Did y'all watch President Zelenskyy's address to the US Congress? Quite moving. He's calling for offensive weapons, which I wholeheartedly agree with.

Anyhow, from Gaetz and Boebert “blow through” Capitol security and refuse screenings — then diss Zelenskyy speech

Two Capitol Police officers stopped the pair and informed them they needed to go through a metal detector before entering the chamber, according to the report. Gaetz was heard "briefly questioning the officer's direction, before turning away."

"Mr. Gaetz? Mr. Gaetz?!" an officer said as Gaetz and Boebert decided to "blow through" the screening and enter the chamber anyway, according to the report.

[So why did security allow them to pass through anyhow? - Donna]

Boebert and Gaetz, who oppose additional aid to Ukraine and called to investigate aid that was already allocated, were later seen sitting and checking their phones during a standing ovation for the Ukrainian leader.

The pair repeatedly sat through other parts of Zelenskyy's speech that drew standing ovations.

Though Boebert and Gaetz were repeatedly captured by the cameras, other Republicans declined to stand for the Ukrainian leader, including Clyde, Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio; Rep. Diana Harshbarger, R-Tenn.; Rep. Warren Davidson, R-Ohio; and Rep. Michael Cloud, R-Texas, according to Axios' Andrew Solender, though they applauded parts of his speech. Other far-right lawmakers who oppose additional aid to Ukraine, including Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., and Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., did not even attend the speech.

Ughly.

Those two have to be two of the least mature members of Congress. They are apparently anti-Ukraine and clearly disrespectful of Zelenskyy. What strain of Republicans are they representing?

I always enjoy your side, you fascists, comment on and seek to understand the other party. OD and pb have demonstrated that t'other side from you is where openness and acceptance and inclusion, diversity and tolerance reigns. Oh, and freethinking! For you locksteppers to grasp what's going on over here is beyond you. YOU have demonstrated that. Thanks for the chuckles.

There's a vigorous discussion taking place over what to do about Ukraine. But, c'mon bubbas!! It's inaccurate for you to suggest that MAGAs have turned against Ukraine. For the most part, they never were on the Ukraine train.

Remember? Their icon calling Putin a genius!!!!!? Baha!

I checked the first on the list I posted in bold type, Rep. Andrew Clyde (R-GA).

Many members of Congress in both parties were moved by his plea. One who was not, however, was Rep. Andrew Clyde (R-GA).

According to Leigh Ann Caldwell of The Washington Post, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) urged Clyde to stand for applause during one round of ovation for Zelenskyy — to which Clyde mouthed, "I will not. I will not."

This is a seeming shift for Clyde, who became infamous last year after his remark that the January 6 insurrectionists just looked like a "normal tourist visit." Earlier this year, Clyde released a statement saying, "we pray for the Ukrainian people's safety and for their resolve," and "America stands with the people of Ukraine. Freedom from oppression is a right for every solitary person on earth — and anyone who undermines that right must be held accountable."

However, as the Ukraine war has progressed, Republicans have become increasingly divided over support for military and humanitarian aid.

In particular, loyalists to Donald Trump have begun opposing the aid, and voting against it in both the House and Senate — something that could complicate the passage of further aid when Republicans assume control of the House next year.

I'd be willing to bet that there are more like Clyde.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Clyde, Boebert and Gaetz are mad that Zelenskyy didn’t cowtow to Trump’s “perfect phone call”.

Zelenskyy said there was nothing wrong with the call. That's a fabrication of the MSM the sheeple have said enough for it to become their "reality."

"Ukraine's Zelensky 'offended' by media reporting that Trump 'put pressure' on him"

"Honestly, the main thing I read when my name appears in different media outlets, I read that Trump put pressure. Pressure? Well, I was very offended to hear this," Zelensky said. "Why? Because I am the president of Ukraine. We may be smaller than the United States, but we are an independent Ukraine. We proved this to Russia when we kept our territory. We continue to prove that we are an independent country. This is why he did not pressure me. I will never say that."

Zelensky then revealed something regarding the conversation with Trump that did upset him.

    OD,

Every sane person in the world knows that there was nuthin wrong with the call. It wasn't perfect, but it was fine.
