We're geezers here. Curt, isle, OD and pb should remember Eugene McCarthy and his challenge of LBJ in 1968. I watched LBJ's speech when he declared that he wouldn't seek reelection.

As passionately as our progressive SwampDem cult members here defend "that feckless dementia-ridden piece of crap," polls have not been kind to the old fart. A recent CNN poll had only 33% of Americans think the Former Trucker should be reelected. USA TODAY has a mere one third of effin DEMS wanting Clouseau to be back for 025.

Enter RFK, Jr..

About 14% of voters who backed President Joe Biden in 2020 say they support Robert F. Kennedy Jr., according to results from a USA Today/Suffolk University Poll.

The anti-vaccine activist and nephew of former President John F. Kennedy announced his candidacy Wednesday. He’s already garnered the support of 33% of Biden voters, who now say they disapprove of the job he has done. Kennedy is also backed by 35% of voters who say the current president’s policies are “too liberal,” the polling found.

Back in 020, pb was waaaaaaaaaay disappointed that no serious candidate challenged Trump. There were two no names on the GOP primary ballot in Pennsylvania. I don't remember who I voted for only that I didn't vote for Trump.

You Dems love to fall in line and walk in lockstep. No one can think that RFK, Jr. will win the election. But, what happens if he has strong showings in several of the early primaries and caucuses?

The best thing for America, IMO is that Kennedy shakes things up enough to create a last minute challenge of the Flatulent Fool.

Probably a lot RFK jr's alleged supporters are imagining he is his father resurrected. This Kennedy is an anti-vaxxer nut. He also has some sort of quavering voice issue. He will sink rapidly in the polls as soon as voters get a good look and take their measure of him.

  2. by HatetheSwamp on April 20, 2023 5:46 pm

He is enigmatic. There's some old-time 60s lib in there.

What's unknown...unlikely for sure...is if disappointed, disgruntled Dems will use him to cast a protest vote. I would have back in my Dem days.

RFK jr. has about as much chance on the Democratic side as Vivek Ramaswamy on the GOP side.

  4. by HatetheSwamp on April 20, 2023 6:18 pm

He's already doing better in the polls than I expected. Still, with Dem lockstep-ism...

And what's interesting is A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that, if the next presidential election were held today, 37% of Likely U.S. Voters would vote for Biden. Forty-three percent (43%) would vote for former President Donald Trump, and 14% say they would vote for some other candidate. I think that's the same company that did the RFK Jr poll.

The 37% means those still "supporting" "that feckless dementia-ridden piece of crap," are in the minority of US voters even though pedojoe's handlers may still want him to run (we're supposed to "know" Tuesday). And like we've been told, if he's the person you would vote for because he's the only logical person for you, then you're an avid supporter and will follow him to the ends of the earth. Presumably, sniffing little girls' hair, copping feels whenever you can, and showering with your daughter for sexual satisfaction. AND of course, Trump, Trump, Trump, Trump, Trump, Trump, Trump, Trump...

Sorry, Two different polls saying the same thing within the margin of error.

Robert F Kennedy Jr. may be more attractive to potential Donald Trump voters voters than to would-be Biden voters.

RFK Jr. recently took to Twitter to discuss the firing of Tucker Carlson. He wrote, "Fox fires @TuckerCarlson five days after he crosses the red line by acknowledging that the TV networks pushed a deadly and ineffective vaccine to please their Pharma advertisers. Carlson’s breathtakingly courageous April 19 monologue broke TV’s two biggest rules."

    Curt,

There's a lot for me, the guy who was a Dem for 40 years, to like in Jr., i.e., classic 1960s, well, Kennedy liberalism.

    But, for MAGAs? Unlikely.

  9. by Curt_Anderson on August 21, 2023 6:02 pm
It should not surprise anybody who pays attention that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has dropped from his high point of 20% when he first announced in April to 13.1% today in the RCP aggregate of polls. Since he began his campaign for the Democratic Party nomination, he's lost a third of his support.

It didn't take people long to realize he is not his father.

As Fivethirtyeight.com reported in "If RFK Jr. Wants To Be President, He's Running In The Wrong Primary", Republicans like RFK Jr. more than Democrats do.

I was going to wait for the debates. But is the DNC actually going to have any?

Maybe they'll have pedojr running. Or even better pedojoe's brother who accepted a $2BIL illegal contract. Either way, it's a complete nothing burger for the little NAZIs.

  11. by Curt_Anderson on August 21, 2023 8:16 pm
No DNC debates. I don’t think incumbent presidents ever debate during their primaries.

  12. by Indy! on August 21, 2023 8:28 pm

You know Curt is scared of RFK because he has to lie about him. He's not an "anti-vaxxer". He was concerned the coronavirus vax was pushed on the public too fast without enough testing. Which - btw - turned out to be true. Read the warnings the CDC has issued (and legacy media has completely ignored) since the vax came out and you'll be sorry you took the needle.

And of course incumbents debate. Here's video of Biden/Trump in case your memory is failing you again, Curt...

There is no way that nutwad would ever make it through the primary. Not that there's gonna be much of a primary.
