"Everyone here knows that pb is highly critical of President Biden. However, in this case, he declares this, as a purely symbolic act, is one of the greatest moments in US presidential history.

What Biden does from now on is what will matter, of course, but, today, the president has achieved a truly great moment."

Pondy! You're embarrassing the poor guy...Hate didn't mean to tell the truth. It just slipped out !! 😲

  2. by Ponderer on February 22, 2023 8:42 am

Isle, Hate would need to possess some semblance of shame in order to experience embarrassment.

Pondy ~ I wonder if Hate can feel guilt ???

Certainly not over anything he or the GOP ever says, does, or causes he doesn't.

  5. by HatetheSwamp on February 22, 2023 10:05 am

I don't get it, po. You uncomfortable when pb praises his President?

  6. by Ponderer on February 22, 2023 10:32 am

No of course not. Nothing you have ever done or said has ever made me uncomfortable, Bill.

I'm merely pointing out your shameless flaming hypocrisy is all. And I suppose also your instant and knee-jerk reflexive confederacy with any flaming bullshit that issues from the right wing media.

From here on, Bill, you might want to wait before posting your own thoughts on a new subject until Fox tells you exactly what your own thoughts are supposed to be. It would avoid such a flagrant display of your egregious penchant for flabbergasting hypocrisy.

    What's pb's "shameless flaming hypocrisy?"

  13. by islander on February 22, 2023 4:06 pm

Hate asks: What's pb's "shameless flaming hypocrisy?

In one breath...In reference to our president’s trip to Ukraine...he [Hate/pb] "declares this, as a purely symbolic act, is one of the greatest moments in US presidential history.

In the next breath...Hate describes Biden (the same guy who gave one of the greatest moments in US presidential history) as..."that feckless dementia-ridden piece of crap"

In one breath...Hate says he hates and despises [redundant] Trump.

And then...Hate votes to elect Trump to the highest office in the land
    (twice).

  14. by HatetheSwamp on February 22, 2023 4:15 pm

I don't see the issue, isle. There's no reason that both can't be true. The stumbler in chief is, as grieving mother Cathy McCollum described him, "that feckless dementia-ridden piece of crap" and he did, under the influence of his string pullers, pull off a brilliant act of symbolism t'other day.

  15. by islander on February 22, 2023 4:22 pm
    Hate !

    You're a riot !!! 🤣

I love it when you talk like that and try to rationalize your hypocrisy !!

  16. by oldedude on February 22, 2023 4:31 pm
He did what he was supposed to do, leaving issues in the US without even a comment. I understand that international issues are a big issue. But he couldn't be bothered with the pedojoe trainwreck in Ohio. The thing is, it didn't need to be. Make a statement at the whitehouse, fly a couple of hours, touch down, make a statement, shake some hands, kiss some babies, and get back into the aircraft. But he can't be bothered with that. Does he have to? No, he doesn't have to do anything but stay alive and fake that he's okay. Do what his handlers tell him to do. Don't shake hands with people that (maybe) should have been standing on stage but weren't. Seems like a pretty easy existence to me.

As far as Ukraine... Lead and I have always sided with the Ukrainians. If his handlers feel that this and Poland stump speech (which I agree, was nothing to be proud of) then fine. Telling he'll always be "with Ukraine" but flat out reject voters may be his true sign of dementia. IF he chooses to run (pray for it!) this will be brought up over and over and over and over again.

So politically, it was at the very least, an unwise move that his opponents will use against the party in the 24 elections.

  17. by islander on February 22, 2023 4:48 pm
Do you know how to spell "Deflection" ? And don't look up at how I spelled and just copy it !! 🤣

  18. by HatetheSwamp on February 23, 2023 3:30 am

    Just curious. Deflection from what?

  19. by oldedude on February 23, 2023 4:16 am
That was my question. I think THAT is the deflection.

"In one breath...In reference to our president’s trip to Ukraine...he [Hate/pb] "declares this, as a purely symbolic act, is one of the greatest moments in US presidential history.

In the next breath...Hate describes Biden (the same guy who gave one of the greatest moments in US presidential history) as..."that feckless dementia-ridden piece of crap""

I find it interesting they're prisoners of their own life of two prisons. It is either pedojoe OR Trump. There is nothing in their shallow lives that can exist out of that universe. And it's really sad you can deal with a person (especially a politician) and like some things they do, and not others.

As they "both" said, "you can't have it both ways." What about a third possible option? That's too complex for their theories.

I agree with how pedojoe has handled Ukraine. Against other (sometimes very vocal) opponents that don't want the quagmire of Vietnam. I will still not like (at all) his "economic" plan his handlers gave him to force us in to.

Trump's economic play was excellent. Jobs to the underemployed, to those in inner cities. Community colleges are also tech schools so those not on a university route can not only earn a wage, but be employable outside of low income jobs with no benefits. AND I didn't agree with soooo much about Trump. The demeaning and name calling. His "mouth." His tweets. Like pedojoe, he needed to listen more to the professional military folks.

I am interested in a couple of third options because I want neither of the above listed again. I understand that's out of the realm of possibility for them.

  20. by HatetheSwamp on February 23, 2023 5:18 am

    OD,

You and I are very close on Trump.

But the way I believe we're most compatible here is in our ability...our need...to think for ourselves. It's not a joke that all the progressives I encounter these days are locksteppers. I just can't understand that. Curt and isle, especially, seem to invest a ton of intellectual energy into Good German-ing. Clearly, they're bright enough to form independent thoughts. It's as if conformity and subservience are guiding values in their lives.

They confound me. I don't understand. Honestly, perhaps I'm better off not knowing.

  21. by islander on February 23, 2023 5:35 am

Actually, Hate, I'm kinda flattered when you call us a "good Germans". There actually were some you know, like Bonhoeffer. He was one of the heroes that inspired the antifascists !!! 😁

  22. by HatetheSwamp on February 23, 2023 5:44 am

Yeah, isle. Bonhoeffer in one of pb's five heroes from Christian history.

    You ain't he.

  23. by Donna on February 23, 2023 6:08 am

"What's pb's 'shameless flaming hypocrisy?'" -Both Ways Bill

Praising Biden's trip as "one of the greatest moments in US presidential history". But then, since you can't think for yourself or stand up for your own independent thought when you do, after you got the memo from Fox your assessment turned into a harsh criticism of him for even doing it instead of doing something else.

You surprisingly and uncharacteristically praised him for an eminently praiseworthy action (And good on you for that, and I believe you meant it). But then your robotic lemming devotion to your political party forced you to spoil it by turning 180-degrees around and castigating him for it. All of a sudden acting like he blew off a major disaster to do something as narcissistic and sociopathic as going golfing or something. (link provided)

That is rather obvious shameless, flaming hypocrisy. Textbook case there in fact, BWB.

    -Both Ways Bill

So do you still stand behind what you wrote or not, Bill?

  26. by HatetheSwamp on February 23, 2023 10:11 am

pb stands behind it. It may be beyond your understanding, but...

  27. by Donna on February 23, 2023 10:43 am

I hate armchair quarterbacking, especially when it's politically motivated.

Biden sent the head of the EPA to East Palestine and made a unannounced trip to meet with Zelenskyy to affirm the US's solidarity with Ukraine ahead of an anticipated major Russian offensive. An objective assessment would characterize that as having competently addressed two issues of great importance.

Republicans are going to make political hay out of everything that Biden does, especially with the 2024 election campaign season having already begun. And of course most of it is just typical political posturing.

  28. by Ponderer on February 23, 2023 11:15 am
"It may be beyond your understanding, but..." -Bothe Wyas Bill

It actually seems pretty clear, Bill. You believe that what Biden did was "one of the greatest moments in US presidential history", and that "the president has achieved a truly great moment"...

...And you also believe that he shouldn't have done it and should have done something else instead.

    What's not to understand?

I did two posts that have been completely ignored, so I'm giving up this inane thread.

  31. by HatetheSwamp on February 23, 2023 1:31 pm

OD, po's being particularly persnickety on this thread.

  32. by Ponderer on February 23, 2023 1:39 pm

Whaddaya mean huh, Bill? Your shameless flaming hypocrisy is the only thing I have been talking about in this whole thread for fukk sake. You ask for clarifications and I give them to you. You say, "What's pb's "shameless flaming hypocrisy?", and I told you.

It actually should be pretty clear, Bill. From everything you've said on this and other threads, you believe and assert that what Biden did by going to Ukraine and meeting with Zelensky was "one of the greatest moments in US presidential history.", and that "the president has achieved a truly great moment"...

...And you also criticize him along with your Fox overlords for even taking the trip while asserting that he shouldn't have gone and should have focused on and done something else here in the U.S. instead.

And you can't explain how this isn't shameless flaming hypocrisy and that's why all this asinine obfuscation farting out from your keyboard.

Or maybe it's just the fact that you're a blithering imbecile. I'm open minded and free thinking enough to accept either as a possibility.

  33. by Ponderer on February 23, 2023 1:45 pm

Forgive my lack of response to you, olde dude. It's just that it takes several readings of your posts to ever discover any semblance of a coherent thread to follow guiding me to something even vaguely approaching a point to respond to.

But I do try. It's me, not you. Forgive me.

  34. by Ponderer on February 23, 2023 1:49 pm

So Bill, should the president have made that trip to Kyiv for that truly great moment?

    Yes or no?

  35. by HatetheSwamp on February 23, 2023 1:53 pm

Yes, po. The trip was important. The timing was historically brilliant.

    Like I said.

  36. by Ponderer on February 23, 2023 1:57 pm

So believing that, is it not hypocritical to jump on the Fox Band Wagon and chastise him for taking a trip you believe he should have taken?

Is that not trying to have it both completely opposite ways?

  37. by HatetheSwamp on February 23, 2023 2:05 pm

    po,

    WHAT ARE YOU REFERRING TO!!!!!?

  38. by islander on February 23, 2023 2:19 pm

Let me see... If I were Hate, and I slipped up and embarrassingly admitted that Biden’s trip to Ukraine was "one of the greatest moments in US presidential history”, how can I possibly save face among my MAGA peers and get back to denigrating the president and calling him senile and demented again ?

    Hmmm...This is really a tough one... 🤔

I know! I can bring up the train accident which was genuinely awful, and I can take away some of the attention from Joe’s historic trip by saying, “But, but, but he didn’t go to the train accident site” !! That’s the ticket !!

And if everybody goes, “Huh?” I can come back with, “See! You all don’t care about the victims of that train wreck”!

 😢

As 😀 Smiley would say, “Oooh that’s pure genius”
! 👍

  39. by HatetheSwamp on February 23, 2023 2:39 pm

Why is it so offensive to you, po and isle, that I think that our President’s trip to Kiev, when he did it, was ingenious?

Is it...and this is the only way I can understand it...it inflicts awareness in you that your attitude toward Trump really is insane?

Normally, at a moment like this, Curt and isle would say, "Good. Now we're getting somewhere."

    I don't get it. Confounding.

  40. by Donna on February 23, 2023 3:14 pm

od - I addressed post #16 in post #27. I guess you didn't read it.

  41. by Ponderer on February 23, 2023 6:14 pm

That's okay, Bill. You win. I have failed. There is simply no way to get this simple concept through to you in a way that you can comprehend. I'll stop pestering you about it. I'm flogging a dead horse at this point anyways.

We know you're a shameless flaming hypocrite. It doesn't really matter to us if you ever realize it for yourself. We know what you are either way. And I have enjoyed this little repartee even if it did appear to send you into convulsions of severe cognizant dissonance. If that's the closest I can get you to seeing reality, I'll have to take it.

  42. by oldedude on February 23, 2023 6:43 pm
I said the same thing. It's politics. That's all. It was all good. He did a better job in Ukraine than he did in Poland, and he got the job done. He didn't screw up. He didn't do anything to complain about, although there are those on the right (and some to the left) would say this is another quagmire and quicksand that was Vietnam. I understand that. Okay. But he did a good job.

My only wish was that he would have 3 minutes out of his schedule and made some reference to Ohio and the issues those folks are facing, and all of us Americans that will have poison water for the next several decades. Again. It's politics. He appears he cares more about a foreign country than he does his own people. That's all.

I guess I was taught a whole different view. Where you could laugh AT people who do stupid things, and work with them also. This prison of two thoughts drives me nuts.

  43. by HatetheSwamp on February 24, 2023 2:36 am

There is simply no way to get this simple concept through to you in a way that you can comprehend.

I get it. Nuance has never been your forté. Bahahahahahahahahahaha.

  44. by islander on February 24, 2023 4:59 am

"I said the same thing. It's politics. That's all." ~ od

Of course it’s politics...That’s what politicians do. A good politician is first of all able to get him or herself elected. Then, in the political arena, a good politician can accomplish a lot that is good (or harmful) for our country.

There’s nothing intrinsically good or bad about politics or being a politician.

That’s why I used to chuckle when I’d hear people say they voted for Donald Trump, “Because he’s not a politician” !!

  45. by HatetheSwamp on February 24, 2023 5:29 am

I'm sure they said that. What he was not, is of your Swamp.
