Trump's sacrilegious Bible scam. If people don't recognize Trump as a phony now, they never will.

Why Did the Archives Apparently Never Ask for the Unreturned Biden Documents Back?

This is a biggest hugest glaring issue to me and no one is even talking about it or bringing it up in the media. It's a gigantic difference between the two cases.

Has anyone here yet heard of any commentators talking about this?

Have we heard anything from the Archives about whether or not they ever asked for them back? If they did ask for them back all those years ago and Biden never responded and they just gave up, then that's a big problem for him.

But if they never asked for them back and he had no idea that he even still had them, then I can't see how he could be legally liable for "knowingly" having and withholding them.

I have a feeling that all this is going to bring to light a lot of problems with the Archive's systems and procedures themselves.

Could it be that the archives, up until the Trump era, was never really in the habit of confirming to the last piece of paper what documents were still out of their hands at the end of a president or VP's administration? That they were just so used to all or nearly all of the documents being dutifully returned that they got extremely lax in their duties and just didn't bother about the final .001% that they didn't get back?

That seems rather unlikely. But if so, the Trump administration and his chumminess with our adversaries during his stretch may have awakened the Archives to the fact that they had best get their shitt together when his term is over to make sure they get every last thing back.

Could it be that these Biden documents, although marked CLASSIFIED, weren't of a sufficiently top secret nature that they don't generally bother about asking for them back? That they count on the person they were given to to destroy such documents? We don't know enough about the nature of these documents to know either way yet.

Could it be that Biden knew full well of each and every CLASSIFIED document he had? And that he had a specific reason of self preservation in not wanting to let a single one of them get back into the record? And that he had someone inside the Archives helping him by covering up their absence?

Who knows? It's possible. I certainly admit that. But it certainly is in no place to be the #1 Most Likely Scenario as it's being portrayed in right wing media.

But hey. It's all they've got. Knock yourselves out, all you MAGA Hats.

We just don't know enough about anything yet to speculate with any degree of eventual accuracy what the real truth is.

    po,

With the GOPs, the truth seekers, running the House, there will be an investigation of Clouseau's swiping of Top Secret Classified Documents. No doubt.

I'm sure that you are right. Problems with the archives will, very likely, be brought to the surface and here's what I'm guessing will come to light:

The problem for "that feckless dementia-ridden piece of crap" is that he got pinched by the Swamp's run of the mill, garden variety, everyday persecution of OrangeMan. My guess is that the Archives wouldn't have ever cared about Trump’s documents were Trump Biden or The ONE or a Clinton...even one of the Bushes. But, Trump!!!!!?

So, since an effin Special Counsel has been appointed and there's a great likelihood that Trump would have been indicted, knowing the DC GOP fury that would be aroused, and the investigating Trump's lawyers would do, Clouseau's legal team figured that it's likely that the Flatulent Fool's thievery would be discovered...and in a way that would have devastating political consequences. So, they did their best to minimize the damage to the Corvette King.

The biggest vulnerability for Biden is the actual content of the documents that he stole. If any of them are connected to the shady business dealings detailed on the Biden Crime Family laptop? Holy $hit!

I not only agree with that entire paragraph you wrote there ( 😲 ), but I must also acknowledge and congratulate you on your startling and welcomed utilization of the word "if".

    Is this really po?

If so, you really should give me some kind of warning when you're going to agree with me. I'm a geezer. Sudden falls can be dangerous at my age.

Well imagine my alarm when you actually allowed for the possibility that your worst imaginings of Biden might not be a forgone conclusion.

Ponderer, I am probably not what you had in mind when you asked why there were no commentators asking about the National Archives not requesting the return of classified documents. Last week I wrote a post asking what’s the deal with unreturned classified documents. I pointed out that my local library will eventually send me a nasty note if I keep a library book out for too long a time.

To me, it’s obvious that there is a systemic problem with our classified document system. When I worked for a manufacturing firm whenever there was a problem with the quality of the products we sold we analyzed it from the perspective of W Edward Deming. Look him up if you’re not familiar with him. In the old way of manufacturing if there was a problem with a widget the "solution" was to blame and possibly fire an employee. The better way is to follow Deming’s dozen or so rules.
