truth is rarely pb's truth. Still, pb can't doubt that Tucker Carlson is a truth-teller and that he'll always reside "where truth prevails"... whether you or I ever embrace his truth.

My guess is that Carlson is about to become the most important person in talk media precisely for that reason.

"It struck me that, perhaps more than anyone else in all of the wide universe of talk media, Tucker Carlson speaks truth more transparently than anyone else." -Hate

He speaks lies, Bill. How are lies "truth"? He makes ups bullshit to sell or swipes it from other bullshit sellers. None of anything Carlson does has anything to do with the truth. How does his being the biggest prevaricator and dispenser of bullshit make him the greatest speaker of truth? Lies aren't truth, Bill. How can you possibly think that they are?

Name one truth that he nailed that no one else has.

I'll save you the trouble: You can't. Or you'll post some baseless, asinine opinion he has that has nothing whatsoever to do with reality. Forget I asked.

  6. by HatetheSwamp on April 27, 2023 8:27 am

He speaks lies, Bill. How are lies "truth"? He makes ups bullshit to sell or swipes it from other bullshit sellers.

I'm just taking a wild guess, po. You know nothing firsthand about ANYTHING Carlson has EVER said! But, then, you do center the universe. Bahahahahahahahahahaha.

None of anything Carlson does has anything to do with the truth.

As Pontius Pilate asked Jesus, "What is truth?" (Jn 18:38)

    "None." Bahahahahahahahahahaha, ahhhhhhhhhhh.

  7. by Ponderer on April 28, 2023 3:16 pm

Oh I did watch him! In small doses of course. That was all the bullshit I could take at one time. My standing rule was that I'd watch him until he blatantly lied about something. Consequently, I rarely even made it to the first commercial break. Sometimes he hadn't even finished the sentence he was speaking when I changed the channel to him before having to turn back again to actual news.

I'm telling you, Bill. Carlson is a flaming liar who lies constantly. He will tell h8is viewers whatever flaming bullshit they want to hear. The bullshittier, the better.

Sometimes when other news media sites are covering some huge political issue or court case or hearing, I'd switch over to see what Carlson was covering.

Like the other day awhile back, I had been watching the live coverage of Trump being indicted on thirty some-odd felony counts in Manhattan. As all the other news channels were discussing it, just for shits 'n' giggles I switched over to see what Carlson had found to distract his willfully pig-ignorant audience with. He was interviewing... I swear to God... some chef who was famous for making gourmet dishes... out of bugs.

Donna always hated when I would turn the channel to him. So I could only do it when she wasn't around.

  8. by Ponderer on April 28, 2023 3:18 pm

I bet I actually watched him more than you did, Bill.

  9. by HatetheSwamp on April 29, 2023 2:51 am

So. Interviewing the chef was the lie. Hmmm.

  10. by Ponderer on April 29, 2023 10:39 am

I didn't fact check him on it. But I wouldn't be surprised.

But I must admit that I can't say one way or the other that whenever he focused on some fluff piece like that bug-eating chef interview which he was using solely to distract his viewers from the reality going on beyond Fox's doors that the pieces themselves contained lies.

Distraction is the primary reason for his reporting such nonsense. So there isn't really any reason for him to lie when he was reporting such things.

  11. by HatetheSwamp on April 29, 2023 11:14 am

I disagree po but I do think if you can produce an example or examples of his many lies that that'd be worth discussing. Please do.

  12. by Curt_Anderson on April 29, 2023 2:58 pm
The Politifact link below lists more than two dozen of Tucker Carlson's claims. Do you see any that are actually true that you'd like to elucidate?

But don't only take the fact checkers' word for it that Carlson is a fabricator. Take the word of Fox News's own defense lawyers and federal judge in the recent Dominion case.

(NPR)Now comes the claim that you can't expect to literally believe the words that come out of Carlson's mouth. And that assertion is not coming from Carlson's critics. It's being made by a federal judge in the Southern District of New York and by Fox News's own lawyers in defending Carlson against accusations of slander. It worked, by the way.

Just read U.S. District Judge Mary Kay Vyskocil's opinion, leaning heavily on the arguments of Fox's lawyers: The "'general tenor' of the show should then inform a viewer that [Carlson] is not 'stating actual facts' about the topics he discusses and is instead engaging in 'exaggeration' and 'non-literal commentary.' "

Incidentally, NPR isn't the only news site reporting what Judge Vyskocil said.

My guess is that Tucker will be fine. He may be going to OAN, with a steep raise.

And Curt, don't point the finger if your demigods are Rachael, and MSN.

  15. by Curt_Anderson on April 29, 2023 5:18 pm
“… if you can produce an example or examples of his many lies that that'd be worth discussing. Please do…”

So nobody disagrees that Carlson is a lying Tucker. Glad we got that settled. Next topic!

  16. by Ponderer on April 29, 2023 5:21 pm

    "Demigods"...?

Rachel is simply an exceptionally fine journalist and author. There's no demigodery involved, od.

It's no fault on our part that you can't say this about any of the "journalists" you and Hate glom onto.

  17. by Ponderer on April 29, 2023 5:23 pm

    Great work there, Curt. 👍

  18. by oldedude on April 29, 2023 5:44 pm
Rachael in the dogess of the Trump Russian Conspiracy fiasco. She's also the dogess of the "nothing to see here" pedojr laptop. She isn't any sort of "newsperson" just as Tucker isn't. You just happen to be pulled in hook line and sinker.

A Judge Rules Rachel Maddow is a Fake News Fabulist and Not a Journalist

Maddow Blatantly Lies on Air, DeSantis Team Takes Matter into Own Hands
If you’re a journalist going to lie about a statement an individual made to your outlet, it helps if that statement wasn’t sent via email.

I don’t think I need to point out the reasons why. If you need the receipts, so to speak, the transaction is sitting right there in your inbox. If the controversy becomes heated enough, there are ways to ascertain the validity of emails. This is pretty much Fake News 101: If you’re going to butcher a quote, make sure it wasn’t sent via email.

MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow, perhaps cable TV’s foremost fake-news peddler, didn’t get the hint. You would think after years of pushing the Russiagate conspiracy theory far beyond its outer limits, she would get how the game works. (We’ve been documenting Maddow’s lies for years now — and we’ll continue to hold her to account.

Here are just some of rachael's fukups.
"While he was president, President Trump never encouraged Americans to get vaccinated."

Under Scott Walker, "the Wisconsin middle class is shrinking at a faster rate than any other state in the country."

"Despite what you may have heard about Wisconsin’s finances, Wisconsin is on track to have a budget surplus this year."

"President Bush never did one interview with the New York Times during his entire presidency."

Gov. Sarah Palin "got precisely zero support for her call for Alaska's Democratic Senator Mark Begich to resign because Ted Stevens' corruption conviction was overturned."

  19. by Curt_Anderson on April 29, 2023 7:20 pm
    OD,
Rachel Maddow has made some false and partially false statements over the years. But of her questionable (challenged by fact checkers) statements, 50% of them are at least half true. By comparison only six percent of Tucker's questionable statements are at least half true and none are completely true. Bottom line: she certainly adheres to the facts much more closely than Tucker Carlson.

  20. by oldedude on April 29, 2023 8:20 pm
So she only fabricates the lies you peddle 50%? That's the best you can do? Let me rephrase, 50% are 50% true. And she's "reliable."

I also called into fact the perverse "reporting" from MSNBC. You take a look at what they're lying about. Records and whistleblowers agree MSNBC, CNN, et al were in an illegal collusion with the US government officials regarding ditching pedojr's laptop story, which has a direct correlation to pedojoe winning the election.

Next, they were in collusion with the obomber "whitehouse" in supporting the illegal wiretapping, and surveillance, and lying to the court regarding the russian collusion hoax.

These are pretty big things. All of which you still believe happened in your "mind." So, like you agreeing that selling children into sex slavery is ok, you'll never be dissuaded even people got fired and the FISA court scorched the IC over it.

"Let me rephrase, 50% are 50% true. And she's 'reliable.'" --OD

Actually, according to Politifact, the site you cited, 17% of her statements are true, 20% are mostly true and 13% are half true.

The Republicans took control of the House as result of last November's election. I heard a lot of promises that they'd make investigating Hunter Biden's laptop a top priority. I thought there might be televised hearings like the January 6th Committee hearings. So far nothing. I have not heard of any arrests or charges filed. Did I miss something?

We've talked about this ad nauseam. This is the way investigations ARE SUPPOSED TO BE RUN. Not getting a horrywood production to produce them (ala dims "impeachment" fiasco). They are slow and methodical. I know that since it's pedojoe and you're an absolute party member without conscious, nothing can be fact (including if it's in bank records) unless it's evidence against Trump. This is a huge reason you're considered that Brownshirt party member. The purveyor of the absolutism and proud of those that were there at the party's whim during Kristallnacht. THAT is how change should be done!

  23. by HatetheSwamp on April 30, 2023 4:30 am

    OD,

    Bang on.

When Curt defended the Stalin-ism of the J6 Committee and its hearings, I thought he was simply being his ol Good German self. Apparently, though, he was being his true self. He expects the GOP to do that, too...as if it's good and true.

    *****

    Curt,

    I'll stick to my prediction.

    1. House GOPs will run their high power hearings in fall 023.
    2. Do impeachment trials in early 024, as Primary season kicks up.

Why would they, as po'd, say, EFFIN, rush!!!!!?

  24. by oldedude on April 30, 2023 7:26 am
    Wait for the "October surprise!"

  25. by HatetheSwamp on April 30, 2023 7:48 am

I could be wrong but, as I follow the SwampGOP, I see House GOPs buzzing around like busy worker bees. They claim to have a whole mountain range of evidence. Some of it has been leaked, as you know well.

My educated guess is that they're holding their fire until they see the whites of "that feckless dementia-ridden piece of crap's" eyes.

Who knows. We'll see. But, I think Curt's hoping without reason to hope.

"Rachael in the dogess of the Trump Russian Conspiracy fiasco. She's also the dogess of the "nothing to see here" pedojr laptop. She isn't any sort of "newsperson" just as Tucker isn't." -olde dude

No one has ever claimed that Rachel is perfect. No reporters or news organizations are. But it's fair to say that you obviously can't tell the difference between actual journalism and fake news, od. So your criticisms of her lack any real merit.

And "dogess" isn't a word. I love how you can't even criticizing her without making shitt up. It's pretty funny.

  27. by HatetheSwamp on April 30, 2023 8:33 am

    po,

What is a journalist and how does Rachel remotely resemble one?

  28. by Ponderer on April 30, 2023 9:24 am

    See...?

Even Hate here doesn't know the difference and even wants me to educate him to it!

It would, however, be pointless and quixotic endeavor to even attempt it. He is immune to education of any sort apparently. So that is bait I shall leave on the hook.

  29. by Curt_Anderson on April 30, 2023 2:18 pm

Your ludicrous idiocy is truly boundless. A thing of such wild and demented frolic as to be flabbergasted by and wondered at.

I would never get those comments from anyone (at all) that understood the legal system and our laws. Y'all are like getting a straight answer from a 13 year old boy that only thinks with Mr Happy. It always about one thing. "I don't understand the system so I'll make stoopid accusations to you so I "look" "smart." You don't and aren't.

I have a gay friend that uses the "F" bomb a lot. So what I did was to count the "F" bombs she threw out. When we told her the number, she wasn't even aware of what she was doing....

  32. by HatetheSwamp on May 1, 2023 4:28 am

Phew! I thought there might be actual evidence or something more than just your fondest hopes.

Oy. Curt! You must not be paying attention during your wall to wall Fox News watching. Or, did you join the Tucker boycott, too? Jordan and Comer have been pretty clear about the evidence they're finding.

Was "that feckless dementia-ridden" $ack o $hit clever enuff to avoid criminal prosecution? We'll see. But, Old-time, classic, Democrat Boss Tweed, Mayor Daley corruption? Unless the House GOPs are outright lying through their teeth, it's no longer a matter of fondest hopes.

  33. by Ponderer on May 1, 2023 7:38 am

"Jordan and Comer have been pretty clear about the evidence they're finding." -Hate

Yeah. So was Mike Lindell. So was Rudy. So were the dozens of Trump's lawyers who tried to get his flaming bullshit into courtrooms without being immediately laughed out of them.

Did you think you had a point...?

  34. by Ponderer on May 1, 2023 7:40 am

"Unless the House GOPs are outright lying through their teeth," -Hate

That may well be the very first acknowledgement of even the possibility that you might be wrong that I have ever seen you post, Bill.

    KUDOS!!!

  35. by HatetheSwamp on May 1, 2023 7:58 am

No, po. I've said that from the beginning and I've always said it. Still, following conservative media as I do, it seems to me that it's becoming a no-brainer. There's a lot of meat on the bone.

Something else I've said from the beginning is that "that feckless dementia-ridden piece of crap," is going to be exposed for corruption that makes Richard Nixon seem like St. Francis of Assisi...

...but that he won't be even charged with a crime.

I think it's better than 50/50 that he's going to be impeached, but charged criminally? Nah.

  36. by Ponderer on May 1, 2023 8:26 am

"Still, following conservative media as I do, it seems to me that it's becoming a no-brainer. There's a lot of meat on the bone." -Hate

Yes yes... I know that's what you think. I also know that you think there not only is no meat on any of the bones regarding Trump's various and sundry felonies, but that there aren't even any bones. That it's all made up and there has never been any evidence ever presented anywhere that he ever did anything illegal.

You really don't need to explain your hypocrisy to me, Bill. I've become quite an expert on the subject by this point.

  37. by HatetheSwamp on May 1, 2023 8:38 am

I know that's what you think. I also know that you think there not only is no meat on any of the bones regarding Trump's various and sundry felonies.

    Felonies!!!!!?

po. I think Trump is despicable and you've gotten my hopes up too many times. I recall your orgasmic glee on Jan 7 when you proclaimed that Trump has been caught leading an insurrection when, the best the J6 Committee could do was struggle to find some crime in what he didn't do for 187 minutes.

Still, you remain the first person at SS who'd join a lynch mob.

  38. by Ponderer on May 2, 2023 7:50 am

You know, it's not ever necessary for you to flat-out confirm my accusations about you, Bill.

But I want you to know that I do appreciate it.

    👍
