And the good news just keeps pouring in each day!

Trump was arrested and Charged with 34 felonies and the Democrats won in Wisconsin, “At the end of the night, the Wisconsin Democratic Party released a statement congratulating Justice-elect Protasiewicz on her victory.” “The resurrection of democracy and freedom in Wisconsin has begun!” And Finland is now a NATO country, “The era of nonalignment in our history has come to an end—a new era begins,” Finland’s president Sauli Niinistö said.” !!

“Also today, a federal appeals court in Washington, D.C., ruled that several of Trump’s top aides must testify before the grand jury investigating the attempt to overturn the 2020 presidential election.” ~ H.C.R

“Faced with criminal charges for the first time for any former president, Donald Trump ripped from a well-worn page in his playbook Tuesday night — lashing out with a, at times, bigoted speech full of lies and conspiracies.
And that's really no surprise.

Any time Trump has had his back against the wall, he's resorted to a familiar [laughable] script:

Blast opponents;

Build an air of victimization;

Try to discredit accusers, questioning their motives and drawing tenuous lines of guilt by association to create perceived conflicts of interest;

Be as provocative as possible to deflect and distract even if that means resorting to conspiracies or simply making things up.” ~ NPR

As we watch their party self destruct 👍 it restores my faith that the good people in our country outweigh the Trump Voter Republicans...And the good guys, through their perseverance, will always prevail in the end! 🍻

    "Wisconsin Democratic chair Ben Wikler tweeted: “This isn’t a prediction. It isn’t a hint. It’s just a note. And my note is, this election was a release valve for twelve years of Democratic rage in Wisconsin about Republicans rigging our state and smashing our democracy—and then using that power to rip away our rights.”

    "Across the state, Republican numbers slumped. Political commentator Brian Tyler Cohen noted: “Republicans are losing across the country, even in historically red areas—Georgia, Arizona, Michigan, Wisconsin. The abortion bans, climate denial, gun idolatry, anti-democratic behavior and extremism has lost them entire generations of Americans.”

    I can hear the weeping and the gnashing of teeth coming from the Republican Trump voters this morning...They suffer doubly because they know they are the major cause of their own defeat... 👍👍👍

    Islander, Google the sour grapes concession speech of the guy who lost the Wisconsin Supreme Court election. His name is Kelly. Among other things, he called her an unworthy opponent and a liar. Mind you this is from a guy who tried every legal and not so the legs maneuver to overturn the election results to give Trump an electoral win in Wisconsin.

    I keep hearing on the news from prominent Democrats, including liberals, who say that yesterday was a sad, solemn day in America, and there’s no reason for celebrating. Funny, I just don’t feel sad.

    I certainly don't feel sad about this either, Curt !! 👍

    I'm very happy to see things moving along as they should, and now, much to the dismay of the Trump voters, we are starting to see the results.

    There were, for sure, some Democrats including liberals who expressed frustration that it was taking so long to get to this point, and I've posted links from Teri Kanefield, Marcy Wheeler, and Heather that explained why this could not be rushed and why it neede to be done properly according to our laws and this can take time. Often in large complex white collar and racketeering cases it can take several years.

    If Donald Trump thinks the Manhattan district attorney lacks solid evidence to support the indictment, all Trump has to do is demand a speedy trial. Trump has an absolute constitutional right to demand a speedy trial. It's spelled out in the Sixth Amendment. If Trump demands a speedy trial, the trial where the DA would bear the burden of proving guilt beyond a reasonable doubt could begin in a week or so.

    You'd think that an innocent man would want to get the trial behind him as soon as possible, especially one who hopes to compete in a series of primaries and caucuses starting near the end of the year.

    Any guesses why Trump would want to delay his day in court?

    My guess would be that in Trump's own mind, if he can delay this or any trial until he is campaigning in the primaries, he can make it seem more like this is all politically driven by his opponents in their unending efforts to keep him from once again regaing his rightful place as the President of the United States.

    The charges are base on an unknown predicate crime according to the indictment. Although they are not required to state the "crime," they usually will. Bragg may not know that crime or is unsure if it will work. When doing a case, you always put your guns out and hope for a plea (which would be an admission of a lessor, but agreeable crime). There is an issue if it's a federal crime because of jurisdictional issues. Because of that, no one has ever tested those waters. The other issue is that he would have had to have been found guilty of those crimes to make it a predicate act.

    Well, they're not having any motions hearings until August, and another admin hearing (mostly motions) December. Why on earth, the judge would demand Trump come to a motions hearing is beyond me. It really has little to do with him. It's all about procedure.

    Honestly, "speedy trial" or not isn't really his call. It's mostly a procedural issue lawyers do in some cases. Right now, they don't even know what they're going to do motions on since they don't have any predicate act to defend against.
