No wonder Tucker Carlson and many Republicans complain about our supplying military aid to Ukraine. Putin's remarks could have come from a GOP stump speech harping about Democrats. Ron DeSantis could have delivered these remarks simply before replacing the word Russia with Florida.

Some selected comments from Putin's speech Tuesday:

Look what they [Westerners] are doing to their own people. It is all about the destruction of the family, of cultural and national identity, perversion and abuse of children, including pedophilia, all of which are declared normal in their life. They are forcing the priests to bless same-sex marriages. Bless their hearts, let them do as they please. Here is what I would like to say in this regard. Adult people can do as they please. We in Russia have always seen it that way and always will: no one is going to intrude into other people’s private lives, and we are not going to do it, either.

But here is what I would like to tell them: look at the holy scripture and the main books of other world religions. They say it all, including that family is the union of a man and a woman, but these sacred texts are now being questioned. Reportedly, the Anglican Church is planning, just planning, to explore the idea of a gender-neutral god. What is there to say? Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.

That last point about "a gender-neutral god" interests me. If God is male, as has often been assumed, does He have male genitalia? Does He urinate standing up? Is He subject to nocturnal emissions? Will He ever find happiness with a compatible woman? I mean not one already married as Mary was.

This is an extremely common feeling in many parts of the world. The US, that stalwart of strength and good is a shell of what it used to be. Reference the post I made that you and Donna laughed at. Your thoughts are still locked in to that "ASSumption" that is 30 years old. The Reserves now spend more time learning about "wokeness" and "pronouns" than they do their jobs. Many of those relied on for corporate knowledge are getting out, many times early because they can't stand that they can't do their jobs anymore.

As I've said before, I met a Senior Sergeant in Saudi. He said simply that we would destroy ourselves from the inside. Terrorists, Sadaam, or any other country doesn't need to lift a hand. As it turns out, he is entirely correct. Our military doesn't have the readiness to fight a war. The country is too "woke" worrying about pronouns and picking pronouns, we don't care about things that really matter.

So maybe he does sound like a GOP candidate. For us that have heard these warnings since the 1980's, it's another one. But he knows a secret. He's goading us to a two front war. One we can't win. Laugh if you want. This is what I did for the last 10 years of my military career. None of the countries between us and them can stand up to them either. It's the domino theory. OH, CR@P! I can't use terms the sheep don't understand. Oh well.

Just to clarify, I laughed because you said the Chinese could “walk across the Pacific”. Walk across water? Really?

HolyJFC. I guess if you got nutin else, you make do with bullsht. As usual, you completely missed the entire point of three posts. I must say. That was preeeettttyyyy juvenile. GTFU.

I wasn't kidding when I remarked that you are very much in touch with your feelings, OD. You are extremely sensitive. You have frequent meltdowns. Like snowflakes.

Sounds like you made od mad again, Curt.

His feelings get hurt quite easily and then he gets upset. I think we all aught to keep that in mind when talking to him. I don’t have to worry about that anymore since he dismissed me and forbade me to talk to him, but still, it wouldn’t hurt if we were all more sensitive to his feelings.

The counter to this is to care about no one else, which I see on here quite often. That's a sign of an extremely low EQ. Empathy is a trait for normal humans. The exceptions? sociopaths and psychopaths. Dahlmer, Sadam (family), Idi Amin, Pol Pot.

And yes, people that can't show empathy I have issues with.

IMO Putin said all that to foment more opposition to the material support we've been supplying to Ukraine.

If a Republican wins in 2024, Ukraine's days as a sovereign democratic republic will be over.

  9. by HatetheSwamp on February 26, 2023 8:39 am

Donna, I'm not sure that Ukraine is the haven of democracy that you're dreaming it is. In fact, that's Tucker's point.

Nevertheless, I despair over our continuing support for Ukraine, as you know.

Even today, Joe's already under water on Ukraine.

President Zelenskyy brought a better functioning to Ukraine, which is one reason why Putin invaded.

  11. by HatetheSwamp on February 26, 2023 8:54 am

Agreed, Donna. Still, there's a lot of the Hunter Biden/Burisma left in Ukraine.

It's a reality that, among the vast universe of people who oppose our support of Ukraine, some are offended by its corruption.

  12. by Donna on February 26, 2023 9:09 am

That should be all the more reason to support Zelenskyy. Ukrainian citizens ousted the president (forget his name) back around 2013 because he was a typical Russian plant who was running a kleptocracy in Ukraine.

If I were Putin, I'd be innundating Americans, especially Republican voters, with propaganda designed to dissuade them from supporting Ukraine.

  13. by HatetheSwamp on February 26, 2023 9:14 am

"Should." As I'm sure you know, little happens in this world because it should happen.

If our President could inspire people who didn't already have a vested interest in agreeing with him, we'd have a chance. But, alas.

It's a reality that, among the vast universe of people who oppose our support of Ukraine, some are offended by its corruption.

Donna- Putin's point right now is getting us involved in Ukraine. Putin will then get everything he needs from the Chinese and we would have fallen for the trap of a two-front war.

Lead, I agree with you to a point. I was extremely careful about trusting anyone from Ukraine. They have been known as the money laundering central of Russia for decades. They were Putin's pawns, just like Latvia and Romania. When Zalenski got in, I was very reserved in my trust for the new "regime" because it's hard to get all the corruption out of a country quickly.
I gave Zalenski two years. At the end of that I did a country study that we had access to. My thought. He's not perfect, but much better than the old puppets.

I see many that are arguing the exact thing the dims have stone-walled other incursions about. Do we have an exit plan? If not, why? What are the dates you plan on leaving? We want that date. Why are you there, and what is our mission? etcetcetc. It was the dims that got us in to Korea and Vietnam. Korea is still going on, and we left on the skids of our helicopters from Vietnam. All the time there were the same questions from them.

Now, it's just reversed. I posted this before and I haven't changed. What comes around, goes around. Especially in politics. If you're asking me to do something different, you should have thought of that when you did it to us.
