This reminds me of when I was a kid when we'd vacation in northern Wisconsin. Invariably the innkeepers would inform my father that we should have been there previous week because that's when the fish were really biting.
(Cleveland Plain Dealer) YUMA, Arizona - Republican members of Congress eager to see immigrants illegally entering the United States gathered late Wednesday night in roughly a dozen vehicles, some clearly marked as belonging to police, to search the Arizona border with Mexico.
As they rumbled along the entry port of San Luis, a dam along the Colorado River and more desolate sections of the U.S. border between Arizona and Mexico, though, their search came up empty. Hours later, immigration officials would spot a group crossing north, but it was long after Congress members had retired for the night.
Jordan’s group was told that around 4,000 immigrants cross the U.S. border near Yuma each day, but its conspicuous presence thwarted the expedition’s goal of spotting immigrants attempting an unobtrusive entry. Although a bus could be seen parked across the border at one stop, nobody emerged.
I have a great idea! Let's permanently and conspicuously park Jim Jordan and other wingnut politicians along our southern border. That might dissuade would-be immigrants and asylum seekers.
